Me and my fiancé went there for Valentines day dinner when they only offered course meals with 3 different options for the antreè. It was not crowded or crazy busy. Very laid back nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. The only problem I had was I asked for my steak medium well and it was brought to me what looked like medium or medium rare. They took it back and I overheard them saying they had mixed up the order with another customers. So they brought me back the same steak and it was still undercooked. They took it back and brought it back to me a third time and it was finally cooked right n the inside but the outside of it just tasted charcoaled and burnt. By this time I just starving and wanting to eat so I ate it but that was not my idea of a good steak. Besides my burnt steak everything else tasted good though.

My wife and I enjoyed a Valentine Day Eve dinner at Clay Pigeon. I had the fish selection and my wife had the pork. Both were excellent. Delicious flavors and presented very well. The table service was perfection. We never wanted for anything and didn’t feel like our server was unnecessarily hovering. The entire experience was nearly ruined from the start, though. We made a reservation for an early time(5:45) to avoid the crowds and to hope for a nice table position. For some reason, though, the hostess wanted to place us at a upfront table at a time when the restaurant was more than half empty. When we requested another table she placed us at a table that was bunched in between two other tables. It seemed odd when the restaurant was not full and did not fill the entire time we were there. Fortunately for our overall experience the food and table service overshadowed the unfortunate start. I recommend Clay Pigeon for a wonderful meal and good service.

This review is a real challenge as the score reflects the average of the entire experience. First — the really good news — the food and wine were exceptional. 5 Stars across the board. We were blown away by the Pancetta/Pear/Blue Cheese Flat Bread appetizer. I really enjoyed the roasted Bone Marrow on toast. For entrée’s my wife had the Pork Shank and I(reluctantly) had the Chorizo Fettucci. We shared the blueberry bread pudding with lemon ice cream for dessert. Without reservation — some of the best tasting food I’ve eaten at any restaurant anywhere in the US. Next — Restaurant ambiance is tasteful and appropriate for the price-point. The bar is a little snug, but the general seating was pleasantly spaced so that you don’t feel like you’re participating in their conversations. Lastly — The staff needs a lesson in what constitutes good service and good manners. From the hostess, to the wait staff to the manager — all need to remember they’re in a service industry and that the customers are there by choice. We had a 8:00 reservation — we arrived right on time and then were invited to have a seat or head to the aforementioned«snug» bar. 25 minutes later we were seated at our table. About 15 minutes into wait, I asked the hostess if there was a problem with our reservation — I was told«well, you have a general reservation and that table wasn’t yet available». What other type of reservation is there? Did I need to tip the hostess $ 20 to get a table? There were 3 additional parties that arrive after us(4 person parties) that were seated immediately. From the reception area, I counted no less than 5 tables that could have accommodated a party of two that wouldn’t have necessitated this wait. Not a good start. When we were finally seated, it was 8 – 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table. When she did arrive, she never bothered to introduce herself, she simply asked if we knew if what we wanted to drink or if we’d like something from the bar. With 8 minutes to stare at the menu, we were(frankly) ready to order our entire meal. I tried to order a rib-eye steak only to learn that they were out of that particular option — really? You run out of rib-eye steaks by 8:40PM on a Saturday night? The night before Valentines? Really? We ordered a really nice bottle of wine. This was brought to the table by what appear to be the Manager as she was dressed in a different style of clothes from the waitstaff. As with the waitress, I had to assume she was the Manager as she never bother to introduce herself or even say hello. Heaven forbid that she try to engage in even a little small-talk or ask us how things were going so far this evening. Just very disappointing from someone in a position of leadership. The Chef/Owner was at the order/prep station the entire night. From my seat I had the opportunity to observe his actions. And lets face it — they sell food so that’s what he builds his reputation on. But his apparent lack of attention to the front-of-the-house does not bode well for a long run for this restaurant. I’ll wrap this up — I’d rather have outstanding service and average food than what I experienced at Clay Pigeon.

Visited for the first time last night for a private event. Everything from beginning to end was amazing. The staff is friendly, helpful, personable, and very attentive. The Executive Chef visited our table and introduced himself and asked how everything was. I highly recommend and am looking forward to visiting for dinner again soon.

Favorite spot in Fort Worth thanks in part to a modern and sophisticated atmosphere, perfectly executed food(muscles, homemade pasta, life-changing steak: you name it, it’s all fabulous), and a courteous staff. We’ve never had a less than perfect meal or night at clay pigeon and always leave in anticipation of our next return.

A great hidden gem off white settlement in Fort Worth. We came here for my birthday dinner. They sat us promptly and had a very attentive server. We started with drinks which including the birds and bees and pear martini. The pear martini was very refreshing and clean tasting. It wasn’t overpowering. We had the pork flatbread, bone marrow, pasta of the day, and the brussel sprouts. I love bone marrow and am not a fan of fennel so I was happy it was placed on the side. The pasta of the day was a pappardelle with rabbit and butternut squash. The flavors were so rich and it was very appropriate for the fall. The brussel sprouts weren’t anything special so I might try a different vegetable next time. Everything is seasonal and farm to table so it’s a great place to go and try.

What a fantastic night. It was my birthday and my parents asked I pick somewhere nicer to take me and I wasn’t really sure where to start. We’ve been to all the places down West 7th and in Downtown Fort Worth, so of course I turn to Unilocal. This is one of the first places that popped up and after seeing a few great reviews and photos this is what we decided on! The ambience and design of the space is GREAAAAAT for a nice date that still feels a little casual. Really love it and hope I meet a hot guy to take me back sometime. ;) To start, I had an apple pie cocktail(whiskey and apple cider) and we ordered the pork flatbread(not sure if that’s the name) and the arancini. I don’t eat pork, but my family quickly ate it so it must have been great and it was presented beautifully. The arancini on the other hand, oh my glob. It was so good. I mean when is it not? But this was especially good. For my first course I ordered the seared scallops and everyone got the soup, you boring people! I love scallops and can pretty much never turn them down when I see them. Oh and they were cooked PERFECTLY. Not rubbery in the slightest. The sear on the outside was perfect and the sauce was amazing. I really enjoyed this. Family really liked the soup, which was the soup of the day so I’m sure it’s already changed. The entrée I went with was the pasta of the day, which at the time was a rabbit ravioli, kind of, with mushrooms and this amaaaaaazing sauce. I mean, ugh this sauce man. I don’t know what was going on in it but it was so freaking good I started scooping out our mushroom side and dipping it(different kind of mushroom, mushrooms in the dish were like 1000x better). It was hands down some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Everyone else in my family got either the pork shank or whatever other beef they had and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Usually I get more comments from my family and friends but I was busy drowning in that heavenly sauce. Lastly, for dessert they all got the chocolate whatever it was and I got the bread pudding because bread pudding is the BEST. They brought it with a candle, how sweet, and omg I wanted to eat the whole thing but it’s a pretty big portion. It’s so good though. They enjoyed their chocolate what have you, but I would way way way recommend the bread pudding. All in all, amazing experience. Probably stupid expensive but I would totally let someone else take me again. :)

First I want to say this is our 2nd time dinning here and we have been blow away both times! We ate here on October 5, 2015 for our two year anniversary and we are so appreciative to the staff and Chef for making it a perfect meal for our perfect day. Stacy was our waitress and she was so amazing; she was attentive and she was knowledgeable from the start. We came on a day that they changed their menus(love the seasonal aspect of this menu) and so they had not prepared the one dish we really came for… The FOIEGRAS! Last time they had a pistachio crusted foie gras, with peaches and a type of yogurt, amazing! BUT! and she mentioned it to the Chef and he sent us a dish to DIE for! This was not going to be on the menu but it was perfect either way! This time the Foie Gras had crushed sea salt on top and was surrounded by cooked figs & nice chucks of cinnamon apple, with a caramel smear! This was the perfect combination of savory and sweet and I would pay to have this again! By the way he sent it out to us Complimentary because of our anniversary and we really wanted to have the foie gras again. We also had the charcuterie app and bone marrow, both were wonderful! Our main dishes were also the Grilled Duck, which I have never had a better duck in my life, and the Braised pork shoulder! Both so delicious! We had two choices between our desserts, the(i’m calling it a mousse because i forgot what Stacy called it) Chocolate coffee bean infused mousse, and the coconut meringue pie(i think it was a pie); we choose the latter but, the Chef wanted us to try the coconut meringue so he sent us out that complimentary as well! Hands down we loved the coconut meringue, but both were so delicious, I thought i may have gained 10lbs. Needless to say we had such a wonderful dinner and the atmosphere and staff are the best in state! If you ever have the chance to eat here or have a desire to eat such elevated dishes, please GO! You will be doing yourself a favor! We will be back and we will bring friends! Decided to check out this place for my 40th birthday! A little off the beaten path but hey it made me feel like I found a gem! Thanks to my Unilocal friends I was not disappointed. Everything was great! The service and the food was delicious. Everyone at my dinner really enjoyed the food. I had the bone marrow as an appetizer and for my entrée I had the lamb. I would definitely come back here for dinner.

This place is fabulous. Hands down deserves every good review its ever gotten. Drinks are pronominal, appetizers are unbelievably flavorful, the quality of meat they use is just wonderful. The desserts? I’m drooling thinking about the Nectarine Cobbler. This place would get 10 stars If Unilocal would let me. Do yourself a favor and get in there… Like yesterday.

I can’t say enough great things about Clay Pigeon or Marcus! Everything is absolutely delicious from the food to the well-crafted cocktails. You can’t go wrong with anything in their rotating menus. The only disappointing thing is not being able to get that Pork Shank year-round!

Clay Pigeon is a little piece of heaven. The ambiance is exactly what you need after a long day in the TX heat. Had the house made Alfredo pasta, which was pretty tasty! The fact that everything is made from scratch is pure perfection. You can taste the freshness! Will be back to taste the herb crusted lamb chop that I had my eye on. I originally had this review at three stars, but then I added another because of the berry cobbler!!! OMG that alone deserves 5 stars!!! So much deliciousness packed into a little ramekin! Too bad I was sharing with two other people, I would have devoured that cobbler by myself. So hopefully chef is making cobbler the night you’re there if not demand it… nicely of course

Food was really great. I had cucumber gazpacho, beef tenderloin with whipped potatoes and garlic spinach. For desert I had the goat cheese panna cotta with fruit topping. Beef was cooked perfectly to my order. Food was seasoned so well that we didn’t notice that there was no salt or pepper on the table until we got to the potatoes and they didn’t have any pepper in them. Portions are a little small for a Texan, but not too small. It is a little pricey but a nice place to impress a date or celebrate with friends. Service was awesome. My glass never emptied from water or wine. My friend had the fish. I don’t like fish, but I tried it. Pan seared and served on couscous. It tasted good for fish. Light flavor with minimal seasoning so you taste the fish instead of some sauce. She loved it and that is rare for her. She also had the chocolate pot de crème for desert. It was very good with a hint of coffee flavor to it. If you don’t like coffee, don’t order it. I was there for a presentation and although the food and service were great, I couldn’t hear our presentation because they had booked a large group of men in the next room. The building has a lot of hard surfaces like brick walls and cement floor causing the sounds to bounce around the room and make it really loud. The rooms are divided by thin curtains so sound travels easily from room to room. They provide valet parking because the parking situation is really bad in that neighborhood. Valet guys were really great, they were really hustling to get the cars quickly. There is some type of construction going on outside the restaurant but it didn’t affect our experience at all once we were inside.

Overall impression: food was good, service was decent, kitchen was slow, atmosphere was excellent. Not much has changed from the interior that was Lambert’s. Clay Pigeon will not supplant American Food and Beverage or Ellerbe(imo), but it is a very good restaurant to add to the Fort Worth fine dining list. My scallops entrée was a little high at $ 35(with underwhelming sides) and I didn’t find the wine list to be especially intriguing(again, higher marks to AF+B and Ellerbe). BUT their stemware was impressively gleaming and polished! Their seasonal soup was delicious. Wish I could remember what it was! Tip! We were seated in the main dining room, but I found the front room cozier and more appealing. If you are making a reservation on a winter’s night, I would definitely request a table up front near the warmly inviting kitchen. Fun fact: Pudge Rodriguez was dining with a group on the same night we had dinner here. Hey, if it’s good enough for Pudge…

Went here for a celebratory dinner in honor of boyfriend’s new job on a Wednesday night. Very cozy atmosphere. Cold night, fireplace was going, great décor, very simple yet comfy, a little rustic and still modern. Had the bone marrow appetizer after reading reviews here on Unilocal. My boyfriend and I have never had bone marrow before, so we’re not connoisseurs; it was good, but that’s all I really have to say. Garlicy, buttery, you spread it on yummy toast… Personally, I love mussels and will order that appetizer next time. It was great to try & said I’ve had it once. I ordered the scallops and my boyfriend ordered the daily pasta, which was a beef bolognese pappardelle pasta and opted for the additional white truffle shavings on top. It is certainly quality over quantity — the food was INCREDIBLE, albeit in modest portions. My boyfriend and I are both big runners with big appetites & probably could have eaten twice the amounts we were given. The scallops were cooked to absolute perfection — I love scallops and am very picky & sensitive to them being overcooked; these were velvet, melt-in-your-mouth perfect! Boyfriend loved the pasta and the truffle shavings were a nice addition for that rich meal. Very sweet waitress, attentive staff once we were first served.(See below) GO! The food and atmosphere are well worth going. Just know that it is a quality experience; I would preference it for celebrations & special occasions. Not enough food to satisfy my hunger on an ordinary date night though ;) It will be on my list to come back for another special evening sometime, or to bring out of town visitors to show off great FTW dining. Knocked off 1 star: — Seated and then not attended to for over 5 minutes. Restaurant was only half full. Once they got to us the service was great, it just took ridiculously long to come by and even give us water on the first go-around. — Small portions for big bucks

We celebrated our daughter’s college graduation here. I really appreciate a restaurant where you feel special from the moment you arrive, and this was one of those places! Personalized greetings, the manager stopped by to congratulate our daughter, and lots of assistance as we changed our reservations(many times) at the last minute, due to our son’s flight delays. A very enjoyable evening and the perfect setting. Clean, sleek surroundings and lots of places for groups that can be sectioned off for private events. Now on to the most important stuff… the food and drinks(actually food and drink are only enjoyed when accompanied by good service, and ours was wonderful)! Great hand-crafted cocktails; our server was excellent at steering each of us to the perfect cocktail based on our tastes. If you’re lucky enough to get one of the cocktails served with an Italian cherry garnish your lucky enough! We started with an order of PEI mussels to share, which were served in a traditional type broth with a delicious twist — leeks, fennel and pancetta. The order looked small when it arrived, but the mussels were huge, so it was plenty for the three of us. We enjoyed the leeks atop the grilled toast. We also had the roasted bone marrow. We are not seasoned connoisseurs of marrow, so I’ll just say it’s probably just not our thing. We shared two salads between us, which was plenty. The spinach salad was amazing! I had the duck breast which was prepared to perfection. I shared a few bites and then happily did my part to be a member if the clean plate club, literally scooping up the last remaining drizzles of delicious sauce. We also enjoyed the wood fired steak special, which was a ribeye and the pork chop. Both of those entrees were outstanding as well and the portions were ginormous! The pork chop had a deep smokey flavor and was served atop a spring bean salad which was a unique and very tasty accompaniment. As you can imagine, we had left no room for dessert. They did sound tempting, and based on the rest of our meal, I have no doubt that they would have been delicious. Thanks for making our special celebration wonderful!
