Very retro old time diner décor allows you to escape from your typical modern life. It’s like going in a time warp to a car hop. We had shakes, ice cream sundaes, cherry cokes and root beer floats to go with our array of appetizers. The fried mushrooms, fried pickles and fried cheese are just as they were 20 years ago when I used to come here while in high school

I agree with most: dirty place and food was proportioned small. For a $ 9 burger, ¼ lb meat patty the pineapple on the burger had three little wedges. Fries were limp. The dried out Rueban sandwich had 4oz of meat, basically more bread than meat. Manager had an attitude, told me «I will fix the bill since that is apparently the problem», it was not. The problem is the food was not even edible. After being talked down to we left and fed the dogs with the leftovers, surprise they ate it.

They are going for a vintage dinner look but the place was pretty dirty looking. Nachos were excellent and the beer was ice cold. Great bar tender but the bar needs to be updated. Lots of T. Vs just not the right atmosphere for me.

The 2 stars for me is completely based on the food. I grew up coming to Hudson’s on a regular basis. I have since moved away, and I am here visiting. I thought I would pop in for lunch at one of my formerly favorite places in El Paso. Everything was as I remember, except the food. Quality has gone down big time. Fries tasted as if they had been frozen for a long time. Burger was bland, and not cooked properly. It always scares me when you go to a burger place and their«standard temp» is medium well. Beer from tap was also flat. Service from the bartender was great. Very friendly. Unfortunately, the great service is not enough to sway me to try this childhood favorite again.

Good food, nice ambiance, reasonable prices. This place has been a classic outing for a while now. Now I bring my kids here to enjoy good food and friendly atmosphere. On this occasion the server was very slow at taking our drink and food order. In fact, I am not sure we ever met him/her. But luckily another server checked on us, got our orders filled right away and life was good. You can watch tv while you eat as well plus a nice bar is also available to sit at. We come here about once or twice a year… its a classic and the food is always reliable.

I’m a pretty harsh critic when it comes to food, but I really liked this joint! Live music on a Wednesday night! Not a blaring juke box! :-) the food overall was delish! My only complaint is the fries, they were pretty to look at, but were pretty yucky from the first to the tenth grease soaked one, after that I stopped. I had the fish and chips, it was good! Hub had the chicken Alfredo, said it was delish as well! We will go back again! Plus its Bears friendly! Made it even better of a choice!#

Have been coming here since I was young and now we’re bringing our own children, especially to see The Magic Guy. Had a long day yesterday, so we took the kids for some wings, burgers and cherry cokes and he did the magic trick that put our card on the ceiling; been waiting 20 years for that. He is amazing, the food is consistent, the service is A+ and El Paso is very fortunate to have such a cool thing going. Thanks to The Magic Guy and Hudsons for making our day. This is a story our kids will be telling their kids one day.

Don’t come here. Service is bad, waitress was MIA our whole time at restaurant. We had to keep looking for a server to get plates, napkins and even check. Food was not good either. Ordered a hamburger and bread was soggy. Ordered nachos also and refried beans tasted like they were from a can. Not coming back any time soon.

It really makes me sad to write such a negative review about an establishment I used to think was really good, especially from my childhood. I ordered my food, the Bleu Bacon Burger, that was relatively new to the menu, or at least from the waitresses knowledge. I asked what was in the burger and upon learning there was mustard and no pickles, I asked for the burger NOT to have pickles and mustard. As I waited for my burger, I noticed other patrons getting up and asking for silver ware and trying to get the attention of their waitresses. I had gotten my burger 20 minutes later to find that the order was messed up. I told her about it, she ensured me that she would replace it. After waiting 10 minutes for her to return in order to get buffalo sauce, I went to bar area to find her EATING. I told her immediately to retract my order. They should have designated breaks in order to eat while not serving food or at least have a manager that enforces this. This has not been the first time I had an issue with this restaurant. I WILLNOTEVER go back to this restaurant and I urge all of you NOT to go. –A disappointed foodie

Disappointing. The establishment is really run down and the food was average at best. There was a magician walking around the restaurant… not sure my 7 year old was extremely fond of him. Just wanted to eat my food in peace but we humored him anyway. Took forever for him to leave. I would say skip this place. El Paso has too many places to eat to settle for this place, which probably should have been torn down a long time ago.

Took my kiddos in for a fun dinner tonight and got exactly the opposite! Very disappointed in the server. Unfriendly fellow! My order was incorrect, no offer to refill our drinks, i had to ask for silverware & napkins and he never brought my kiddos their TootsiePops??? Called manager when I got home and he told me he was UNABLE to make good since we already left??? Really??? We define tell WON’T be going there again!!!

I like it here, my son likes it here. The retro look with the car coming out the wall never gets old. The food is always good, from the wings to the burgers to the fries and even the soup. I think I have tried almost everything on the menu. We also love the milkshakes. When you order one they bring it out in the glass with the whipped cream and cherry, but also bring what was made and didn’t fit in the glass in the mixer cup. Makes it fun and easy to share. It can get full at night and on the weekends but with the wait in my opinion. Could use some updating, but we love it.

Excellent malts! The rest of the food is average. If you’re in the need for a decent burger that’s not fast food this is a good place to look.

So Hudson’s, eating there reminded me of the good old days back in the cafeteria at Scottsdale elementary, but at least at Scottsdale they didn’t charge 6+dollars for bargain brand 50cent sliders, the service was better back there too. In the middle of the afternoon on a wednesday with maybe 2 other occupied tables the waiter couldn’t be bothered to refill my water, even after I asked him, while some poor kid microwaves my bland burger somewhere in the back. Just being there hurt my soul, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, none of the workers looked like they liked their jobs and who could blame them. The music sucked no one knew the difference between a malt and a shake, granted neither do I but since they are listed separately on the menu I thought it would be a fair question to ask. I had the shake, I wasn’t impressed. So anyway I ordered their queso burger or some such little did I know just how competitive Scottsdale actually was with this place no self respecting mexican could call that goop queso because you know what it was? That orange stuff that comes out of a box, you probably know it from your local sporting event where they douse chips in it and call it nachos. Not mine indeed! Couple that along with my semi steamed, flaccid, decrepit and depressing burger and you’ve got yourself good times to be sure oh and may I remind you that I didn’t even have a water refill to try and wash it down with. At least at Scottsdale I could get a bag of hot cheetos to spice things up with. In fact Hudson’s better watch their back if the Scottsdale cafeteria ladies decide to set up shop nearby they’ll run you outta town. El Paso deserves better than Hudson’s and if you don’t believe me I encourage you to go and witness the circus of mediocrity for yourself its places like Hudson’s that are the reason we can’t have nice things guys. Lets clean up our act. TL:DR No self respecting El Pasoan should lower themselves to eat such mediocre burgers. Their fries suck, and their appetizer poppers are straight out of the walmart box and into the micro. If you are going to blow more than 6 bucks on a weak burger you might as well head on down to Carls JR. At least their fries are good.

Really, this is more of a 3.5. Unfortunately we can’t do half stars yet on Unilocal.Ah well. I wasn’t particularly impressed. For $ 30 we got a couple of milkshakes, pasta, a burger, some fries and a couple lollipops(they give you lollipops, which is cute). The food was alright and everything, it just didn’t blow me away. The service was quite good, especially considering they were absolutely jam packed. Our waitress was wonderful, the management checked on an ingredient for me and all in all, I’m very happy about the staff. Just… I don’t know. The food was okay. If I want something on their menu I’ll probably go(you can google their menu) but I’d have to be in the right mood for it, I suppose.

They have garden-burger substitutes so I had a fantastic cheddar burger. We even got vanilla and cherry cokes to go with our Blow Pops. The atmosphere was fun and the music was a trip down memory lane for the whole family. Yes, there is gum on the ceiling as Scott S. mentions, but that is there to glue playing cards to the ceiling.

I come here about 3 – 4 times a month. The burgers are good, wings taste great. The onion rings were awesome. If you are a football fan, this is the place to be on football Sundays. If you are a Bears fan, this is def. The place for you.
