We enjoy the low prices and high level of customer service here. Come before 6 and chow down on the happy hour bar menu. Quesadilla and hamburger sliders are my fav!

How it all shook out: Service: 2 Stars Food: 2 Stars Ambiance: 4 Stars Most of the other reviews are spot on. Some good points and some bad. My experience. We had to wait several minutes to be seated while the tables were being cleaned even though there were many open and set up tables. The waitress came with coffee and to take the order in a reasonable amount of time. I did notice however that some people that came in after me waited much longer. One such couple seated near me waited a long time for coffee and pointed out to the server that a story in that day’s locale newspaper blasted the service. The server apologized saying she didn’t know who’s table that was then went on to say the customers are often very unreasonable. The food was just ok. My omelet was dry and the potatoes were not seasoned and dry also. The English muffin was burnt. Coffee refills were hard to come by and I had to wave to the server several times to get the check after almost a 20 minute wait. I can’t see any reason to return.

For many years, this place has been our«go-to» restaurant. Omg, what has happened? Only a few tables were filled; no one ever came to take our order in the bar area making it necessary to go to the bar to get the drinks ourselves; no happy hour rates or menu. Reportedly three people did not show for work that evening. But that too is all an indication of a tremendous problem with the new management. Neither the present or the future is looking favorable for this place. How sad!

The view was about the only good part of the dinning experience. Food took for ever and was cold when it arrived. Not all that many patrons sad experience.

Entertaining in Green Valley? AT Grill on the Green, Canoa Ranch Golf Club, you can have a dinner for twelve at a private table in the back OR a larger table in the private dining room with stocked bar. Last night, thanks to Josie, we had an exquisite banquet for twenty two of us to celebrate my husbands 80th birthday. Tim, the Maitre D’ took care of everything for us with EXCELLENT service and attention to detail! The U-shaped table was very festive. Tim even gave us a remote mike in order to «project» all the toasts from guests and words of love from our children! The dinners were served efficiently by several waitresses and the food was HOT!!! We highly recommend this place. Whether dinner for two, four or six or a banquet for more, you won’t be disappointed! Charlotte P.

Food is actually very good, both breakfast and lunch. The old fashioned is good also for those drinking alcohol. The french toast is so/so. Service tends to be a little slow it seems so don’t go if in a rush. Otherwise it was worth the affordable cost and the view from outside seating area is nice

This had to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had. We were seated quickly. Drinks ordered, but took a long time to come. My friends milk had somethings floating in it. Told the waitress and she just said ok. Took another 20 minutes to take our order. We waited over an hour for our food. There menu is very simple so why it took so long I have no idea. My son’s breakfast burrito was decent, but the rest wasn’t good at all. Cold pancakes, still frozen hash browns which there still remaking and just leaving. Never a mention of why they never came. The rudest service. I will not mention her name, but it was horrible. We will not be back.

Food: 4.75 Service: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Atmosphere: 5 New owners, new menu. Great food. I can usually withstand the bread rolls, but theirs were warm and super fresh. I had to indulge. For serving a party of eleven, these people made it look easy, moving tactfully with calm and ease. This woman was smooth, perfect timing, genuinely friendly face and attitude and stayed on top of each and every one of our needs. Good job! I started out with a Shrimptini– Reminded me of a Bloody Mary minus the Vodka it was so fancy! Bulging shrimps filled my mouth. I almost forgot to chew– those shrimps were sooo fantastic. Then my hungry brother(he’s always hungry and you would never guess because he’s so thin) ordered chips, salsa and guac for the table– AHHmazing guacamole— was so fresh and thick– with chips that tasted like they were just made. Salsa was all right, but guac was off the charts. Our table ordered a variety of dishes… too many to cover them all– you’ll have to go try for yourself. One minor complaint out of eleven people ain’t bad– You can’t please them all, no matter how hard you try! My main dish was the Grilled Romaine Hearts with… more shrimp! The shrimp was breaded, so I wasn’t jumping for joy, because I do my best to avoid all the fried stuff as much as possible– but those big beautiful shrimps were so tasty, the crust was easy to accept the way it was. The romaine lettuce hearts slightly grilled on the edge was something I have never had before. Yum! They have that charred taste to them with Parmesan and balsamic dressing smothered on top… Delicious! The view of the greens and the mountain cascades are breathtaking. Sometimes I don’t think I could ever live in the desert, then I see that dreamy purple sky, dark blue mountain ranges and silhouettes of saguaros in the distance — and I think maybe so. This restaurant has taken a turn for the best! Enjoy!

Don’t bother! As guests of the Wyndham Canoa Ranch, we received complimentary breakfasts at the Grill on the Green. You get what you pay for! We had the absolute worst service we’ve ever had in any of our trips to Arizona… It took over 10 minutes to be seated, another 10 to take our drink order(we also ordered or breakfast then), over half an hour for the food to come out and then it was cold on top even after it has clearly been microwaved… Microwaved pancakes are just rubber frisbees! Of course, nobody asked how it was(nobody bothered to come back!), but maybe they already knew? Everyone around us was saying the same thing and just leaving…

I wasn’t expecting much from this restaurant and I was still disappointed. My quesadilla was lukewarm and tasted nasty. The tortellini was filled with cheese and little of it was tortellini Also the bread was to small the salmon was just a small strip and wasn’t anything special. The Caesar salad was caked with dressing and made me feel sick so ask for it on the side. The wine was not great. There’s not great places to go in green valley but try to avoid this place.

First impressions can be tough! Our greeter was curt and insulting. We came in without a reservation and when being seated my boyfriend asked if we could have a seat with a window view. She asked if we had a reservation — and we did not. Her immediate response was to point to the table she started to seat us at and asked him«please sit down here» as she pointed to his exact spot she wanted him in. Her tone was the problem— she talked to him like a bratty kid who was misbehaving. Was not making a reservation cause for this attitude? Or did she take a personal insult that a patron under 60 chose to eat here?

Without a doubt the best burger in Green Valley! Their Abrego Burger with cheese and roasted green chile is simply wonderful. Today I had tortilla soup and the ckicken skewer with Thai peanut sauce. The soup was hot, mildly spicy and very tasty. The chicken was juicy, tender and while not a very authentic Thai peanut sauce, it was nonetheless very good. A friend had the sesame salad with tuna. She said the tuna was cooked perfectly but needed a bit more«zip» with some wasabi. Other times I’ve been there I have had the chopped salad — very good and the always wonderful burgers. The Grill on the Green is a bit off the beaten track, but is tasty and reasonably priced. Service can very, but the food is uniformly good!

I only ate here for breakfast, and it was thoroughly underwhelming. Now I’m not usually one for breakfast, but breakfast here was included as part of our hotel stay across the street. My wife, however, is all about breakfast, brunch, and brinner … and even she didn’t want to come back the next day, even though it was free! It was just a tiny buffet, not very many options to choose from. There were very few other people here for breakfast, so new food wasn’t being added to the buffet regularly. That being said, I’m sure that lunch or dinner here would be much better. The ambiance is really nice, and there’s nice views of the golf course(though it should really be called«Grill on the Practice Green,» hahaha!), and the waitress was friendly and helpful.

Eaten here three times on this visit… lunch mainly. The burgers are good served on a quality bun. Happy hour is a good time to try the Firecracker Shrimp. Dinner finds the place a little too dark for me so have not gone there for that recently. That meal generally was the rack of lamb. Their zucchini bread is something we always enjoy at dinner. They sell a loaf to take home so we’ll probably get one to take on the plane and have that in lieu of the yummy snacks on the flight. :p P. S. I forgot to comment about the wait staff… EXCELLENT, especially Shanon. I like when people know their product and keep their promises to bring something you requested.

Depends on dish. Excellent burgers. Smoked fish is a slimy joke … it never saw a smoker. Nice wait staff. Mellow setting. Soup of the day was superb.

The lamb chops were great, prepared perfect! The mashed potatoes need to be replaced with roasted potatoes or similar. The mixed veggies need some help as well, maybe some spices added. Roger, the waiter, needs a new job, he hates this one. The lady greeting folks at the door was super nice and welcoming. And the waitress serving the next table seemed to be very nice as well. My second beer showed up in a plastic cup. We sat outside and it was beautiful. Great views, birds resting on chairs, and rabbits all over the putting green.

Surprisingly Good! I stayed at the hotel that is linked onto this restaurant. I was in town for a family reunion. This was the most convenient & easiest place to get 12 of my family members to sit down & eat with each other without being too stressful… The lunch menu was pretty big & had lots of yummy looking selections from salads, sandwiches & wraps to more formal lunch plates. I ended up choosing the grilled salmon lunch plate which came with mashed potatoes & roasted vegetables. When it arrived, I was surprised about how much salmon they gave me & how beautiful the plate looked. All the food was arranged very nicely on the plate and everything tasted great. The salmon was grilled and crispy on the outside but juicy & tender on the inside. The veggies and mashed potatoes were fine, nothing too special. Overall I enjoyed my food & all of my family enjoyed their food very much. The service was friendly & I thought the price was fair for what we got… FYI it closes at 8PM, soo plan for an EARLY evening. Like I said early — a surprising treat! Especially for the area where not much is around. If you are staying here or in the area & want a more upscale feeling meal definitely stop in for lunch or dinner.

The experience begins when the friendly gatekeeper waves you on to the beautifully landscaped, winding drive through the Quail Creek resort community. I have eaten at The Grill on the Green at least half a dozen times and I never tire of walking up to the front door, which is flanked by a huge outdoor fireplace. Stepping into the expansive dining room, the first thing you see is a wall of windows overlooking the Santa Rita Mountains. With its slate, stone and deco touches, the dining room feels like a grand lodge at Yosemite. It has an airy, but cozy, feeling that makes every meal feeling like a special event. I’ve had lunch here several times. And dinner, too. It’s a wonderful place — probably the best in Green Valley — to celebrate special occasions. Last weekend was my Mom’s birthday. We were seated in a large banquette on the rear wall facing the stunning view. Perfect. The wait staff(and they were legion) were welcoming. The live guitar: spot on.(I could have listened to the guitarist play all night.) The only thing that made me pluck one star back from the five I was going to award was … the food. We ordered from a special menu of three course dinners — an okay salad to begin, a set dessert and choice of four or five entrees. We both chose the Tilapia. Ick. It was disappointingly tasteless and(for lack of a better word) «mooshy» sitting on heavy lump of rice. I know I should have sent it back, but I hate how that ruins an otherwise happy occasion. And it was edible. The food is typically very good! I look forward to giving that star back after my next meal, because I know I will be back.
