Left before ordering food. Me and my boyfriend went for a late night dinner and drinks. We go in and it says to seat yourself and a waiter will be with you. We sat for 10 minutes, no one came to our table. Went to order a drink and I hear the bartender say they don’t have burgers, mashed potatoes, Shepards pie, and other items. They didn’t even have Diet Coke for my drink. Decided I didn’t even want to bother ordering food. The bartender was the only one working. I think the owner was just sitting there not doing anything to improve service. The prices seemed decent but with that service I was not going to risk getting bad food or waiting too long. Would never go here again.

I really don’t understand the negative reviews for this place. I went on a Wednesday and they were giving away a free pulled pork sandwich with the purchase of a drink(didn’t even need to be booze) and it was an AMAZING obviously fresh smoked pork pork. staff was very friendly, I left knowing half their names and feeling like family. I strongly recommend coming by on Wednesday, but I bet its a great bar just to get a beef and fries any time.

love love love their home made pork rinds, and their Barbeque sauces are great! The staff are very friendly and helpful, I loved the service… it’s located in a very old building and so it may get ‘cozy’ when you sit at the bar. They are still trying to get a rhythm going with this new establishment… they just got their liquor license. Hope that people give this place a try

I don’t understand the dislike for this place. The food is SOSO good. The kitchen service is EXTREMELY slow, but since the food is so good, I can deal with that. The inside is clean and smells nice. The wait staff is polite and unobtrusive. There are frequently cops here eating on their breaks. We ordered the fried pork skins which you can get in regular, medium, and hot. The regular is DELICIOUS and has that sight stickiness you can only find in homemade skins. We also had the pulled pork(very vinegary, but tender) with beans and corn pudding as the sides. The beans are just the right sweetness and the pudding was so good I had to fight not to lick the bowl. They have about 7 different sauces you can choose from to eat with your BBQ. The reason it’s 3 instead of 4 stars is how long it takes to get your food, no website, and the fact that they have no phone to call in and place your order for pick up. It’s 2015, there’s no excuse for that.

Was excited when I heard this place was opening up downtown. Anyway, I went with my wife soon after they opened and I was extremely unimpressed. The food was not good at all(pretty sure my mashed potatoes were instant) and they didn’t even have their alcohol license. Recommend staying away and trying some place else.

My husband and I were in downtown Fredericksburg and wanted to get lunch, and we finally settled on Darby O’Sullivans. When we walked in there was no one in sight, no hostess, no waitress, not even another customer. We waited patiently for a hostess to come greet us or at least seat us and no one came. I rang the bell that was near the door and still no one came. Needless to say we finally just left and went somewhere else. Obviously I can’t review the food, but as far as service goes it was really bad. The funny thing was the TV in the bar area was playing restaurant impossible. Maybe Darby O’Sullivan should contact the TV show maybe they can help them with the customer service problem.

It is a blend of Irish pub and Southern fare, but forget about tipping a pint; they have no liquor license. The place was empty when out party of 4 adults and 1 juvenile arrived, but that apparently overwhelmed the kitchen. It took WAY too long for entrees to appear, and they came 1at a time. The first of us to be served was nearly finished their meal before the next entrée appeared. It was truly absurd. The waitress attempted some excuse, but the logic was baffling. As for the food: it was not with the worth the wait. Much went uneaten and boxing it up to go was not going to happen. Their homemade tartar sauce seems to be coleslaw with paprika sprinkled on top. Peanut soup was interesting, but way too salty. Meatloaf and beer battered cod: inedible.
