Very good food. The tamales are great The service was good and it wasn’t crowded which is sometimes a turn off even if the food is good. The combo plate with a chili relleno and I got the red sauce was very tasty. They have sweet tea but you have to specifically ask for it and they will bring you a glass. Service wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really busy either. Try this place, our experience seems to be better than others here had after reading the reviews… it happens.

Food was not very good … The chicken tasted like it was old, also the wait staff and hostess were not very friendly. I do not recommend this place at all.

Wait staff… not too friendly. Plated food looked drab and sloppy. The red enchilada sauce was bland, salty and watery. Disappointing. Nothing like the old beloved Casa Jurado that was on Cincinati so many years ago.

The service was bad. The waiters were rude. We had to call them over to give us refills on our drinks. When they finally came over they acted like it was a bother to help us. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the tortillas did not taste fresh. My friend and I will not be returning there anytime soon.

Nicknamed«Casa J» this restaurant is tired & true. If you’re going to Casa J you need to order their green chili queso to start. It is truly the best in town. Incredibly flavorful, and creamy with chunks of green chili and onion. If you’re having lunch or dinner they are known for their: 1.) chilli rellenos 2.) ground beef gorditas 3.) salpicon salad Their portions are pretty big and can be shared if you have a small appetite! Especially if you have the queso first. The service is always ok, the food comes out fast. Be sure to try their house margarita on the rocks! It’s the perfect thing to wash down all those chips! This restaurant is defiantly a go to for Mexican food!

We love Casa Jurado! Waiters are great, food is delicious! Love the atmosphere! Best margaritas too! The combo plates are great but the chicken mole is one of our favs!

I go to Casa Jurado whenever I’m back in El Paso and have always been very impressed with the quality of their food.(The one on Cincinatti closed but this one’s got the same taste.) The sauces, especially on the enchiladas and chile rellenos, are not too heavy or too light. The emphasis is definitely on creating the right taste. Too often, Mexican places rely too much on heavy oil, cheese, and fat, but this place uses just enough to make it taste great without leaving your stomach feeling sorry for having eaten it all. Definitely well worth a visit.

This place was dirty, smelly, and the staff was very rude. They got my order wrong and the food wasn’t very good.

Casa Jurado you get cuatro y medio puntos(4.5 for you gringos: P) The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is the inconsistency over the years but lately its been pretty good. This is my must go place when I visit El Paso and can honestly say I have returned every time for the last 8 years. I think its a mom n pop owned place and its comforting to see the same older caballero with his glorious moustache take my order for the last decade. Every dish I’ve had runs from good to great, whether it be the tampiquena, chile rellenos, milanesa, or any of the standard enchiladas or tacos. Two things in particular stand out at this place. Number one: The tres leches are home-made and the best I’ve ever had. If you come with me, get your own unless you want your hand bitten off by me like an aggressive dog with a cheeseburger. Number two: The salsa is freakin awesome! Although its a bit different in its flavor and watery texture this stuff packs some good spice with unique tomatoey gusto . The décor is like any typical mexican restaurant and dive bar in El Paso. Its cheesy with beer banners and Miner paraphernalia everywhere but who cares, I rarely look up but to take an occasional breath from my voracious nomming. They have a full bar too but I only go here to eat. Bottom-Line: Among the hoard of good mexican restaurants I find myself at this one the most. Orale!

Good Mexican food with a decent ambiance. Margaritas are good, but go for the single-serve rather than the pitcher(a little weak).

The food here is pretty good… not incredible, but not bad. However the margaritas are really bad.

I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl, so it does have a special place in my heart. Since I no longer live in El Paso, the visits have been less frequent but I have been a couple times over the last few years. Unfortunately, on these visits, the food has been wildly inconsistent. A past favorite had been the spinach enchiladas. They are, er, were very tasty. Unfortunately, the time before last I was there, they made my tummy VERY unhappy. :(On my most recent visit, I had the chicken flautas and I just wasn’t impressed. The chicken tasted dry. HOWEVER, the table salsa was INCREDIBLE. I couldn’t stop eating it. Casa Jurado is at least a sentimental favorite, if not an actual favorite. Also, I believe that this Casa Jurado and the one on Cincinnati are no longer owned by the same people.
