Off Derby Shoe Outlet

Went here today for the first time and was impressed. It is the outlet store for the Shoe Market so they have great shoes at more reasonable prices. Very impressed.
I find the 1 star review ridiculous.. support small local businesses or don’t. that is up to you. But don’t expect a local business to automatically match a big online seller’s prices. That is not realistic nor fair. 1 star for that?

I pop into this outlet on a fairly regular basis for the thrill of the shoe hunt. I am in love with its big sister store, The Shoe Market, which is the full-​price version located at the Derby Street Shoppes. But here, I can always hope to find what I think of as devil-​may-​care bargains.
There are aisles and aisles of women’s shoes both dressy and casual with steep mark-​downs because they are likely last year’s styles or shoes that just didn’t sell well and needed to be rotated out of the main store.
There are shoes, sandals, boots, flips flops, some sneakers and even a pair of slippers or two. There are a few handbags thrown in the mix.
It’s hit or miss in here but the merchandise changes frequently enough that visiting regularly is the way to go. You never know what you’ll find. A couple of days ago I bought some semi-​wild strappy sandals. Conservative they are not. I love them although I don’t know that I would have paid full price for them. At the deeply discounted price point I can allow myself to have fun with them without feeling like I have to get so much wear out of them to justify the purchase.
The set-​up is «help yourself» to shoes that are displayed on racks according to size.
What they have is out, so there is nothing for anyone to fetch from the back room.
The staff is always friendly and available even though this is self-​serve. There are plenty of seats and mirrors and the store is roomy and comfortable. Take your time, no one will rush you. Roam around in those shoes to see if they really feel comfy.
Then have yourself some fun, buy those crazy bright yellow ones just because; they’ll put a smile on your face without putting a dent in your wallet.
