Good beer selection. Friendly staff and owner. Fried pickles and Jameson BBQ pulled pork pub chips are delicious

Solid quality. Not every Irish dish is fantastic, I prefer the boxtys. They often have good local beer on tap.

Hubby and I weren’t expecting the Salmon Boxty to be as incredibly delicious as it is. We were pleasantly surprised by the Lemon Caper sauce on top. A Boxty is a thin light potato pancake. The salmon was grilled to perfection. Hubby is usually hard to please when it comes to sauces, but he actually closed his eye and moaned a little with the mixtures of cream, lemon and capers. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention our server BJ who was friendly and right on top of everything. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and by the time we left we knew we’d found a new favorite spot.

To: Owner of Murphy’s Dear Sir/Madam RE: Complaint against Bad Service/lack of simple accommodations I wish to make a formal complaint against your restaurant manager over his bad service and lack of simple accommodations. This was the 2nd time over a two week period that meeting your manager, young white male, was very disappointing. The first evening there were 4 of us for a Friday night dinner. When we arrived at our table there was gum stuck to our table and the menus were placed on top. As we pulled the menus, the gum was stuck and we had a sticky mess. We asked for the gum to be please be removed and wiped off. The manager came to remove the gum but he was not apologetic or polite about the matter. Not a big deal, but attitude was noted by us from manager. Later, my husband and I came on a Saturday night to listen to a jazz musician, June 6th, I think. But I was greatly disappointed that my evening was spoiled by the poor attitude of your young male manager, and the lack of jazz singer appearing. The manager was unprofessional in his service, attitude of superiority, and lack of listening. His condescending attitude was a real damper for us and the table next to us. I had ordered, as I have in the past several years, tomatoes on the side with no fries and no bread for my burger. I do not eat carbs so this is a dietary meal of mine. As I have said, I go everywhere and order the same, tomatoes in place of fries and no bun and NEVER have I ever been charged extra, even at your place over the years. Romers, El Toro, Chappys, Ladder 7, Bargos, Applebees, Outback Steak, and J Alexanders are just a few. Your waitress was very nice and apologetic but your manager was rude and would not listen to reason. As a matter of fact, after he left, the table next to us laughed and said, «He is the manager? What a way to treat customers!» He came back and said he talked to you, the owner of Murphy’s, and no way can he replace fries and bun with tomatoes without a cost. REALLY? The restaurant was empty and do you not want our business? He said, he would this ONE time only allow us tomatoes without a cost. So we paid for our beers and left and never to return. My friends and I are not apt to return to your restaurant in the future. Yours sincerely,
Jonell W.

Tried them on a Saturday night. Not real busy. The onion rings were OK, but not nearly as exceptional as the waitress tried to sell us. Salmon boxty was a valiant attempt, but I’ve had better. Ribeye steak was OK, not great — came out undercooked from a not-busy kitchen, but sent it back and it came back better. Not the best steaks I’ve had, but not the worst either. Drinks were undersized — I’ve never seen an official Guinness glass that small. Décor is kind of plain. TVs everywhere, but the place is one big room. No atmosphere to speak of. Wasn’t terrible, but there’s no real reason to go back.

Went there at 10:30 pm on a Saturday night and they said it was already last call. Entire staff acted like they couldn’t wait to close. Will not be returning.

This is my parents’ favorite restaurant. That led me to buy them a gift certificate for Christmas. They visited this past Friday evening & were EXTREMELYDISAPPOINTED to learn that the balance left on the gift certificate after their first purchase is LOST! Luckily they were celebrating some good news & only had about $ 6 left, but the waiter told them that no matter the amount, the dollar value is LOST. Terrible policy!!! I have never been to this place & don’t plan to give them any more of my money unless I’ve heard that this policy has changed. Boo Murphy’s!

Had dinner here tonight; the Reuben was great! Corned beef so good. The cole slaw was wonderful; always a trial to find a good slaw when dining out. The bar area and general seating area nicely decorated. Service was attentive as well. Give Murphy’s a try!

My Wife and I rode in for dinner and to watch football. Nice outdoor seating. I had Bangers and Mash. Wife had fish sandwich dinner. Large portions. Food was very good. Service was above average. Indoor and out, atmosphere was very appropriate for an Irish Pub. We recommend Murphy’s Irish Pub & Grille.

Food is so so, and expensive for what it is. I would not recommend. Better restaurants in the area for the money.

My wife and I went to Murphy’s this evening and will not be going back, unfortunately. The wait staff was pretty good and that’s about it. The table placement we got was off to the side in a high traffic area and we got bumped into a couple times. The food was below average. We both had burgers that were unseasoned and tasted like they were frozen. The sides were the same, unseasoned and tasted like something I could get at a grocery store. I had high hopes but we will not be returning.

Came here for the 1st time Sat nite. Got Sat on the patio. No one bothered to greet our table. The management staff was clueless. So we took off. On our way out which was 15 min after we sat down I said to the hostess who seated us, «thanks a lot everything was great» sarcastically of course. She didn’t get it. The place is really generic and cheesy. I won’t be back. P. S. It smells of dirty fryer oil.

The food was great and the service was good. Food took a little longer than usual to come out but it was worth the wait. We ordered everything from cheese fries to hot wings to burgers and everyone loved their meal. Atmosphere is great for families, small groups or general casual dining.

Pro: daughter liked her fish sandwich OK: Salmon boxty… needed more sauce, fish overdone Cons: we all received our meals at different times, husbands sliders: the buns were HARD and barely edible, onion rings: the breading fell off, and they tried to charge us $ 6.99 for them when we ordered them as a side(there were about 6 rings), domestic beers were $ 3.95 We were hoping for better. We may give it another try

Unsatisfying to say the least. Fish and chips included a very large piece of fish, but it was very overdone which made a hard breading and dry fish. The Reuben sandwich tasted like skyline chili, an odd cinnamon flavor that isn’t what you think of in a Reuben. My son had boneless wings and there wasn’t much left of them, as those were also over cooked. We will not be returning.

We decided to try Murphy’s after noticing the name change. It was not busy, but it was Memorial Day and most were cooking out. I had the fish and chips and I must say it were great. Very light, not greasy. My husband had the philly cheese steak which he said was tasty but slightly over cooked. We will definitely come back

I just came from this place, not only is Katie E wrong about guinness because it’s ontap but they have Murphys irish stout as the house beer ontap. I would challenge anyone in the area to find a more authentic irish pub. Food was great. Place is beautiful. I’ll be there every Friday.

Just opened and the usual and expected opening night mess ups, despite doubling of kitchen staff(or maybe because of it) service was much slower than normal. But the food was worth the wait, if this place can keep up with the quality of food it will be a winner. Hubby had the fried fish, it was huge, son had the burger, meh ordered medium, came out medium rare, but this is supposed to be an Irish restaurant. It has the usual American bar food, sandwiches, burgers, sandwiches including a Reuben, salads. They tried to give an Irish name to chicken with pasta and tomato sauce bur also have a traditional shepherd’s pie. Outstanding was a dish called boxty, a potato pancake stuffed with corned beef and fresh chopped cabbage topped by a creamy sauce laced with parsley. The same potato pancake is also offered with a variety of other fillings. Good bye diet. Murphy’s is not truly an Irish pub, lacks the Guinness offering. The wait time was not really bad, european timing rather than American which seeks to turn over the tables quickly. If this place can keep up the food quality, they have a hit. Worth it to give it a try, they are located at the old Barleycorn restaurant.
