Always nice the flat bread with 4 cheeses and basil was fresh looking and tasted fresher. The bar tenders always nice.

Service was really good and that is why I am giving Outpost two stars. I purchased a Groupon for 1 appetizer, two entrees and one dessert. I viewed the menu online before purchasing and they had a variety of interesting entrees that included grilled items but when I arrived all the restaurant was selling pub food and no longer sold dessert. The waitress did sub an appetizer for the dessert but I was still not happy about the abrupt menu change that offered less than was promised. I really was in the mood for a steak. When the food came out it looked amazing but that is where my smile started and ended. The wings and nachos were lukewarm and the wings did not even have any seasoning other than the sriracha sauce. we had to ask for salt. For entrees we had the burger/fries and arugula, fig, ham and goat cheese flat bread. The flatbread appeared burnt and tasted flat. The small burger was average, I could get it anywhere, and the fries where fried in rancid oil. I went next door to Jonathon’s for dessert and will actually return for what looks like an amazing menu which I am assured will not change by my next visit.

Yum, good beer, good crowd, and good live music. I left the place wanting to buy a bar down in the Bishop Arts district.

Keep on playing Southern Dallas sector. You’re going to make it where I don’t have to go across the bridge except to visit friends. I swear, the foodie movement happening in the southern sector is so amazing and Outpost is a great edition. PS, get ready guys because I’m about to gush. So a little birdie dropped in my ear that Outpost changes are the brainchild of the amazing chef behind Smoke, who I guess bought it out. The menu he has is basic and done extremely well with super complex flavors that will make you straight up forget all the table manners and airs you thought you had and get straight DGAF in public. It is THATGOOD. We started our meal with a couple of Bellinis, an order of Sriracha Hot Wings and Grilled Flat Bread. First off, the wings. They are super nommy. I loved that they were served with bleu cheese, but it was the pickled celery that really set it off. As for the flatb read, well the name definitely does not let you in on what’s happening. Picture fig jam, tavern ham, goat cheese and a pile of fresh arugula. All of the flavors matched so well and it really made you taste the peppery undertones that make arugula so delicious. By this time, I was honestly full, but honestly, I believe in the power of to-go boxes so I soldiered on. For our entrees my foodie cousin and partner in nom ordered the Pepper Steak and Gravy Fries. So lets stop right here. The gravy was so good that she DRANKTHELASTLITTLEBIT out of the cute little gravy boat. She gave me permission to post that so it can drive home how delicious it is. The steak was extremely flavorful, very tender, and the fries were awesome. I went with the Roasted Chicken with Stewed Mushrooms that came with a side of parsnip croquettes and burnt carrots. The chicken was plain ignorant. I mean, NOMMMSSSS. So flavorful, juicy and amazing. Although I side-eyed the burnt carrots on the menu, they were definitely my favorite along with the croquettes. Seriously, while we were eating I vowed that no more crappy food shall cross my lips because I swear when you are eating food this good you remember why that processed crap is a lie from the pits of hell. I’m serious, we had a religious moment to the point that my cousin named her wings«Jesus Wings» because surely this is what you eat in heaven. So the only thing we have left at this point is the dessert and we decided to split the Bread Pudding Pie. Baby, lets talk about that Bread Pudding Pie. Like for real with that?! I seriously heard Marvin Gaye’s «Let’s Get It On» after taking my first bite. It was literally that sexy! Fabulous cocktails, amazing staff, and to die for food, I give this place definitely 5 stars. This had to be the best weekday foodie find EVERRRRRRR!!! #nomnoire

After checking this place out on the new restaurants around town section on Unilocal then looking the pictures of the food the biscuit sand which with gravy looked so good I told my friends that we must go here for brunch. Then a few days before I checked out the menu and seen red velvet waffles what? I’m all in since I only seen a place on Unique Eats make this somewhere on the west coast. Sunday morning comes and I have to say that the parking lot of very small and having one popular spot next to a small place isn’t all that great but there is more parking up the street. I walk into this nice red building and I see my friends sitting there already having there coffee. We were some of the first groups one the place and while they were getting the place set up. Our waitress had a few other tables set up for others members in our parties but they didn’t show up they had no problem leaving room for other people arriving but it was nice of them to be so helpful. It looks like they have a wonderful cocktail menu not only for brunch but for the afternoon. Even though I wasn’t a n that head space I just got water. As far as for the food I got the biscuits and gravy while my friends and I chat about the least movie that came out the atmosphere is wonderful very laid back even the owner came out and asked if everything was okay. Our food arrived although mine looked good the chicken fried biscuit looked so good I could not stop looking over at it. Now the biscuits were a little hard for me but the inside but very soft ad chewy but I like my biscuits soft on the outside and inside. There was plenty of sausage in the gravy to make that spicy little kick while your chewing. Our waitress was very attentive filling our drinks and checking out at us. What happen while I was having my breakfast I see the red valet waffles across the dining room floor and out to the patio but it just looked so sweet for an early morning didn’t need a sugar rush to start the afternoon. I had a really fun time here and so I plan on being a regular this spot and eating my way thru the menu. Those fish tacos looks so good I’m going to have to try the regular menu. So many great options.

Really liked the ambiance of the place. Really wanted to type ambiance. Did it. Tried the goat cheese and bacon flatbread. It was alright. Too much tomato sauce and not enough bacon for my liking. Beer came in a cool goblet. Their selection of tap beers is a lil small so don’t come in thinking you are going to a beer garden. My friends cocktails were pretty good. Not usually a cocktail person cause they froofee, but all my friends enjoyed. I’d tell you the names but I don’t know them cause they froofee. OK, so food was so-so, not much beer selection, and you liked the froofee cocktails that you usually wouldn’t order. What gives with the 4-star review? So there was a bartender there, don’t know her name. But she… was…FREAKINGAWESOME. Talked to us the whole time. Told us some jokes. Showed some people on the patio how to eat sriracha. Was cute and smiled A TON. All around good experience with her. She even listened into our conversations a lil bit and gave us input on what we were saying(is that observant or creeeeeeppyy… I’ll take the former). Will give this place some more tries for their brunch menu cause I’m getting tired of eating at Spiral Diner and Jonathan’s Oakcliff all the time. BOOMGOESTHEDYNAMITE!

After coming here and enjoying myself immensely I’ve decided to spread the love. For some reason I feel like this building is cursed. Over the 5 years I’ve lived in OC, it has been almost 5 different places… something just doesn’t work. Also, the fact that its next Jonathon’s probably doesn’t help its business. Anyhoozie. MP and I went on a Friday night, around 9ish, sat at a great patio table. The menu looks delicious!!! Lots of gluten free options, veggie options, healthy, not so healthy and a FANTASTIC cocktail menu. I love a good margarita, but that sweet and sour mixture(ugh) that restaurants put in the drink gives me heartburn, so I’ve been staying clear of it. I told the server this after he asked what I liked and he said they make their own SS mixture and its delicious. So I took a chance, and good lord, it was delicious! No heartburn and just an all around delicious homemade margarita(ended up having two, FYI). MP had some beers they had on tap… not sure which ones cause I didn’t care. Sorry i’m not sorry. We started with the elotes which as stated in other reviews, deelish. I def recommend it if you haven’t had elotes before… lots of cheese… lots of sour cream… lots of yummy goodness. We ate it with our hands and had no shame *high 5*! I ordered the BLT(no B) with avocado, a fried egg and mayo. Um. This was incredible. People think I’m weird because I order dishes that spotlight bacon and I ask for it without, but with the egg, fresh tomatoes, etc… it was absolutely perfect. MP ordered the burger with a side salad(fresh leafy lettuce!) and the burger was cooked perfectly, juicy and topped with veggies, cheese and a spicy mayo. Other items they were bringing out for people looked yummo too… Boo, we didn’t get any dessert, but can we say«Cast Iron Smores Brownie»? OMG. Our waiter was good, he took care of us, answered our annoying first time questions, was quick and on point. Prices are super reasonable! With everything we ordered, our bill with tip was under $ 70, amazing for a Friday night out! We really enjoyed it… OC needs more cool, not flashy, casual places… Outpost is definitely that.

3.5 stars Came here for Saturday brunch and was very pleasantly surprised. I haven’t heard much buzz about this place and so I didn’t have super high expectations. Atmosphere: really nice and comforting. Dark wood. Upholstered bench backs. Nice patio. Beautiful light in the morning. Food: My husband proclaimed it the best basic eggs/bacon around town. I would agree. Egg was perfectly cooked. Potato cake was crispy & flavorful outside & soft inside. Toast was grilled. I had the pulled pork & johnnycakes. Enjoyed it very much. Excellent use of parsley to add a bright touch on a rich dish. Coffee was hot & dark and kept coming. For once, I didn’t drink at brunch, but looking forward to trying some bar selections next time. Come check this place out. Great hang out spot with great food and you don’t have to wait in a long ass line to get great service.
