Usually the food is good here– took my friend– their first time trying it and the food was terrible. Salad tastes watered down, and got the chicken hibachi dinner the 2 for 20 and the chicken was stiff– kinda rough like and tasted funny– maybe over cooked. The service wasn’t even great. Deff disappointed with everything. Usually I go during the week– so maybe it’s better during those hours– just sucks was hoping for a good meal but it was tasteless and terrible. At least I had a nice night with my friend though despite the terrible restaurant.

I love Kyoto! Been here many times and never a disappointment ! Now they came out with a menu that you get to pick two entrees along with an appetizer and a soup or salad for only 20 dollars ! Definitely worth the try. The salmon are always fresh everytime I come and I love the hibachi they serve. My favorite one is steak and scallop. The scallop is very juicy and delicious

I give them 4 stars because for the quality and the price it evens out for sure. Everyone says service is bad but it wasn’t too terrible when I was there on a Friday night. Yeah, it was busy but that’s what you get for going out impulsively on a Friday night. I loved the Sexy roll and the sweet and sour soup. I was a fan and will be coming back. I also love that they have the choice for the rolls to be in brown rice, surprisingly there’s not a lot of places around Bucks that give you that option so I love it.

Food is always delicious here and the hibachi chefs are qyite entertaining. Tonight we had Leo, who was absolutely hilarious! Would recommend requesting him for hibachi! Very affordable and great portion sizes for their prices. Will definitely be coming back for more soon!

You get what you pay for. For a low price, Kyoto offers good food, a pretty nice environment, and awful service. Food(7⁄10) — The low prices here are obviously compensated for by controlling portion size. There is nothing wrong with that, but it should be noted that your average sushi roll will be smaller that that of your average sit-in restaurant. Some of the food could be better. «Spicy» rolls are not spicy and are without any texture in the fish– it is mashed. I ordered a garden salad during my last visit and it was sitting in a puddle of water as though the lettuce had been washed but not dried. Atmosphere(8⁄10) — Clean and attractive, the booths have been recently redone… If you’re fortunate enough to get a booth. They seem to be reserved for parties of three or more. The small tables are a little crammed(butted up with walls/decorations & the walk way where customers walk and staff dash by too closely for you to enjoy a relaxing meal. Service(3⁄10) — This place has the worst I’ve encountered without being blatantly nasty. Allow me to walk you through my typical experiences at Kyoto:. I enter and wait by the front desk, staff scurry by, never making eye contact or saying a word; they come and go until eventually one staff member(probably wearing a sweatshirt and virtually indistinguishable from a fellow customer) will say me «two right?!» –Right… I reply, and my friend and I are seated. We wait. Another staffer will bring water. We wait. Another staffer initiates conversation with us by blurting«you ready?!» –Yes, I say. She takes out her notepad and rifles through the pages. Looking up, she raises her brows impatiently and violently jabs her open palm in my direction as if to say«Get on with it already!» … A substitute for your commonplace«what may I get for you this evening». I need not go any further. This is typical of Kyoto. One is not greeted, and pleasantries are not exchanged at Kyoto, not to mention there is little colloquial decency. There are a few nice workers there though, but by large they are greatly overshadowed by the impatient and impersonal. You get what you pay for. I’ll be back. But it will not be for the service. It’ll be for the price point of the food. Update: I am giving more weight to the service category of this review, thus changing the overall star rating of this restaurant from a 3 to a 2. This update is inspired by a recent visit to this restaurant during which the service was abysmal.

I’ve been coming here for years it’s always been great. I agree that a while back their food was not up to participate what it used to be. But they have recently stepped up their game and their food is as great as it use to be or even better! If you haven’t tried it in a while you should definitely come back.

Probably my favorite sushi spot at this point. For the price you really can’t beat it. Always fresh and delicious, and a gigantic menu to choose from. The green dragon roll, sea monster roll, and anything with spicy tuna is a must.

I used to come here once a week when they first opened. The food was never incredible but it was close and my friends always insisted. As time went by the place grew and the service got worse. For instance — one night it was 3 people eating and we decided to put the bill on 3 different cards. We specifically told the waitress what amount on which card. The next day I check my bank statement and I was charged for two different amount. I thankfully kept my receipt and went to the manager who I’m not sure realized that her idiot waitress made a mistake and that I wasn’t going to be paying for it. She gave me a refund for the mistaken charged amount and I left. From that moment forward I had a bad taste in my mouth when it came to Kyoto. — the straw that broke the camels back for me was when 2 girls friends and I decided to go to Kyoto on a Friday night with some saki. The place was absolutely packed and I made sure I had cash on me. We got seated at the far end corner of the restaurant. We ask them to hear our saki. About 15 min pass and we ask our waitress for the saki. We start talking, drinking, losing track of time when we realize that we haven’t ordered yet. An additional 30 minutes went by. Waiters and waitresses are walking back and forth in front of us but never actually talking to us. We finally flag down a waiter after every table around us has already gotten new parties. I mean people have come after us and left before us. Idk what the hell the wait staff problem was. After an additional HOUR of waiting we finally get out food. By the time we are ready to leave we are the 3rd to last table in the restaurant. We waited almost 2 hours for 3 miso soups and 6 rolls. We paid for bill in exact change leaving no tip. That was hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Never coming back here again.

The best, affordable, consistently good sushi restaurant in Bucks County. As you can tell when you walk into Kyoto and it is always packed, it must be a favorite sushi restaurant for a lot of people in the Feasterville area. I travel all the way from Newtown just to get my Kyoto sushi and not because it is 50% everyday(which is pretty awesome), but because they have a lot of vegetarian sushi roll options, which I haven’t found at other Japanese restaurants. The best rolls are the peanut & avocado doll, the vegetable tempura roll, the sweet potato roll, and the seaweed salad roll. Not to mention, their appetizers and 50% hibachi are delicious as well. Go to Kyoto!!! You won’t regret it.

We have been her several times. You cannot compare this sushi to full price places like tokai or Tako but for 50% off its really good! I like the appetizer sushi pizza and rock shrimp. The spicy girlfriend roll and sashimi rolls are nice. Chicken negamaki was pretty disappointing and lacking flavor. The value is good and the décor is pretty. Service is only ok.

Got take out sushi off their ½ price menu. I requested that they modify the Philadelphia roll to be cucumber instead of avocado. This was done correctly and fairly quick. I usually go somewhere else that takes 3x as long. I noticed they also had good deals on hibachi but I didn’t try anything out this trip. If I’m close to this location I’ll definitely return.

Foods OK, takes about 20 minutes to get half of your food to the table. Beautiful décor but the place is such a bore.

I come to this sushi place a lot because it is close by and convenient. Their sushi and sashimi is decent and their prices are cheap. For takeout it’s great. Eating in is another story. The service is way below average. The servers have no manners and are constantly coming up to the table to take things away in the middle of your meal– as to save time instead of doing it all at once in the end. It is extremely rude to keep reaching over. I’ve never really had any complaints about the food but the one time I did, instead of the waitress saying okay and taking away the food she proceeded to say that no one else had complaints. I found this unprofessional. The hibachi is always super loud so when you eat in prepare to be distracted by the noise on the other side of the wall. I’d recommend sticking to Kyoto as a take out option.

Love, love, love Kyoto. I just always wonder why they won’t open one in the city! It’s always a go to when we are in the NE. The sushi is really good, really cheap. It’s BYOB. Great for large parties. The kids love watching the hibachi although we never get it. Haha Lots of veggie options. Seaweed salad, avocado salad, peanut avocado roll, asparagus roll, sweet potato rolls. We eat our face off here and it costs us nothing. Take out is great too! Large beautiful trays to display. Think sushi for your next party!

Would like to rate them higher as their food is consistently good & at a decent price. I like this place & I LOVE their ginger dressing & hibachi dishes which are served with 2 different kinds of sauce on the side. 1HUGE problem I have is that the rolls vary depending on the chef. Greatly! You can order the same exact roll because you know you liked it & the next time it’s made completely different. I am a huge fan of the Bustleton Roll & recommend it … however I never know how it’s going to be prepared… 3 different ways the last 3 x’s I ordered it! Also beware if coming in on a weekend night as it gets pretty crowded & service can be agonizingly slooooooww.

Atmosphere is nice. Service was eh, seems they were understaffed. The appetizers came after the hibachi meal was served and eaten. The waitress said the kitchen was really busy, however, there were many empty tables. The hibachi chef was not friendly, nor entertaining, but his food was tasty and perfectly cooked. Sushi was good. I will return in hopes that the service issue was an isolated incident. Definitely worth a second try since the food was good and the price reasonable!

I was a bit worried to try Kyoto based on the other reviews here. After trying it, it appears this place is the typical ‘half off’ sushi joint one would find in this neck of the woods. It’s menu is eerily similar to every other Japanese restaurant and the prices are as well. The interior is far nicer than most restaurants in the same league though, and I thought the layout and ambiance were rather enjoyable. Then again, I went on a Monday night when it was deserted, so I can’t tell you if it gets overly crowded or loud on the weekends. Their sushi is decent. I got a Pacific roll and it was edible, my only gripe was that the nori was a bit soggy. My boyfriend’s rolls(red snapper and spicy tuna) were both alright. The best sushi in the Philly area? I say not. One of the better sushi places in lower Bucks? Yeah, I’d say so. The interior bumps them up a star against their competition. Not a bad experience.
