Excellent stop in Uptown for date night. West Village valet is right behind the building, making it easy to park and get to. My honey and I both started with some Sapporo beers and then had miso soup and an order of spicy tuna rolls to start. For dinner we each had an order of mixed sushi and all of it was very well prepared and nicely presented. Service was excellent and the décor of the restaurant was on the upscale side and trendy. All the food and drinks seemed to be well priced– much better than any other sushi place I have seen in Uptown.

Stopped in for happy hour while I was in uptown. $ 3 wells and sushi specials. Tried the ribeye roll. a little fatty had to chew a lot. Also tried the California Roll. Cliché, I know, but I love them. Everything was fresh and the bartenders were super friendly. Loved the décor too! There was a delay with my order, and it was not too busy. The bartender told me he would only charged me for 1 drink, but it was not at the happy hour price, so not really a discount. Lost a star for that just because most places give you the happy hour price automatically. Anyway, based on the friendliness, I will definitely try The Fish again, probably on a Saturday.

CANNOTGETENOUGHOFTHISPLACE. If I could live here I would. I am new to Dallas and this is the best sushi I have found thus far. AMAZING happy hour menu. EVERYTHING they serve is to die for. Have yet to have anything I do not care for. Great location. Super cute resturant.

Excellent quality fish and I’m always happy to pay a little extra for ambiance and visually pleasing surroundings. They’ve clearly spent some money on décor. My server was friendly and professional. The price was right for the quality and the surroundings. I was there for the happy hour discounts on some appetizers. The calamari was nice, light and well seasoned. I look forward to returning there.

Always had a great meal here, the staff is great, very attentive. My friend had his birthday party here and they managed to take care of all 40 something of us very efficiently and with no slip ups. Great little place to grab a bite and the reverse happy hour is a great deal! Be warned, on DJ nights it gets a little loud, and very very very very asian invasion… I felt like I was back in Chinatown in SF.

The lunch menu is limited and non-descriptive. The miso soup is delicious, has mushrooms, nori, tofu, and green onions. Portions aren’t bad for $ 12. Lunch service was fast, which allowed me to take a 30 minute lunch. I will definitely return.

I was fishin’ around Uptown for a happy hour spot and ended up here. Two words… EFFFFBOMB! We ordered it back to back and it was so good, it made me wanna drop an f bomb in this review. But Ill keep it PG-13. Such a trendy little spot! But don’t let the super swanky décor throw you off because they are all about specials here… $ 2 wells and $ 5 house wines. Food specials range from $ 3 to $ 6 and are prepared fresh to order. We also had the dynamite shrimp and spicy tuna roll. I’m not a huge sushi fan, but I was still full, satisfied, and happy. No wait for seating and our waitor was friendly and speedy. If the weather permits, grab a sear on their patio to get some good people-watching in.

the fish is a pretty bumping sushi joint. it’s the trendier, younger version of kona grill. however, i really dislike kona grill. i’d rather go to the fish. service was great. skinny, young asian girls waiting tables make me barf cuz they are so tiny. they look like they are 15. it’s just me being jealous. mussels — just ok. nice portions, plump mussels, taste was alright. mussels at vickery park are much better. big 3 sushi roll — best roll of the night. fresh slices of tuna and salmon. yummy raw fish! calamari — standard good app. pretty good, but nothing special. spider roll — pretty good. not fishy. banana egg roll — very good. anything fried is good especially with ice cream! lickity split — specialty roll was a lot of sauce. i forgot the fish. it was a pretty forgettable roll. all in all, it’s a decent sushi place in the uptown area. my go-to sushi joint is still deep sushi in deep ellum, however.

I’ve been here a few times and I like to keep it in the rotation. The rolls have always been fresh. I love the tower. There are better sushi places I think, but this is on my top 10 places in Uptown. Service has always been great and I have used my Groupon with no issues.

We always enjoy this place. This time we sat at the bar and what do you know? They had happy hour specials. I ordered my usual but my friends ordered the Lychee Martini. I kept drinking from their glass as it was so freaking good. Our Bartender Ter made the lychee drinks with perfection as each one was really good. We even asked for extra lychee… Mmmmmmm She was very attentive and nice. Be aware, they will charge extra if you upgrade the vodka for each drink. I believe it was $ 3 which made the lychee martini $ 13.50. Food: I ordered spicy edamame and it was really good. It had plenty of seasoning and was really fresh. My friends ordered the Lobster Crisps and dynamite shrimp. I am not a fan of lobster but the Lobster Crisps was really good. The dynamite shrimp was great as well and had a kick! These were all on the happy hour special and each one were less than $ 5. Can’t beat that? I loved the ambience here. This is a very well decorated place and even the bathrooms were kept clean. They also have DJ there spinning.

I generally am not good at sharing because I tend to be a picky eater but decided to share with the table. We started off with sharing the spicy edamame and it was spicy, garlicy and amazing. We shared four rolls across the table: The Philly plus cucumber, Breezy roll(spicy tuna, avocado, mint), 420 roll(salmon, avocado, jalapeño, seaweed salad, creamy sauce), The«F» Bomb(crab, crawfish, jalapeño, sweet and sour sauce… fried). Allow me to rank them from best to least favorite: 1. The«F» Bomb. Amazing. maybe in part due to its friedness and that I haven’t had anything fried in a long time but it was super tasty. 2. 420 roll. I have to admit that the seaweed salad wasn’t amazing… there was a sweet taste to it and I don’t like sweet in a meal. Once removed it was just fine though. 3. Breezy roll… I didn’t like the mint though. Once I picked it off it still tasted like mint. 4. The Philly roll. This one was my choice too but compared to the others I thought it lacked flavor. I still give four stars because the sushi was fresh, they don’t use too much rice, and the rolls were inventive… I simply look forward to trying others on the list. To top it all off they were running a special where you get a gift card matching what you spent to come back another time(just not after 5pm on a Sat or Sun). Umm, come back for free? Yes, please!

My review is based on coming here with a group during a Friday Happy Hour, so keep this in mind. I love love love sushi & sashimi. I was disappointed at how bad their rolls and super super thin sashimi looked that I did not even try either. I did however try the spicy edamame and can say it is AMAZEBALLS! I must say this place probably isn’t the best choice for groups larger than 6 unless you’ve reserved space. They have some counter heit tables which seat 8, but I think we squeezed in 10. I do like the trendy ambiance and décor of the restaurant. I would not come for dinner, but I’d return for happy hour(with fewer folks) since they have $ 2 Ace pear cider(10 oz or so-not pints), which I don’t find everywhere and for their happy hour spicy edamame($ 3 or $ 4) and calamari(small portion). Our waitress was just so-so. She definitely was not the epitome of friendly service with a smile. Also good to know is they won’t split checks more than 5 ways, I believe is what we were told.

Ohh the specials! Thursday — $ 2 wells, $ 2 hot sake, $ 5 rolls, 5−7pm and 9pm-midnight Every other day, 5−7pm happy hour that includes the above food and drink specials. Fish is fresh and tasty. Deals are pretty good for a fancy sushi joint.

What a wonderful little sushi place! From the atmosphere to the food, everything was PERFECT! I came here with a group of girlfriends last weekend. We were almost 30 minutes late, but they held our table for us, which was wonderful. We were seated immediately and it was none of this«hello neighbor, what are you eating?» situation– plenty of space! Our waiter was so great, I wish I could remember his name because I would totally call him out here! He was super attentive, cracking jokes, and even gave everyone at the table free saki bombs when he found out it was my bachelorette dinner! The food was great and the service was perfect… the food came out at the right pace and we were never rushing to finish one roll nor we were tapping our fingers on the table for the next. My favorite roll was the«F Bomb» … that sushi was AMAZING… we ordered some and then once realized how great it is, immediately put in an order for another. I’m not from Dallas but next time I’m in town, I’m totally checking this place out again! From what I gathered in my short trip to Texas, even the area was super cute!

************************** 632 ************************** The Fish Dallas is a walking distance from my brother’s place. He was nervous to show me seafood or sushi spot in Dallas, well, deifnitely no where near NYC of SF, but I was opened-minded. I was surprised by this hot spot, it reminded of Tsunami or Ozumo San Francisco. Cool lounge, bar, and the beautiful 19 years half Vietnamese hostess nervously greeted our group of four! Impressive rolls menu, although, no Uni, Tono, Mirugai, nor Aji were availbale! Hey it’s mainland Texas, I get it! Alhthough we got plenty of good sushi: — Octopus sashimi, maguro, sake, hamachi, shiso maguro were all decent! — Rainbow rolls, spicy tuna and salmon skin handrolls were good! — other tataki was nice. Thumbs up the Mexican and Puerto Rican chefs for accommodated my requests on certain dishes, oyster shots and hamachi shots, thank you! The cold sake was decent too. I was impressed by the whole experience, that’s all! I’ll definitely come back next month!

Thought this place was fab. Despite other reviews we had great service and of course a yummy meal. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the happy hour drink specials. $ 2 beers and $ 5 glasses of wine(other specials offered also). Started out with edamame and the lobster and crab crisps… Fried pieces of heaven that melts in your mouth. For dinner we shared three rolls; the spider roll, the hurricane and the lickitty split. If you like craw fish don’t miss the hurricane, it was so flavorful and pretty to look at. The star of the show… The lickitty split. tuna, yellowtail, avocado, soft shell crab and salmon — D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. We left feeling satisfied and not uncomfortably full — standard prices for good sushi — our bill was around $ 45. Not bad! I look forward to my next visit and trying the other interesting rolls on the menu.

The wife and I just went to The Fish for International Women’s Day(not commonly celebrated in the US). It was a weeknight so reservations were not needed. The adventure started poorly. We entered and the hostess proceeded to ignore us for about a minute. No eye contact, no hello, no good evening, no nothing to acknowledge any appreciation that we were going to spend money that would help keep her employed. So we stood and waited, and waited and waited. When the princess-hostess finished her extraordinarily important business, whatever she was doing on the computer in a restaurant that was 1⁄3 full, she deigned to acknowledge our presence. We are seated at a table, no query whether we wanted a booth even though one was available. And then the wait begins again. No water, no drinks, no nothing. Ten minutes go by. Other patrons are seated and get their drinks by the time our waiter comes by for the drink order. By then I am urging the wife to leave because this obviously is going to be a disaster. We decide to stick it out, and ultimately we are glad that we did. The food was outstanding, clearly some of the best sushi we have had in Dallas. We started with Dynamite Shrimp as an appetizer, crispy tempura shrimp with a spicy sauce. It was excellent. Then we ordered some rolls: Bubba Gump, Big 3, Alaskan, and Cali Snow Roll. All were very good, but the best IMO were the Bubba Gump and the Alaskan. The sushi was uniformly fresh with very good flavor. We really enjoyed it! We will definitely return, but I will not tolerate substandard service again. The waiter failed to thank us for our business or wish a good night, although a manager-type did say good night on our way out. Summary: service is really bad, bordering on horrible, 1 star. Food is excellent, easily a 5 star. By the way, that is the coolest faucet in the men’s room that I have ever seen. Ultra modern. Unfortunately, the sensor that turns on the water is very sensitive so virtually any movement in the room turns on the water. I would hate to see their water bill.

I’ve gotten to like this place the more I go. Prices are moderate, service is pretty friendly and the restaurant always looks clean. Pop into the bathroom, they have an interesting sink area. I recently experienced the hot rock which was pretty neat. Reminded me of Korean bbq and the beef was tender and yummy! Shisito peppers and crab/lobster crisps were also tasted. The peppers were pleasant and not at all spicy. It’s always so nice to be able to go with a group and try out a couple of items. For rolls, most recently I tried their crunch roll(yellowtail, tempura flakes, masago, green onion) and their spiro(spicy tuna, cucumber, salmon, avocado, spicy sauce) both were solid but nothing over the top special. I wasn’t very fond of the western roll or the big 3 roll. The fried leeks on the western was grass like, it reminded us of a tumbleweed. Big 3 lacked any pizazz and frankly, I found it to taste a bit dry. On Tuesday, it’s 2 dollar wells till 11. That’s good enough reason to head on in and give it a try!
