Update: as per below response. Penelope — I emailed you twice. Could you email me back? Thanks! ;-) This location had gotten a lot better recently friendliness wise. Cassidy is super sweet!!! I would really like it though if they would get there machines together. I pay over $ 100 a month for the membership and I honestly may have to look elsewhere soon because I have told management numerous times that the versa spa leaks water on me when it sprays and it hasn’t been fixed for last 4 months. The other versa machine is just broken — for over 6 months now.

No idea why this place has bad reviews! I have had great experiences every time I have gone. In fact I think this location and staff is much better then other locations. They are one of two locations that has my favorite bed ever, the Sun Angel. It literally assesses your skin and the bed gives you a custom tan. 10 minutes of base tan and 10 minutes of golden tan. I have interacted with several of the staff and they are all super sweet. One time I forgot my lotion and rather then making me buy a sample they let me use a tester bottle. I really appreciate that and never had another location offer that. Last time I went in I tanned and then spray tanned. They were out of my spray tan color so they mixed me one up with different«extras» and didn’t charge me for it. This location is always clean and there is plenty of places to sit if you need to wait for a bed.

This location is very convenient to my apartment and they have plenty of parking available. The staff is usually friendly for the most part. They were a little pushy when i first signed up, but I guess that’s normal when your trying to sell something. I really like the color I get in their beds and it seems like they take care of the beds. The only issue I have is that some of the beds don’t have anything for you to put your head on, so it can get pretty uncomfortable.

When I first moved to Dallas 4 years ago I found Palm Beach Tan because they are located all over the city. I did like that the store I primarily used was located right next to my Gym. But, it’s a pretty consistent poor experience at all locations and I used several when patronizing this business. From associates that are crazy pushy to distasteful upcharge/add-on pricing strategies you will feel as though you’re buying a used car. For the right customer experience I will pay just about any price for something but it feels sleazy here. In the grand scheme of things you don’t have to mortgage your house to acquire their stuff it’s just their demeanor, sales strategy, and business model that is irritating from jump. As such, I will not use this business again and they have a location right next to my Gym. I freely choose to drive 20 minutes one way to another tanning business where I feel served and not nickeled & dimed. I will never return as a customer and I don’t care how conveniently they are located.

When it comes to chains like this you can almost always count on them all pretty much being the same. This location of PBT has way exceeded any experience I’ve had at other locations. They aren’t pushy with the sales, but they check to see if I need anything. Also, I left my necklace behind one morning and the next morning the girl was super helpful and gave it back when I described it. I usually go right when they open and I still am greeted with a smile so that’s nice. Also, they’ve got a good selection of beds.

All in all, I liked this location for the many options to tan. I can get a versa pro and a sun angel session whereas a lot of locations don’t offer that. It’s clean. Location convenient to my apartment. But like many other locations, the associates can be pushy. Unfortunately, my worst experience with an associate actually happened to be here. I got the most high-end contract they had to offer. This is exactly what happened. Associate T: «We have these two really good lotions, this one with X formula and this one with Y formula. Would you like this one?» Me: No Associate T: «okay so you want the other one?» Me: no. Associate T: «can I ask why not?» Me: can I just tan? Associate T: «what if I gave them to you for free would you take it?» Me: I guess. This is an example of my philosophy«if I know you want my money, we obviously don’t have the same incentives». They’re really quite shameless when it comes to their sales and having to make commission. Advice to management: encourage your employees to care about their customers. Advice to customers reading this: go to LUX tanning on Lemmon. I have a review for them as well.

Can’t say I would be a member here. Not so clean, associates are very pushy to buy something. That’s annoying. But looks nice

Great customer service! Short wait time for spray tans! I don’t tan in the beds but the spray tan rooms are always pretty clean. The color is always even & looks good for a spray tan.

I absolutely love tanning at this location! I don’t even have to give my name when I come in, they already know me. The staff is personable and asks how your day was and they are sweet people! I love this place!!!

At PBT, they oversell their lotions, but it’s clean and convenient. A tip: I’ve been tanning at PBT since 1996. When a kid that was not even BORN in 1996 tells me that I need to buy a packet of lotion for a 10-minute session(because I left my lotion at home), that’s just straight up annoying. But they have mirrors in the rooms, which is a big deal! They also tried to sell me 3 mystic tans for $ 120, which was positioned as «a really great deal.» In the last 6 months I have purchased 3 mystics for 60(or 4 for 60), so I’m not sure how this is a «good deal.» Frustrating :(

They do a great job — at not honoring their contracts. I purchased«7 days of sunbed tanning plus one spray tan» with a coupon that they sent to existing/previous customers. The only stipulation on the coupon was that the services need to be completed by 3⁄31. I was able to get 3 sunbed sessions and then I went out of town for 4 days. When I returned I was told sorry, but I had to do 7 days in a row even though that was never mentioned anywhere. There was also no mention of the spray tan that was included. They were happy to offer as a consolation prize the option for me to purchase additional days at full price. So if my bank hadn’t reversed the charge my 3 sunbed sessions would have cost me $ 18 each! On a previous occasion my poor wife went to get a Versa Spa spray tan at my suggestion since I had good luck with them. After declining all the overpriced lotions numerous times and telling the pushy sales douche that she wanted the«Clear» spray tan, he set her up with bronzer anyway and didn’t tell her. I guess her spray booth had a clogged nozzle or something because she came out looking like an orange dalmation. And the bronzer ruined her clothes. I’m not even going to go into the BS that the sales bimbos tell you when they’re pushing their $ 50 lotions with the same ingredients as Hawaiian Tropic – things like«it helps prevent skin damage” – which unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that a tan=skin damage. Not that 20 year old peroxide blondes have any more credibility than say, a talking horse or Glenn Beck, but still… In short, even though they offer healthy spray tans, I intend to avoid the place like melanoma.

First of all, let me say, that I do not condone tanning. I’m the first one to give my friends a hard time for this terrible habit. However, my cousin signed me up for some free tanning and well… she can talk a blind man into a buying a car. So, needless to say, I went and tanned. This location is amazing! Everything was super clean and they even gave me some free lotion to use since it was my first time there. They have one bed that you customizes to you skin pigmentation. Don’t ask me how, but I was in the bed for 20 minutes with my fair skin and did not burn. You press this thingie to your forehead and your inner arm and it adjust to you pigmentation. It even sprays aromatherapy at you while tan… I AMNOTKIDDING! So, if you’re not afraid of a few cancerous UV rays, give palm beach a try.
