If looking for a nice spot come here. Great quality of staff and drinks. Nice choice and pricing on some fine spirits and cigars. Told bartender I was driving and gave me soda with out askin refilled my glass without being mad

My husband and I both have a lot of experience in the food service industry so it’s pretty hard to upset us — especially if we’re drinking. We understand that we’re not the only people in the in the restaurant. That said, The Barrel Bar has good food, great drink selection, fun atmosphere, but poor service. From what we saw, it wasn’t so much our servers fault as it was just a major lack of organization among the staff. And we had plenty of time to watch how everyone worked because we were there for quite a while. What should have been an hour or so dinner, was over two hours long. Most of it spent with empty drinks and dirty dishes on our table. Maybe it was just a rough night. But from what we witnessed, the staff has no idea how to work as a team. Apart from the bartender –who was great– the staff members were only concerned about their own individual responsibilities. In a place as small as this(maybe 10 tables plus the bar) a five man team should be able to rock out a busy Friday and turn tables with ease.

Great pulled pork sandwich and skinny fries. My friend had chicken wings. They were messy! but awesome. Said they were the best ever. Got to go back because there were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try it was hard to decide what to order.

This was my second visit to this restaurant this week. I like the atmosphere, the live music, and the staff. The menu is a little limited and eclectic but has enough to choose from. The beer and wine selection is decent. I’ve had the Cuban, wings, and two different flatbreads. The buffalo chicken flatbread is highly recommended. The main complaint I have is that on the two visits this week(6 days apart) they were out of 4 different beer selections and in the last visit were completely out of wings. It is difficult to understand how a location with a limited menu and mainly a «bar» menu runs out of wings and is out if popular beer selections. In order to keep me coming back thus establishment needs to correct the delivery and stocking issues.

Fairly cool atmosphere for a strip mall. The proprietors have emulated Katie’s Pizza in altering the feel of strip mall/parking lot space. There’s a lot with weeds and vegetation across the street, so for a moment, you can pretend you’re not a captive in Suburban Nation. The alcohol is top notch but the food is rather meh. I would only go back if people I was meeting absolutely wanted to go there.

Well I am not sure about all the bad reviews. Bitter? Disgruntled employees? But the atmosphere was great. Something you would find in the city. The hospitality for me and my boyfriend. Was great. It’s small enough how do you all not feel close and comfort? The food. Well I picked the Mac n cheese bites, for grown ups. Which appears you need to be to frequent this establishment. Also the crabby balls and the barrel rolls. All ingredients you can’t go wrong with. The whisky and beer selection was awesome. I chose a bottle of Pinot noir from my home area. My boyfriend had a whisky drink. 100% satisfaction. I enjoyed the clientele bathe entertainment on Friday and Thursday’s is awesome.

Good place in St Charles county to smoke a cigar inside during the winter… Humidor, extensive wines for sale by bottle and food.

I like to check different places out in the area and gave this place a try. The staff was so-so on service. The drinks were way over priced, and and the food was not good at all. It was less than mediocre bar food. We spent way too much money,($ 100) on mediocre food and drinks. Won’t go back again.

I really really really wanted to like this place. They have a cute little patio, decent beer choices, and are close to home. I’ve gone there twice and have left disappointed both times. The food wasn’t cooked all the way(which we ordered all appetizers for our dinner… pretzels, potato skins, and wings). We ended up getting it all boxed to go and recooking it at home. The second time we decided we were just going to buy some craft beer to take home from the store, but they had weird rules about what types of beer you could buy with what. Then we asked if we would be able to bring our dogs out on the patio and the guys response was to laugh and say that the health department would fry his ass. Soo uhhh yea… Interesting. A simple no would have worked.

Don’t really know what the hype is all about. The drink selection was limited. The service is slow. The food is average at best. There are only a few places to smoke a cigar around and that is all this place has going. I would suggest you look around for other options.

Quaint and awesome sums this place up. Great bourbon selections. Great wine selections. The artisan meat and cheese platter was awesome and plentiful. I’d love it to go… anywhere! The nut mix is glazed with maple syrup and a blend of bacon and pretzels. WOW! Honestly there’s not a choice on the menu I wouldn’t enjoy. We’ve only been a couple times and both times the food, drink and staff have been excellent. We brought our teenager with us(outside of peek bar time) and he raved about the mahi mahi tacos. I would have nothing but good things to say about this little gem in o’fallon(except the unisex bathroom is a bit different). Also has a great little outdoor patio. Definite 5 star in my opinion!

Excellent beer and wine selection. Amazing whiskey and scotch selection. Friendly staff and very friendly owner. The cigar selection and an option to smoke your own tops it off. For a guys night out over cigars this is the place. For the ladies, wine choice is incredible and if you sit outside or inside cigar smoke is not an issue.

Great selection of local beer & spirits… Order by the glass or purchase a bottle to take home. Cigar lounge is an excellent bonus! I recommend the Barrel Rolls in any variety offered.

Sometimes the suburbs get it right, and the Barrel Bar is all kinds of right, in particular for me, cigars, tobacco and a cigar lounge. Used to have to drive 45 minutes to find a good quality cigar lounge not anymore. I’m not a drinker and I didn’t eat there but I’ve heard good things. Shelley the owner seems to really care; great service staff.

Love this place. Uniquely engaged owners who are passionate about their customers experience. Outstanding selection of Scotch and other whiskeys and cigars. Great environment for the non-smoker as well. Kitchen offerings soon to expand. Outdoor patio is comfortable and spacious. Strong supporters of local micro brewers. Wine selections are plentiful and high value for price point. Separate smoking room was a cigar lovers delight.

Just went here off a coworkers recommendation and will certainly be back. The staff was very friendly and it had a very laid back atmosphere. The craft beer and whisky selection is great and the fact that they have an area to smoke cigars is icing on the cake. Good bar in St Charles County.

I like this place it’s new and offers a great environment and superior products. The wine they offer are boutique and come from smaller wineries but they are the best of the best! Sherri(hope I spelt that right) is very familiar with all of her products. No question will go unanswered when asked. As far as food they have hired a chef and I’m looking forward to tasting what he will be offering. Please check this place out!

My boss and I met another person here to have whiskey, a cigar, and bar snacks. When we first went inside, we realized it was too loud in there so we asked if we could sit outside on their patio since it had finally cooled down. We went outside and the waitress propped open the door so could hear the music from the inside. The bartender then came out and closed the door. They played that game about 4 times before I told the waitress who was closing the door. We ordered 2 Irish whiskey’s on the rocks and a domestic whiskey. We had some supposedly hot wings and fries plus a stuffed pretzel. We also picked up 3 cigars none of them over $ 5. We were shocked when our bill came and it was for $ 115. They charged us $ 30 for each of those glasses of Irish whiskey. I could have bought a fifth for cheaper than that. I have NEVER had to pay $ 30 for a glass of whiskey on the rocks. The«hot» wings were not deep fried but they were breaded. They weren’t hot on the inside. The sauce could NOT be called a buffalo sauce. It looked disgusting. I believe that they got the breaded wings from Costco and cooked them in the microwave. It was rubbery, cool to the touch and had no flavor resembling a buffalo wing. The fries were good. The pretzel was ok. The cigars kept going out and my boss thought there was something wrong with their humidor. I reminded him that when we walked in, it didn’t feel any different than the room we left. We will not be returning. Instead, we will go to Aiello’s and bring in our own food… at least it will be edible. I still can’t get over charging $ 30 for a glass of Bushmills.
