Located at one of the busiest corners in Gainesville is Schlotzsky’s Deli. I love eating at this establishment for a good number of reasons. For starters, the price of the food is very reasonable, especially when you consider the quality and service. They bake their own bread — in store! Interior consists of a modern design with really cool electronic menu boards. The menu itself has something for everyone. There is a lengthy selection of vegetarian options as well as enough meat options to satisfy even the most hearty carnivore. I love to eat the bbq chicken pizza because I like the way the tangy bbq sauce complements the spicy jalapenos. In terms of sandwiches I always get the chipotle chicken sandwich because the chipotle mayo sauce that comes on it is TODIEFOR! Soup-wise I will find myself craving Schlotzsky’s broccoli cheddar. It is one of the few soups I will eat outside of my home. For those who can’t pick one options of these, the restaurant offers a «Pick any 2» deal so that you can mix and match your favorites. The Genoa salami on The Original sandwich is also amazing. You can tell that all of these ingredients are high quality. Schlotzsky’s has their own parking lot, which admittedly is not the best it could be, but there is plenty of space to park nonetheless. The location itself is across the street from the courthouse, on the same street as all the medical complexes and Brenau’s main campus. There is free wi-fi, and sometimes when I am there I will see people working on their laptops. The ambiance is very relaxed and there is light music in the background. It can get busy here and I know that they take phone-in orders as well. The bonus to this place, besides the great staff, is that they also have CINNABON!!! So besides their Big«S» cookies(haha!), you can make your sweet tooth happy with a nice big cinnabon treat. I will continue to eat here and highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area.

I give them 3 stars only because the food was decent, however if their portions matched their absorbent prices I would give them 5 stars. They are way too expensive for what you get.

I love some Schlotsky’s! It’s great if you want something a little different from the normal sandwich chain. This location is clean, the food is excellent, and service has always been great. The only issue you might run into is the small number of spots to park. However, there is a larger lot directly across the street.

Definitely a place in DECLINE… we went along with the«crowd choice» at a(wife’s) family gathering INSTEAD of having lunch at another TOP restaurant in Gainesville I had already decided I wanted to try. This was NOTMYCHOICE… and very disappointing, but I will be accurate. My wife, thinking of many delicious salads elsewhere, ordered the chicken apple cranberry pecan salad… with raspberry vinaigrette. TAKENOTE of the FOURBUZZWORDS before the word«salad!» MANYRESTAURANTS can do this combination with success. I have seldom seen my wife leave almost an entire 9-inch salad bowl of such a salad anywhere… and it LOOKEDLIKE she left all the chicken cubes in a little pile after EATINGAROUND them! She had had a modest breakfast, and hard to tell what we would be having later in the day so she should have eaten much more of it. When asked about leaving most all of the salad, she replied, «The raspberry vinaigrette dressing was good.» What, good dressing??? On further quizzing she said: «There were 2 slices of apple, the chicken chunks tasted like CANNEDCHICKEN, and there was, perhaps, a tablespoon each of cranberries and pecan pieces in the salad. Another in the party(who had arrived early) began his meal with a cinnamon roll… and ordered a chicken alfredo pizza & could ONLY finish half of it… even though he said it was good & offered it around the table. My wife had one slice, declared that it was good, and probably wished she had order THAT menu item. I saw«tuna melt» on the menu and thought about a «White Horse Tuna Melt» that is open-faced chunk tuna(with sauce) and cheddar cheese on a crispy-toasted half-baguette slice with dill wedge & crispy-toasted top with garlic butter served on the side. THEN my Schlotzsky melt arrived… bland almost-pureed tuna, supposedly with dill that could hardly be tasted, topped with tomato slices between two melted slices of cheese. Yes, it was a sandwich… there was a crispy chewy round slice of very open-textured sourdough bread on the bottom and another on the top of the sandwich. I appreciated the crunch and the chewy texture, but did not taste the«sourdough» flavor at all. The black pepper potato chips I PAIDEXTRA for were good… seems that LOTZ of sandwich at Schlotzsky’s does not include a bag of chips with your sandwich. AND it includes nothing else, the sandwich arrives all by itself on the plate. My lunch here cost me MORE than what my WH tuna melt would have cost me… and more than several acceptable choices at Two Dog would have cost! Oh BTW. the Men’s Restroom needs LOTZ of attention… I have been many places and seen many restrooms. This one is ONE of the NASTIEST restrooms I have seen… the majority of gas station restrooms are cleaner! I surely hope the Women’s Restroom is LOTZ better cared for! There you have it… I have not been in a Schlotzsky’s for quite some time… and it will take a long time for this memory to fade enough, MAYBE, to go again! Though I cannot imagine WHATFOR! My average rating ISONLYBECAUSE that chicken alfredo pizza MUST have been pretty good! I was very tempted to give 2-stars, not LOTZ.

This restaurant is common where I’m from, and compared to most others I’ve eaten at, this one is really pretty good. Fresh breads always and the counter service is really good. I’ll definitely return.

Waited right at 30 minutes for 4 sandwiches after we ordered. Staff didn’t even apologize for the wait when finally bringing sandwiches to the table. Good food but poor service!

One of the places I’ve missed most since moving from Texas. I always order the Texas Schlotzsky. I also love their Louisiana style hot sauce. Cinnabon is also a big plus. This site has a very friendly staff and seem to take pride in their product.

I guess anyone that has been here knows the parking sucks but the food is good if you know what you want. Do a true deli, but excellent bread and BBQ pizza– but loaded with carbs. Been here a while and stop when in town for the doctor. Love the turkey sandwich and jalapeño chips and always thought it was good for a downtown location. Mostly people get to go here. Bumping up a star since a bit of a bad rap. I never got a cockroach in my food and the place is clean so I’m still here once every 6 months.

This location was homely as I walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff. Since this was my very first visit, I was pretty impressed. Although I do think this place is a bit pricey, I do think it comes with quality and the varying bread selection. From the look of their menu, it seems like their quality branding is much different than the other sandwich places. For this occasion, I had a coupon I used to get a free 8 in pizza(chicken pesto) with a purchase of a 44 oz drink. The total cost was $ 2.13(smiles). The pizza was pretty tasty as I was starving. The order didn’t take too long either. Parking isn’t all that great but not too bad either because, of course, it’s limited spacing in the downtown Gainesville area – sort of. I might come by for lunch and try one of their sandwiches since the pictures look mouth watering. :)

I agree with Dwayne H. The parking does suck… it sucks the balls. Other than that, I didn’t have too bad of an experience here. I used to love going to Schlotzsky’s on Lawrenceville Hwy. in Tucker back in the day, but it has since closed(it’s been closed for years). Whenever I got a hankering for one, I would always lament about how far away they were from me. Anywho, we came upon this location while on the way to North Georgia Canopy Tours, and I was really looking forward to having an Original. I get up to the counter to order and found that they have changed the size of the sandwiches. The small used to be the medium, and the medium used to be huge. The small now-a-days is roughly about 4 inches across… I mean, it’s tiny! The price hasn’t reflected this downsize, though… –_– I ordered the medium Original on jalapeño bread with cracked black pepper chips(you get a drink, of course), which ran about $ 9. We sat down and the sandwich was delivered to us in about 5 – 10 minutes. My mouth started to salivate at the memories of how good the sandwich used to be. I took a bite and… nothing. It was okay, but definitely not the sandwich I remember. It’s a shame, really. Schlotzsky’s used to be the shizzle. Ah well.

Stopped by in a hurry because it was nearby. About average for a sandwich shop. Not bad, but not great either. Service was a bit slow, but sandwich was fresh and contained a decent amount of meat. The inside could stand to be cleaner, but have seen much worse.

Great new sandwich: beefy cheezy thing with bacon. Glad we got here in front of the Sunday lunch crowd otherwise it would have taken way too long to order and receive our food.

Just OK This place was really busy on Sunday. I have never eat here so I thought I would give it a try. Sandwich was served on a unique bread and was very tasty. I like Subway and the other regular chains better.

This location’s parking absolutely sucks and to be honest, I truly don’t know how this chain stays in business as their food offerings are just not that good. For the price, a person can do much better by finding a local family run deli; the area Publix offer’s a better sandwich!
