Noël is the best hair stylist I have ever have. He is a true artist. His care and kindness towards his clients is unmatchable. I have been his client for 5+ years. If you want a hairstylist for life that truly cares about you go to Noël ! There’s not much else to say other than you and your hair will thank you !

I love this salon! Everyone is always very kind and laid back. I let Jessica Zak take care of my hair and extensions. She is amazing. Always make sure my hair looks fantastic when I leave. She makes sure my hair is healthy and I am happy. I highly recommend going to Jessica for any of your hair needs.

This is quite possibly the worst haircut I’ve ever had from the clippers gouging in my head to the cold water wash. The Walmart looking clippers that were not sharp and I was informed they were dead bc other people have been using them all day. I asked for a simple trim and when I got was nothing of the sort. My hair looks like crap and I’ve already scheduling another appointment with another salon. I hope they can fix the damage that’s been done. To top it off once I got the counter I found the bill was $ 35 for simple haircut I got to get a better haircut at sport clips or Walmart. I don’t know where the other reviews on the site came from but the place was empty and now I know why. I heard you save your money and go someplace else.

This place has always been great. I love Bee, and I’d say, she’s a go-​to when you’re looking for an awesome cut that’s on trend. Bee loves being a stylist, and is actively involved in the style industry, staying updated with current styles. Bee is very innovative, and takes a lot of pride in what she does. It’s unlikely you’ll ever meet someone sweeter than Bee, and she always makes you feel special. Bee is also great with teens.
For that, I’ve been a fan of this place, but previously Sheer Steel didn’t quite have what I call «The Pamper Factor.» You know, I’m talking about the place you can go when you’ve had a terrible week, and everyone and everything has made you feel like a nothing, and you just need to be treated like you matter, and you’re valued? That’s when you need a, «We’re so happy you’re here!,» kind of place!“
Well, I’m happy to report that Sheer Steel now has, «The Pamper Factor!» I mean the, «So nice to see you, Come right in, Can I bring you a chilled Chardonnay, and Oh my, it looks as if your Chardonnay may be getting warm, might I bring you a chilled one?,» kind of place!
Now, I just might start calling it, «The Nic Factor,» because the new director «Nic» has redefined my whole definition of «Pampered!»
Sheer Steel sure got it right when they acquired Nic! I mean, Bee can’t be the only one spreading sunshine, the place needed a little goodwill on the front end of things, and clearly they couldn’t have made a better decision!
So, thank you Sheer Steel, for a lovely experience, understanding your clients, and creating a lovely little haven with delightful people!

I had a cut and color with Jessica Zac a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! She is wonderful… she takes her time and makes sure you get what you came for! When I first came in, she sat me down for a consult before even going to the chair which I loved because I knew she understood exactly what I wanted. She was easy-​going and fun to chat with and the end result was great… overall, she left me a very satisfied customer :)

This salon has never disappointed. Located by the exciting 7^th street area, it has a modern & hip vibe, but is a great find for all ages. The staff is very friendly & offers a glass of wine, water, or soda to sip on. I tried it with a Groupon at first, but will return as I Iove the work Chelsea does. Definitely worth a try. Pamper yourself!

Tried it out because they had a groupon. I made an appointment with Clarissa. She was wonderful — and did an amazing job. I wanted to do a second round of highlights and she agreed to match the groupon price the second time. I went in on a Saturday and took my kids (1.5 and 5). I was nervous about having them there but one of the other stylists — Noël — spent the better part of 2 hours entertaining them and helping me to keep an eye on them while I had my hair done. Cant say enough about what an amazing experience I had. Removed 1 star only because the place smells like smoke which I don’t care for — but that’s a minor issue.

This place is horrible I wish I could say different but my recommendation is totally to go somewhere else. It’s really expensive and if you ever get something that you don’t like there is no way you can fix it or get your money back.

My daughter & I did haircut and colors and LOVE our new looks! She went drastic dark and I went drastic light. We are getting SO many compliments from friends & strangers. Can you say hair magicians?

I found a groupon for a great deal at this salon. I hadn’t been to a salon in a while and was in desperate need of a cut and color. Lindsey listened to my needs, gave great styling advice, and made me feel very comfortable. So far I am happy with the results!
Bonus, complimentary wine or beer!

I’ve been going here for about 3 yrs. Great, fun, trendy staff. Kind of pricey depending on who yah see, but complimentary drinks for you & your friend :) can’t beat that! Very knowledgable & overall want to help. Open late as well!

I was lucky enough to land an appointment with Bee Salas for my first visit at Shear Steel Salon. She is such a gem! It was a great experience from start to finish. She was highly professional, and very knowledgeable. The salon is kept clean, and has a comfortable and artsy vibe. I would recommend Shear Steel and Bee to anyone looking for nothing less than the best.

i did not have a good experience here.
I purchased a ‘Groupon’ for cut and color, and tried this salon in an attempt to replace a long-​time stylist who moved from FW to another state.
I called and asked for an ‘experienced stylist’, and was booked for an appt. Once in the chair, it was VERY clear VERY quickly that the girl was not experienced; she’d had her license for a very short time. I’m adventurous, so why not, i thought. I DID tell her that my job (attorney) precluded anything outrageous.
My color need was mostly upkeep, and a little grey coverage for my medium brown long hair. During the color portion, the stylist continually conferred with an older (wiser?) co-​employee, having her check my hair (in foils) at least twice.
What i left with was almost BLONDE in some spots, almost BLACK in others, and the antithesis of subtle. As well, the BLONDE portions of my hair were almost straw-​like after washing. It was REALLY BAD, and i was there over 3 hours.
This was not just a ‘style difference’, no one seeing me come in and come out would have picked the ‘out’ version. I looked like a really trashy GOTH teenager.
I thought about asking for a ‘re-​do’, but didn’t trust her to do it.
Don’t misunderstand me; really sweet girl; obviously inexperienced.
I covered over the weekend (hats etc) and went to a storefront stylist shop on Monday to completely re-​do color. The damage from the SCREAMING BLONDE took months of crazy conditioning to address.
NOT a good experience.

Shear Steel is a really well set up salon, great atmosphere, friendly service (complimentary drinks too!), and all around a professional operation.
The stylist I can recommend is Bee Salas. She’s the best! I’ve been her client since 2007, followed her to a few different salons, and it has been a really great experience. The first day I met her she cut more than 10 inches off my hair. I trusted her immediately, clearly! It has been fantastic seeing her grow as a stylist in her knowledge over the years. She is definitely ahead of the curve with style & expertise. Bee loves her job, and truly cares about her clients.
I moved across the country recently, and am bummed to no longer be her client, however I hope to see her for a cut when I am back in town! :)

I have been going to my stylist Bee since 08 and she is AMAZING! She takes care of you and leaves your hair WOW! I’ve gotten lots of compliments on how great my hair looks and all thanks to her! I highly recommend her! She will direct in the right direction and how to take care of your hair :) The salon is a great place and so are the staff!

I had a small hair emergency (ha!) a few weeks ago and had a Groupon for Shear Steel. They were able to get me in the very next day. Nicole was incredible — listened to me and my hair turned out great! I loved the experience so much, I sent my husband in a few days later for his cut.
I’ve been looking for a stylist in the area, and while Shear Steel is a little further than I would have liked, the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff and Nicole’s great work have made me a repeat customer.

This is a fantastic, hip and fun salon! The staff is incredibly welcoming and if my experience was based on the staff alone, I would definitely keep coming back for more, but it doesn’t end there!
As soon as you enter the doors, you are transported in to a world of art, music, fashion, and fun! The walls are saturated with unique and amazing works of original art that are constantly changing, the air is filled with the sounds of your favorite rock and pop songs, and your eyes are appeased by the funky/​fun threads of the now.
To make the experience even more amazing, Kortni Kennedy is the stylist to see! This girl is a living dictionary of the best hair styles, colors and methods to keep you and your hair looking phenomenal! Kortni has been my favorite stylist for years, and she will never disappoint! You will definitely leave the salon looking and feeling like a million!

Great salon! Justin is amazing! I’ve been going here for years and am always impressed by all of the stylists but I remain loyal to Justin. I’m very particular about my hair and I’m always thrilled by the cut and color I receive.
The salon has a hip and friendly atmosphere with great art on the walls that changes regularly.
You won’t be disappointed at Shear Steel!
