Went with my Gf and her niece. Food was actually pretty good. Sushi was cut a bit to thin but was fresh and tasted great. Crab legs were excellent, A bit watery. They also need to refill the pan a little sooner, We did come in a bit early. I suggest waiting until 4pm. Things seemed to speed up a bit faster. Over pretty good experience.

…if you’re gonna go to a Chinese buffet, your best bet in the Fredericksburg area is Hibachi. Yes, it’s your typical«greasy Chinese food buffet», but there is a nice variety in items. You have your classic Chinese foods(Orange chicken, fried rice, lo mein, egg rolls, etc), but there’s also a nice selection of seafoods, sushi(my favorite part), and options for those picky eaters(fries, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc.) and everything is actually pretty god for a buffet. My favorite things are: the cheesy crab meat, sushi, crab ragoons, and the general tso’s chicken. One thing I would stay away from is the dessert bar-it’s a bunch of really odd desserts that don’t even taste remotely good, it’s all obviously vey cheap. They do have an ice cream freezer by the grill, so go for that instead. We always prefer to come to hibachi instead of ordering Chinese because every body can get what they want, and it’s much cheaper by the time you would order in 2 different dishes for each person.

Having moved here recently I am on a mission to create a list of go to places for decent food. As far as asian buffets go, this was only my second stop with the first being Teppanyaki Sushi & Seafood Buffet. Hibachi is better than Teppanyaki. The sushi bar had a wide selection of sushi(pictures below) and the selection changes while you are dining. Unlike most other sushi buffets, they did not overload the nigir with rice and I hope that habit does not change. The hibachi grill is decent although I wish they had garlic sauce. Everything else was not as memorable. I didn’t try the fresh seafood area(shellfish, oysters, etc) because it did not look… safe for a lack of a better word(personal opinion of course). I can’t say I will be visiting again, but if I do it will mostly be for the sushi. Note: Friday — Sunday $ 12.99 a person

I heard some good reviews from people outside of Unilocal.Went here because hubby and I were starving wanted Chinese and a buffet. I was soooooo angry at how the Buffet was. All the food was cold. They were not replacing anything. After we tried things we moved on to the sushi but by then I was scared to eat it thinking how fresh can this be if everything out here is cold and they were not replacing it? Then I was pretty sure they were closing the way they had the shop vac out cleaning near the food islands. But no they still had 3 hours to close. And yet still no fresh food. And to top it off as we were preparing to leave the«workers» or maybe«family/workers» we’re coming from the back sitting out behind us with a smörgåsbord of fresh delicious looking, Piping hot soups, rice, meals. That pissed me off. And I heard the hostess tell a lady paying her bill, how it’s slow so they didn’t have a lot of fresher food out! Seriously we paid full price for a buffet with 4 hours to close, and the employees deserved to eat better and free. Fuck that! I’ve never had such a bad experience anywhere. Oh and no one was manning the cook station so hubby even tried to gets one stuff made fresh but no one came out to cook. Sad sad sad. I will not be going around. The bug that flew around was not even a bother by then.

I loved this place when it first opened and went there a few months ago and everything was cold and when we spoke to the manager about it she offered to heat it in the microwave !!! Like really ?? lol and then we got up to leave she did give us a refund and while this was happening there were to guests next to us and they said there was bugs in their food ! And the manager said that there was only one bug it’s okay ! No never okay we won’t come back

The place is clean, and it does not smell like some buffets do that have sushi. The sushi bar is good and the fresh grill made to order is even better. The main buffet usually has two different style crab legs and there are always muscles, clams and oysters. Then they have the regular fare however people tend to hoard the crab legs so be ready there us usually a line for them. Over all reasonable food and friendly service.

Pretty decent Selection of food. The guy behind the grill was great, my food was cooked properly not leaving my veggies raw like other places. They have crab legs and raw oysters which is a huge plus for me!!!

Ok so its a BUFFET… don’t expect anything besides that, although the Mongolian Grill is really good… at least that seems fresh… Do Not expect Crab Legs, they are usually gone or they don’t fill it often or something, its seems to just be empty when our family has gone there… sooo, expect the greasy and the non-service(of most Asian Restaurants) until of course they bring you the bill… then its like code for get the hell out.

You go to a place like this to stuff yourself with Asian food until you look like Violet Beauregard on Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, not to be fed by a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Hitachi does just that at a fairly reasonable price, though not the bargain you can get elsewhere. What this place does do well is offer some bells and whistles others don’t, or don’t do well. The sushi they offer is that terrible abomination to ‘real’ sushi that has sauce all over it and my God, it’s amazing. They have all kinds of traditional and ‘Americanized’ sushi and sushimi that, alone, can make your bill worth it. The grill is awesome, my wife tells me, but I’ve never used it. The staff is kind and friendly, but if you don’t understand accents very well, brace yourself. Overall, the food is on par with large oriental buffets: not amazing, but fresh and plentiful. There is a good variety of foreign and domestic cuisine and the entire place is very family friendly. I would recommend this to anyone just looking for a casual«stuff your face» experience.

First and foremost, this place is a buffet. Expectations should be set for such. Service is great and very prompt from seating, taking drink orders, cleaning your table and paying when leaving. We went as a last minute stop in as we were starving and were on a bit of a time crunch. Food was good, not the best Chinese I have ever had, but again, it is a buffet. Wife enjoyed the Orange Chicken as it was sweet with no spice. I tried every piece they had on the sushi bar and enjoyed all of them. Along with the Wasabi and Soy Sauce, they offer a yum-yum sauce which is pretty good. They have some seafood on the bar which is always an attraction for many people. They had frog legs in with the seafood and I gave them a try as it has been at least 20 years since I last had frog legs. They were very good and I could easily make a meal out of them. Overall, good buffet with a large selection of various foods.

Ok so where to begin. I have been to this restaurant several times, it’s quickly becoming my family’s go to place. The food is pretty good. Typical buffet food, some dishes are better than others. While the staff does leave more to be desired, I will say they have their moments when they are really nice. If after today we haven’t been banned from setting foot inside, they will continue to receive our business. My grandfather insisted they move our table no less than five times(even though he was asked where he wanted to sit, he chose to play musical chairs to the tune of everyone dying of embarrassment). Our hostess had a minor attitude when time to take our drink order however no one in the group could fault her(except for my grandfather at being denied the last table switch, however that was my mothers doing). She continued to express irritation throughout even though I thought we weren’t that bad(maybe my one year old did come close to ripping the blinds from the window, but I made sure to keep him out of arms reach. He may have also thrown jello all over the floor but I cleaned that up as well). When I asked her for another cup for my son to drink out of, she declined and instead refilled my cup. I was annoyed but as my mother suggested I’m letting it go. The rest of our dinner went smoothly even though they had three different variations of the same dish(again I’m letting that go) and no crab legs(my mothers turn to let it go). Our waitress did not get any nicer but she did eagerly escort us back up front when we were ready to leave.

By far the worst establishment in Fredericksburg. I took my daughter there for dinner and there was a patron literally clearing out the bin as soon as the food came out… I complained to my server who did nothing… When I left, I asked to see the manager, hostess told me there was no manager. I explained that the other patron was clearing all the food and being inconsiderate of the other patrons… And the first thing she said was, «who? The black guy?» It happened to be another Asian person who was clearing all the food and when I pointed it out to her, she did nothing… I left without paying and I will never go there again… Save your money for a place worth it.

Loved it! Not really sure why people are giving two stars to a buffet restaurant. It’s kind of expected that you won’t be getting the highest top notch Chinese/Japanese food while also being a buffet. For what it is though, Hibachi is great food considering it is Chinese food mass produced for buffet sessions and pleasing your inner gluttony(which I succumb to myself unfortunately). It’s almost a steal considering the fact you can get crab legs and a nice selection of sushi at a comparatively low price. The setting of the restaurant is also very clean and the waitresses are polite. They also have imported beer too in case if you’re in the mood to drink while dining. The décor of the restaurant is classy and casual too, which looks ten times better than other buffet restaurants that tend to look run down and needing some deep cleaning. Again, don’t expect top notch Chinese food in a buffet restaurant. It’s just not economically feasible. If they have the absolute freshest food and top notch quality meats that just came in, it’s going to be a higher price. At the large quantity they’ll need for the all-you-can-eat dining setting, they would not be charging only ten dollars with those things considered. You can’t have high quality AND quantity. You can’t buy a brand-new spotless BMW or Aston Martin and only get it for $ 10,000. If you want high quality, then go to a more formal Chinese/Japanese restaurant. However if you just want to be full for a good afternoon, then by all means go to Hibachi! The food is relatively good.

I don’t know why I go to these places. I think hunger overtakes my good sense! Simply QUANTITY over quality. Very few items on the bar are worth mentioning. Ho hum 2 it’s finest. Please talk me out of going if I ever mention it again! :)

Let’s be real, if you’re going to a lunch buffet that has«a little bit of everything» and it costs under $ 10, you should be grading on a curve. The food on the buffet that they do well is really good! Mostly their Chinese offerings. The Hibachi portion of the buffet is great and it’s grilled hot and fresh! I’m leery of any sushi that’s offered on a buffet, but the couple pieces I had were decent enough. Again, you get what you pay for at buffets. HOWEVER, though the staff is friendly and attentive about clearing plates and refilling drinks, I had a major complaint yesterday. I’m not trying to be mean or funny here, I assure you, but our server had extremely awful body odor. I mean, it was unbearable! Imagine trying to keep your appetite when you have an awful smell walking past you several times while serving others. If ownership is reading this, please require your staff to practice proper hygiene and wear deodorant /anti-perspirant. It might leave a bad impression on customers and make them worry that your employees aren’t taking hygiene seriously, which in the food industry is of utmost importance.

I give this place 3 stars only because the service here was very friendly and polite. However, the food wasn’t that good. So I would rate it only 2 stars. The sushi, you might wanna stay away from. Not fresh and poorly made. :( There are some good things to eat at their buffet but mostly either bland or typical buffet style food. If you’re hungry and wanna eat like a pig and you’re close by then check it out and see/taste for yourself. I don’t think I will be back to eat here.

Walking in I was very impressed by the design/décor. I had high hopes for this restaurant, that were slowly crushed the more I ate. The staff was friendly and there certainly was plenty of options, but I didn’t think the food tasted that great. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no expert on Asian cuisine, but the things I normally love(lo mein, egg rolls, sushi) were just blah here(though the general tso chicken was amazing). I was also disappointed that none of the sushi was labeled, so it wasn’t until I was eating something would I realize that it was spicy(and I can’t handle spicy). I really wish I liked this place, but judging my the horrible stomach ache my fiancé and I both experienced afterwards, I don’t think we’ll be going back.

Hibachi Buffet is similar to King Buffet and other chinese food buffets except Hibachi’s buffet was fresh, their sushi offering was actually quite good for a buffet, staff was attentive, and the restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. They had a nice hibachi grill set up where you could select your meats, veggies and rice and a the chef would grill it while you wait. The cost was about $ 30 for two — slightly more than some of the other chinese food buffets in the area — but I thought it was worth it.

This is a new buffet place that just opened up in what used to be a steakhouse near the Super Walmart. Nice décor inside, with some TVs playing the show about repo men which was pretty random. The grill section is good — there is a man there who cooked me up some scallops, steak and mushrooms and that was excellent. Probably best thing there, definitely check that out. The sushi was ok but can sit out a bit, try to get it when its just made. Decent selection of sushi items though. Crab legs are included, and hot butter is ready next to the crab legs. Very good and they keep the crab legs coming. Big points for that. Other seafood I tried included coconut shrimp(similar to Red Lobster’s), shrimp with cajun spice(the best seafood i tried other than the crab legs, very tasty), oysters, clams, squid, mussels, mussels with cheese sauce(a bit strange), and shrimp wrapped in bacon with mayo(didnt come off as good as I hoped). Then there are the chinese standards– egg rolls, chicken and mushrooms, the meat on the stick, crab rangoon(only tasted cream cheese and no crab though), dumplings(ehh), a couple of soup varieties. They also have random selections of mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, pizza, etc. Then a dixie cup of ice cream at the end. Overall, cost was around 30 bucks i think for two. A bit better than the King’s Buffet nearby. Go if you like a variety of seafood, but if you aren’t into seafood it wouldn’t be worthwhile.
