Oops… Big mistake to stop here… breakfast was a bust. Eggs were cold, service was horrible. Choose another place… Mommas is a far better choice.

Not happy with so called resturant. Always get condiments wrong and really a deli? Wouldn’t they have to give you some meat on that sandwich! Breakfast potatoes are the worst, all kinds of so called spices when asked I was told oh well everyone else likes them. Two thumbs down.

Food was good but not taking debit or credit cards is unheard of in this age. Cash and check is now posted at doorway when you go there. Service was very kind to their patrons. Owner needs to reconsider payment choices. If you do not like their food just don’t tell them on premise they bar you from coming back.

Great food. Cool atmosphere. Lots of options. Fresh foods and meats. Husband loves the border Caesar chicken wrap. Gets it every time and is always pleased with the quality. I’m a fan of the veggie wrap and was excited that a deli would even have an option on their menu for vegetarians like me. Decent service. Usually packed. Popular spot. Staff remembers you which makes you feel special. Great local spot for afternoon lunch with friends. By the way, the fresh chocolate chip cookies don’t look like much, but boy, are they delicious!!! Would recommend this restaurant.

We would have eaten here 25 times since July, but they were only open once when we went there they were always closed! We did get that one sandwich and it was good. Why no debit cards? And why does Green Valley have mostly sandwiches in their restaurants? I din’t eat bread, so there you go.

We have tried to go to this restaurant several times. they keep very unusual hours that do not match what they have on their website. They only accept cash or check. When we finally made it while they were open we were quite disappointed. The food was expensive for what you get. The hot pastrami had barely enough meat to cover the bread. The meat was dry and over cooked. The rest of our meals were equally disappointing.

Every time I go to old Chicago the service is always sub par and everyone that works there seems like they’re in a bad mood. With that being said, I’ll still patronize the business because their sandwiches are amazing. I recommend the Chicago Reubens on rye. The muffins are notable as well.

Had the cubby sandwich. It was ok, nothing too special. The customer service was horrible though. I definitely had the feeling that I was bothering them for coming in.

Scones are more like soft biscuits with icing on top. Not a true scone at all. Breakfast was just ok. The 25 cent cup of coffee is now 50 cents and not worth a penny. Very weak and tasteless. Would gladly pay a proper price for a really good cup of java. Ham salad from the deli was good. And I’m sure the Boar’s Head products are good. Owner who did the omelets was in a bad mood when my friend sent hers back to be made as she requested. A good place for cold cuts and ham salad. If your taste buds don’t work, the rest is probably ok.

Just attended the opening expanded hours dinner. The Old Chicago Deli has been around a long time in Green Valley for several years. But only open for breakfast and lunch. It was so beloved by the surrounding community that they expanded it to dinner. Get ready for one of the great deals of all time. The Jambalaya is as good as it can get. I had the chopped sirloin and it was very good. Bill had the meat loaf and he loved it. But probably the most amazing part is the bread pudding for dessert! Hand made by Mark, the owner. You must not miss this. Our friends, Henry and Donna, couldn’t make it this time but they will wish they had. :-) One last thing, this restaurant is probably the cleanest restaurant I have ever seen. BTW, coffee is 25 cents and good! Even iced coffee is 25 cents.

This place has the best breakfast in Green Valley. So much better than any franchised restaurants out there. This place can get a bit busy when the farmers market is going on down the road, but the wait is never really that long. They Eggs Benedict is to die for. I absolutely love it. There house potatoes are wonderful as well. My husband gets the biscuits and gravy or the French toast, which my father-in-law says is the best he’s ever had. Before you leave do yourself a favor a buy one of their house made scones. They are wonderful and baked fresh every day. This restaurant also has a full deli, so you can pick up wonderful meats and cheeses. The wait staff is fast and friendly, and do what ever it takes to make you happy.

Good food made fresh. Cheap coffee that is good to drink. Pastries. Staff is friendly. I thought the price was fair and the servings size was good.

Went there for the first time today. I ordered a ½ pastrami sandwich & mac salad. Both were pretty tasty, but the waitress was not friendly at all. She acted like she hates her job and that it was an inconvenience to take my order. After my food came I wasn’t ever checked on again. I needed a drink refill, but it never happened. I can get a good pastrami sandwich elsewhere and get friendly service, so it’s pretty doubtful I’ll ever return to this place.

Good local spot for breakfast and lunch in Green Valley. Can be a bit inconsistent with food and ever so changing staff due to poor management, but prices are fair and for the most part food is excellent. Recommend the Philly Wrap or Breakfast Wrap, also have great sandwiches.

I was talking to the staff who greeted me when we walked in, when I asked what everyone like here, he first replied«everything» then touted the pulled pork, & let me smell his special rub. That’s what I ordered, my companion had the chicken salad. It was horribly stuffy inside, so we sat outside in the hot sun. Our service and food delivery was VERY leisurely(ie: s l o w). The pulled pork was served on a great roll, and was quite good, the pork was finely shredded and the sauce thick. From the many side choices, I chose nice cold fruit, it also came with a crisp pickle. My companions chicken salad was oddly textured, as if the chicken was ground, before I knew what she’d ordered I thought it was tuna. It was served on a bland white bread, she chose macaroni salad as a side. She said both were just OK. Our bill was $ 16 for the two sandwiches, no drinks.

Not bad. Things seem a bit overlooked. Great selection. Lousy Mac salad but I’m used to Hawaiian Mac salad. Friends gave this place rave reviews. But maybe it’s their perspective of being out in the desert. Worth a second try though, service was good, and fast and prices reasonable.

I’ve been to Old Chicago Deli several times and it generally wavers between mediocre and poor. The food is ok — typical low end deli fare but the service and general atmosphere is dismal. The décor is ugly, the layout is uncomfortable and it generally looks like it needs a good cleaning. Every time I’ve been in there the cooks are constantly shouting — either at the waitress or each other. This is the first restaurant I’ve ever eaten in where the bill was delivered with the food — same time. I had to flag the waitress down to get a water refill — good thing I didn’t want to inconvenience her by ordering something else. I realize there aren’t many options in Green Valley — in fact most are even worse than this place but that still doesn’t make it good.

It’s a good place to grab a sandwich or a salad, mediocre taste, I knew I wasn’t going to like them much because their brand is boarshead. It’s still better then subway.

I love the OCD! While their décor could use a lil’ tweaking(READ: Needs major overhaul!), that’s the only complaint I have… But you won’t even notice anymore once the waitress comes around. Usually, there’s only this one waitress taking care of the whole place(even during peak hours), and she’s phenomonal, with a capital«P». Everyone there wears their personalities on their sleeves, so it’s a real treat to go inside for a visit. Then there’s their food. I’ve eaten at my share of delis, and this particular one has always been my favorite. I’ve never encountered a sandwich there I didn’t finish off like a glutton at lunch. Their breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, and this the ONLY place I’ll eat eggs Benedict. Even their coffee is fantastic, and, for only a quarter, you can’t beat that!
