Unfortunately I came here with my spouse and friends. Places like these aren’t usually my scene, but I decided to give it a try and have an open mind. The place was very crowded on the Saturday night I went, but it was highly expected with a 20 yard line out the door. After we made it in, we got drinks and service was very fast, however, the alcohol content was almost next to none. It’s semi difficult to navigate through the crowd to make your way around the bar, to the bathroom, and dance floor. There’s a few shoves here and there from rude kids like normal, but what happened that night was totally unexpected and unnerving. I was walking with my spouse to get closer to the dance floor past the bar area and there was a crowd block moving rather slowly. As we were slowly walking through, one of the bouncers punched me three times in the back and shoved me further into the crowd. I turned around astonished and noticed that it was a worker/bouncer at the bar. Now my back is in pain, I had the breath knocked out of me, and I’m upset. The worst part about this, this man was at least 6′ 250lbs and I’m a 5′ 100lb girl. I will never ever come back here, and if I had the man’s name and didn’t leave my phone in my car, I would’ve called the police for assault.

Came here with two friends. The bartenders were too stuck up and rude like they were annoyed we were ordering drinks off them even though we were tipping and knew our order strait away. Won’t go back

I had actually planned on giving this place a good rating after drinking for a few hours but what happened towards the end of the night was uncalled for and they’re lucky I didn’t call the cops on them.
After receiving average service all night our service went to sh*t as the bartender would only come over and take our orders once every 20 minutes. I get it was busy but taking everyone else’s orders around us even though we were tipping every drink is kind of ridiculous. So for the last two rounds of drinks I didn’t tip and wrote a note on the receipt as to why I wasn’t tipping. Not anything rude, just a simple, «I’m sorry I’m not tipping but being forced to wait 20 minutes for every drink while you take everyone around us’s drinks is kind of ridiculous.» Then I went downstairs to meet my friends but went back up when I didn’t see them. When I passed the bar by the foosball table I was shoved out the side exit by the bartender from earlier, confronted about the note and pushed down the stairs. PUSHEDDOWNTHEFVCKINSTAIRS!!! WTF?!! And I just checked my bank account to see that he added a $ 17 tip when I in fact had not left any. I wanna like this place but you can be sure I’ll be contacting management and the police.

This place serves food like a normal restaurant? During my six years on the island I frequented Waikiki often when I was 21, 22, 23. It was always a good bar to start off at during our bar hopping adventures. A lot of the times we ended up back here after going somewhere else. Occasionally it was back and fourth trips between Kelly’s and Moose’s depending on the crowd, music and service. Some of my favorite bars have since closed down in the last couple of years(Senior Frogs and Coconut Willies) and some bars should close down that haven’t but Moose’s is one of the better ones in Waikiki along with Rum Fire. It usually doesn’t get going until like 10−11pm. It can get crowded but drinks are good and the dance floor was usually packed and fun.

I think this is more of an evening place for drinks but my hubby loves it so much for breakfast! I love that he can get big thick slices of french toast for breakfast while I get the Hearty Hawaiian breakfast. Fried rice for brekky plus 3 eggs done the way I like them? yay! mmmmmm :) Interior is dark for brekky but again, it’s more of a night place I think so that makes sense. It’s always really quiet in the mornings, making it a calm and cool spot to go to for breakfast before venturing back out to the hawaiian sun!

#ratchetcity. The best city. The only city. We all know the reputation of Moose’s. Sorry Mos Eisley Cantina, you ain’t got nothin’ on Moose’s. A wretched hive of scum and villainy? That’s Moose’s on a GOOD day. And that’s just the way the wildlife at Moose’s like it. Because that’s basically what you find in Moose’s: a bunch of wild animals in heat because it’s mating season every Tuesday night. They come to drink the $ 1 shots and meet the Asian nationals living in Waikiki while brushing shoulders with our brave military troops and international tourists from across the globe. I don’t even know where parking is. I think they don’t have any. Just cab it. It’s Waikiki, so why give yourself the headache of navigating the clogged arteries there that pass themselves of as streets. So this place is where you go on a Tuesday night if you want to travel the globe. Meaning, if you want to meet people from all across the world. That are ratchet. Just like you. Because it’s #ratchetcity. And the shots are $ 1. And there are Asians from Asia and Europeans from Europe prowling this diverse international mecca of global citizenship joining hands raised brotherhood and the possibility of finally quenching their thirst in Hawaii.

Aloha, Given the fact that this is not the first time it’s happened I feel comfortable sharing this in this forum. The place, well it’s a bar with food and beer that’s almost flat, but if you are in Waikiki and meeting a friend for a burger it’s a easy place to meet up, some street parking here and there but better off on a moped. The food is bar food of course, some days better than others and that’s ok because that’s what you expect, so burger and fries nothing to write home about but certainly does the trick after a long day in the sun. The music is a 80s-90s mix and hits the spot as well, so we’ll if the music is good as is the location and the food is acceptable then what? What you ask? Well I’ve been sitting at table for the past 15 minutes and no one has approached me to offer a drink or menu. There are about 6 open tables and most of the people are eating and drinking and I’m getting Hangry! If it’s busy and packed I understand, however if it’s not, and this makes me feel like I’m wearing the wrong colors, and today it’s a light blue tee shirt and a pair of shorts with my slippers. Long story short, time to walk over to Giovanni’s and reschedule my dinner plans. Happy Tuesday ;) Just realized I haven’t shaved in about a week, maybe it’s me?

It is extremely rare that I leave zero tip, but my latest visit to Moose McGillicuddy’s inspired such a protest. Arrived to discover a nearly empty dining room, at six pm on a Saturday that seemed odd, since it is high tourist season, but hey the prices are good and since almost no one was there I service HAs to be good. Was seated right inside the door which was convenient for my disabled dining partner. Waited several minutes and the server took our drink order, he asked about rye whiskey and said that he had never heard of it. The bar tender confirmed that they had it, but it took about ten minutes for the drinks to come, the wait was so long the server returned empty handed to reassure that they were still coming… all this in a nearly empty bar. Ordered food. I ordered the steak special the server asked how I wanted the steak and I told him medium rare My dining partner had a burger. There was a bit of a wait for the food but the steak come on a platter, so it was well presented. As we were eating one of the workers arrived and stood about four feet away from the table and told her co-workers that she had been bitten by a dog earlier in the day, and described the wound and how it was ‘to the bone’ and swelling. definately not a conversation that should be overheard while trying to enjoy a meal. I had a mouthful of steak and it tasted like cardboard, so I added some salt and decided to slice into the middle of it: it was well-done, so I sent it back and ordered another drink. About ten minutes later the food runner brought another platter with all of the sides and mentioned that if I don’t eat the steak quickly it would cook on the plate. I knew that was a dubious claim, I said ‘well let’s slice it open now and see if it is medium-rare. As I cut it the runner commented ‘oh that is well-done.’ So she called the server over and I told them That I did not have anymore time to wait so he brought me the bill, including the charge for the steak dinner. So I went to the ATM while my dining partner waited and paid the bill. The server brought the change and informed me that he rounded to the nearest dollar in my favor. I picked up the change and left. At least now I know why a cheap restaurant is empty at 6pm on a Saturday during high-season.

I’ve heard about this places for years and decided today was the day. It is a typical bar atmosphere with TVs at every turn. There’s a lot of food advertisement outside and that is what made me decide to give this place a try. My waitress must’ve been new or recently hired. She was not as engaging as a couple other waitresses. She was friendly and pleasant. To tell you the truth, I was not impressed with the food to say the least. The coconut shrimp meal for their Thursday special was so not special. It was eight tiny shrimp on a skewer, dipped lightly in batter and fried. I was expecting something meatier since it was a «shrimpfest.». The shrimp had to mean size wise because there wasn’t much shrimp to click my heals about. I don’t think I’d come back here since I’m not into alcohol. I’m a chick into meals that are yummilious and worth the time to eat. Maybe if they improve their menu, I’d come back, but until then«Heck no techno.»

Sure, this place is a bit grungy, with sometimes sticky tables, sticky floors, and sticky visitors, but where else can you find $ 4 drinks for ANYTHINGYOUWANT! Yes, folks, that means bottom shelf liquor, top shelf liquor, and everything in between. Friday and Saturday nights, 7 – 11PM. You’re welcome. My friends and I have been a bit spoiled, since we’ve been coming to Moose’s for a few years now, before they recently upped their prices from $ 3 drinks to $ 4 drinks. But when we’re looking to get bat shiz crazy with alcohol, there is no other place than Moose’s! Pro tips: 1) $ 7 cover can be avoided with purchase of an Island Discount card(iDcard), but even with the cover, if you plan to drink, it’s worth it. 2) Their hamburger and fries can also be worth it(and a lifesaver) around 11PM. 3) Please take a cab; you’ll need it. Cheap drinks. Dance floor. Another round… The End.

Moose McGillicuddy’s AKA Moose’s is a landmark in Waikiki. Primarily a bar and late night place to go for those who didn’t drink enough before 9:00 pm and who don’t want to go back to their hotel before midnight. Mixed Reviews: You just have to accept the fact that this is a tourist bar in the middle of tourist central in the Tourist Capital of Oahu… Waikiki. Cheap Beer and tourist food. Loud music, loud people and that is just the way it is. I’m just saying that one needs to be realistic about what this is. The reviews range from«great laid back pub with great burgers» 5 Stars to «watered down over priced badly mixed drinks. Go anywhere else.» 1 Star. I’ve been there at night too as a friend of mine plays in the band in the downstairs bar. The band is good. If you are into music these guys are quite talented. Café: But I had breakfast recently at the café and that café experience is really what this review is about. Service: Friendly and efficient waiter who was willing to joke around and socialize with anyone who was in the mood. Food: I had a short stack of pancakes with a side of fresh fruit. They were good pancakes. My friends had a Loco Moco and an omelet with fried rice and breakfast meats. They liked their food too. The coffee was strong but not burned or too old. We all agreed this was pretty good coffee if you like it like that. And we did. It was not the smooth but robust Kona coffee that one becomes accustomed to in Waikiki hotels. Ambience: It seemed worn but clean and didn’t have any weird smells. Seemed like it hasn’t been remodeled since it first opened in the 1980s. Like someone else mentioned in a review, «If you have been to any beach destination anywhere in the world… you have been to Moose’s». Be realistic: I recommend Moose’s if you are drawn in when you walk by or you just want some $ 3 drinks. If looks too touristy for you, it probably is. There are other options readily available. Street Smarts: Yeah, if you have been drinking and find it is time to head back to your hotel. Then do that. Stay out of dark alleys, side streets and realize there are lots of creepy characters trolling Waikiki after hours.

Underwhelming Irish pub that felt more like a Beef ‘O Brady’s than anything else with waitresses buzzing around with sizzling plates of fajitas and other painfully unauthentic Irish foodstuffs. Bar service was shaky. I found it a bit hard to get an order in, and when I finally did, the guy made me feel like a little bitch because I ordered some fruity Hawaiian drink. After two neat bourbons across the street I wanted something light and local, and look of «What kinda man are you?» on the bartender’s face was really unnecessary. We had our un-Irish fruit cocktails, some Irish car bombs and got the hell outta dodge. Not a must visit IMHO.

A much welcomed respite from the bustle of the main drag! My friend and I were looking for something quick and inexpensive so we stumbled in here. I was super excited to hear that our server was also gluten free so she was the perfect go-to to help me decide on dinner. We ended up splitting the steak fajitas and kalua pork. The pork was a bit on the salty side but I think that’s why I loved it so much! They accidentally brought out chicken instead of steak but happily brought us out the steak as well for no additional charge. My friend also got the quesadillas for a starter and they looked pretty legit as well. This was a nice little find and hit the spot, for an off the strip sports bar. I’ll remember it’s an option if I’m ever in Honolulu again.

It’s a pub, it’s in Waikiki, it was taco Tuesday Tacos were filling. I think the shrimp taco was the best. Tip: be sure to ask for extra Sakai if you order a side of chips. Place was fairly empty at 4:30, service was incredibly slow and the order screwed up only slightly when it arrived lol. Decent happy hour drink prices and if your trying to get your drunk on then show up here after 7:00! $ 1 drinks. I’ll be back.
