Came for the name, stayed for the gluten free goods. I had a delicious chai spice muffin and locally roasted coffee, while my friend opted for a date roll and fresh pressed juice. This coffee shop/bar focuses on natural and organic offerings – they even brew their own kombucha, which was delicious! Raw foods abound, fresh produce for sale, chlorophyll water, indoor koi pond… you know, the usual. A fun stop in the Flagstaff area.

Well I never ever write reviews, but Whyld Ass deserves it. I came in for lunch and got the best freshest tasting pizza I have ever ate, and amazing service. I got balsamic onions, fresh organic tomatoes, and lentil sausage on my pizza. The cheese was cashew cheese and was amazing! I asked the owner(Ryan) who was cooking this afternoon if he has anything spicy and he gave me a spicy hot sauce that is homemade with sweet potatoes and thai seasoning to dip my crust in. I didn’t eat all of my pizza and got to take half of it home to eat for dinner(:

This place is an Arizona gem. We were quite apprehensive after terrible recommendations in town. The few locals we talked to said they would never recommend this place due to how they treat employees, etc. We tried anyway because we didn’t want Mexican vegetarian food and the vegan curry place was closed. To our wonderful surprise this place was wonderful! We couldn’t believe they had in-house made kombucha! Amazing Kombucha at that with ginger and basil. We live in California and thought the prices were really fair, especially for the area and resources. The cashew Mac and cheese was so delicious and we loved the sweet potato hash and live mustard. Wish we could’ve tried more things. I thought it was especially awesome that well behaved dogs were allowed. Indy had a great time and we were at ease having him with us. Awesome place and so thrilled to have stopped in!

First off this place is not a coffee shop or anything else. The coffee sucks, no espresso, no milk of any kind because they are against and will let you know their beliefs and if you are against it they will annoy you with their beliefs, the smoothies are terrible and the food is medicare! Not to mention these ass boys came from Bisbee where they caused a slew of trouble. They basically were run out of that town due to their immoral behavior and business ethic! They are passing off ORGANIC with conventional product as well as exploit all of their employees! They are a business that should not be supported and they need to get out of our town! I have found some more interesting information about WYLDASS Coffee Shop and Bar on the Southside of the tracks in Flagstaff. I have had my eye on this place since they have arrived. I knew something was up with it. Well, with some digging and a random post, I talked with the former Manager of WYLDASS Coffee Shop and Bar. Not to my surprise this is what I found out: «I was their former manager, and quit when they told me I could only hire gay people, and had to ask what their sexual preference was during the interview process. They also refused to pay me the full amount they owe, donated out my equipment, refilled top shelf liquors with store bought budget liquor, passed off conventional produce as organic for well over 4 months, and stole from their employees pay by using made up reasons to not pay. This business is the worst example of false activism. I jumped into this position with high expectations and a huge smile thinking I was apart of ground changing event for Flagstaff, unfortunately it was just another shit bag promoter/owner looking to capitalize off local talents with as little expense as possible, and zero community involvement on his part.» I will tell you right now that this place is exploiting it’s employees and pulling the wool over on our community! They are banking off an illusion and people are buying it! I agree the owners are nothing but capitalist pigs taking advantage of free labor and bad laws! I hope to have more evidence soon. #BOYCOTTWYLDASS SUPPORTTHEHONESTFOLKSINTHEBUSINESS, NOTTHESEASSHOLES! After promising myself not to eat here again, on a snowy evening, I found myself breaking that promise. The music was blaring loud. I asked if it could be turned down since I could not hear my partner speak. I was told«we’re to keep it that loud, we’re not allowed to turn it down.» Well if that’s the case then play something other than live post-their-heyday Clash. My meal was pretty okay but my partner had the special tasted pretty all right but was an unadvertised $ 15. $ 15 for one meal? Way over priced. Spend your hard-earned dollars elsewhere.

If I could give 5 stars I would! Here’s what they would be for: 1 * for the people and philosophy-Kudos to the talented chefs and cheerful staff. And the Koi! So wonderful to find places like this-passion in abundance. 2* for the delicious FOOD! Pics to follow gluten free, vegan, 100% plant based, organic, non GMO, delectable! Baked goods aplenty-and their menu is diverse and satisfying 3* for the drinks! House made Kombucha, chlorophyll water, house made sunflower seed milk, smoothies, coffee, sangria… something for everyone! 4* for the ambiance-super comfy and kick back. Beautiful art on the walls, plenty of space to mingle(or not!) and a cool rooftop space. 5* for the positive vibe. Wish we could uproot this place and take it back to SJC with us. Namaste and much love to you all.

Came through town and found this place on Unilocal absolutely love the atmosphere so artistic and free-spirited. We ordered a few things and everything was delicious including the gluten free jackfruit quesadilla and also the thin crust pizza. Everything about this place was unique the recipes were very well thought out and original ! So being vegan and gluten-free it is always such a pleasure to find places like this. It epitomizes coolness and extra thumbs up on the chlorophyll water!

We made a stop here for fresh fruit smoothies during our trip to Arizona. I love the charm of this place, very relaxing, and I felt I was back in Mission, San Francisco. Our smoothie was yummy!

Get your ass down here. This place had original delicious vegan food and all day breakfast. The San Francisco burro is highly recommended but everything here so far is worth eating. The place is split in two with a traditional restaurant downstairs and an open air patio upstairs where a dj was spinning chill downtempo house on Friday night. This place has tons of potential. If I lived in Flagstaff if be hanging out here often. Go get some!

I immediately liked this place right when I walked in. It’s not glam, it’s not fancy, it’s comfy and real. Maybe it has good vibes, I don’t know. Probably, though, because it’s vegan. Staff were kind and helpful. Water is green and freaked me out until I realized it has chlorophyll added(there’s a sign stating that but it took me a minute to see). The kombucha(ginger) was fabulous. Excellent taste. Hubby had the pour over coffee and enjoyed it. I had the morning Jack(half a biscuit and gravy, one pancake, sweet potato hash). I’m not even sure how to describe it. Savory. So many seasonings and flavors. Good. I ate slowly to try to figure out what I was tasting. It was good. The only meh was the sweet potatoes. They were super dry. Husband had the stuffed French toast. Whoa. Delicious. The berry compote tasted like pie filling. Super rad. Overall awesome culinary experience. Wish I lived in Flag to be able to eat here with regularity and support a super cool vegan business.

What a cool, funky, cute, little café. I received a double greeting when I walked in. Made me feel like a superstar. One of the owners was taking the orders and he was very nice, personable, and helpful with answering all of our questions. It was a rather large and spacious café. I loved the atmosphere. It was breakfast time so I order biscuits and gravy. It was a very different spin on the typical southern dish. The biscuit was not soft and fluffy, but of a harder, more crisp texture, and the gravy was not a thick mock-sausage gravy; it was more like a thin paste… almost liquidly. It’s hard to describe. It was not bad, it was just different. I did enjoy the spices in their gravy though; it was very tasty. The one thing that I absolutely could not stand was that there was a girl behind the counter who was touching the customers’ food with her bare hands. Over and over again, I saw her doing this. AND her long hair was swaying all over that customer’s apple pie. Poor guy. I couldn’t see what was happening in the kitchen, so I can only pray that someone back there was using gloves. They lost a star because of the unsanitary health issue, which seriously messes with my psyche.(I am OCD.) They are 100% vegan, so I will give them another chance. I’d like to return to try their lentil loaf and some of their desserts. I will make SURE no one touches my dessert with their bare claws. FYI — Pay in cash and save $$. I think my bill was @ $ 3 cheaper when I switched to cash.

I was visiting Flagstaff for a long weekend and heard about this place from my mom who loved it. We are vegetarians who love to try unique places the offer high quality vegetarian options. This place won’t disappoint if you are willing to try something a little different! I wish I had come for more than a snack because the menu looks wonderful, but what I did have was awesome! I had a unique smoothie with chipotle and a gluten free apple ginger muffin that was wonderful. Next time I am visiting flagstaff I will stop in for breakfast or lunch!

1) I’m not vegan but the cake is! 2) ABSOLUTEBESTCAKE I’VEEVERHAD($ 5 per slice). I’ve had three slices so far: a snicker doodle variety, orange cake with cinnamon frosting, and raisin cake with vanilla frosting. Every single bite is amazing. «Sorry Mom, your cake is good but it ain’t got nothing on Whylde Asses!» 3) I’ll definitely be going here for cake, a lot. 4) Very LGBTQ friendly. Gay pride.

Overall breakfast experience: food came out quickly, portions are WAY too small for the price, flavors are excellent. Overall dinner experience: too long waiting for food, portions are too small for the price, flavors are excellent. Overall dessert/bakery experience: YUM! More, please! For dinner I tried the special of the night, which was a pizza made from scratch with gf/vegan ingredients(I believe potatoes and oats made up the«cheese,» of which I saw none, so I’m not sure what it looks like or what it tastes like, specifically). It took almost 50min for our food to come out. I know everything is made from scratch, but geez. They need to streamline that part, in my opinion. The marinara sauce was excellent, nice and spicy like a good pizza sauce should be. The handmade corn meal crust was fine, nothing special, and a little too hard for my liking. It was a small, small pizza for $ 15. I laughed when our waitress told me it was enough to make a meal for both my husband and me. It certainly was not enough. It came with a side salad(one small salad for two people splitting the pizza? Weird.) The dressing on the salad tasted wonderful, but there wasn’t enough of it. I also tried the pancakes, which tasted like ambrosia dipped in homemade divinity, but yet again, there was not enough of the sauce: a drizzled chocolate/cinnamon/clove concoction. The pancakes ended up feeling very dry and mushy, like clay paste in my mouth, even though they were delicious. $ 7 for two dry pancakes. I tried the kombucha on tap. Meh. I’ve had better. It’s not fizzy enough, and although I’m happy there is no processed sugar being used, I don’t think that means the kombucha can’t be sweet at all. It tasted like straight apple cider vinegar. Not my favorite way to drink kombucha. But I got a free sample, so at least that was good on my wallet. Dessert. Was. Amazing. I tried an oatmeal chocolate cookie($ 2.50) and an apple cinnamon cupcake/muffin with the BEST frosting I’ve had in a while($ 5.00). I will definitely try more of their desserts! The next day the Hubs and I went for breakfast and ordered 2 breakfast burritos($ 6.50each plus tip = $ 17). The burritos were delicious. Whatever they put on the beans, I want more! But the burritos were pathetically small and I was kinda pissed when I left still hungry after spending $ 17 on breakfast. I will keep trying this place for certain dishes that intrigue me, and DEFINITELY for baked goods, but I’m not sure how many more meals I can stomach at their prices with such small portion sizes.

I have seen lots of businesses come and go through this space that is now Whyld Ass, they really have transformed it into a comfortable, safe, clean, warm environment. The food is unique, and great. I am not vegan but have not found anything yet that is not five stars quality. The smoothies are worth finding parking for and enjoying on the roof top patio.
