Oak Grove Guns

I’ve been in to this store three times and not once have I had anyone offer to help me. This does not appear to be due to a staffing issue, because there are always a fair number of people behind the counter. I have approached several people with an item in hand and instead of fielding my question or taking my money, they seem more concerned about having political discussions with each other.
I served in the military and own several handguns and long guns, so I already have a base of knowledge and I wouldn’t need much of their time. It’s not that I’m particularly impatient, but customer service is important to me and there are other places to shop. If they don’t want my money, I have no problem taking it elsewhere. Cabela’s or the Baron’s Den can get me the same items and and have no problem answering a question or two. The selection at Oak Grove looks to be okay, but the gear they sell appears to be more tactical than practical.

The service was great. These guys know their guns an take the time to talk to you. If you need a good gun any a good price, go see these guys. Happy holidays everyone.

If you know NOTHING about firearms, come here. I’m sure they will sell you the gun your friends will want you to have.
First experience here… the guy was in his chair behind the counter, with a Beretta CX4, going «pew pew pew» at random things in the shop. «Odd», I thought, and proceeded to look through the selection. Quite the Mall Ninja supplies, if you ask me. If you compare to Cabela’s (a major corporate retailer), I guess it’s okay… if, again, you’re looking to impress your forum buddies.
After about a dozen visits, and still not getting a good vibe from this place, I won’t be coming back in. Have had customers sweep me with their muzzles, and not once has any employee said anything about it. They lack equipment that actually makes sense for a gun shop to carry. I would not personally trust anybody I seen working here with any of my equipment, or to answer my questions regarding practical use from actual experience, not internet/​theory based info.

Been awhile since I’ve updated this place and, even as they continue to grow, their customer service continues to be outstanding. Picked up a new addition to the collection and despite the store being packed on a Monday at 11am they made sure to promptly greet visitors and ensure them they would be taken care of as fast as possible. Prices continue to be very competitive or lower even on certain models then other places. The accessory racks make Cabela’s look pathetic. Several different brands of holsters, bags/​packs, Magpul accessories. If these guys start selling safes they will become a one stop shop for firearm enthusiasts.

I called before I showed up to the store which is an hour from home. I was looking for a USA Glock 23. I was assured it was in stock. When got to the store and it was not there, so decided to go ahead and ask them to order it. Two weeks later, it still is not here and no courtesy call to explain. Price was good and we felt they were eager to make us happy. We called to ask about it last week and thought we were putting them out of there way to even look it up. I have purchased it elsewhere. It’s sad, I was going to buy more from these fine folks at a small mom and pop store. I just found a better store with better service and eager to serve without the crap. I will not visit this store again. I do support the smaller stores and will always will. Glad I didn’t leave the deposit since it was suppose to be a normal stock item. I don’t expect a call, the other store had it in 2 days. Good luck, you will need it!

Called in, they didn’t have the gun in stock I was looking for, but great attitudes and genuine thanks for checking with them.

I have purchased two guns from Oak Grove and I am very impressed with their service and selection. I would highly recommend them, they are fun to deal with and easy to talk to!

Being new to the world of firearms I hardly feel qualified to write a review of selection. I can, however, tell you that the customer service I received at Oak Grove Guns was SUPER!
My questions were answered, I felt comfortable, and I was treated respectfully, which is a lot more than I can say for the other gun shop on River Road.
Prices were excellent! After searching the internet for price ranges I was happy to see Oak Grove Guns prices were lower than I had anticipated. I mentioned this to Dave and he was quick to explain that OGG sells their firearms at gun show sale prices everyday!
Based on customer service alone I would give this business FIVE big stars! I only selected a four star rating because I cannot speak to selection.
