Fast food for some Korean food, ordered the bulgogi nothing special really and to be honest a little bit short on the meat, and no side dishes too :(

This place has been my regular spot for lunch lately. I like that they are fast, the cashier is friendly, and the food is good. I had the pork and kimchi soup with udon noodle during my first time and loving it. I forgot the name and had to go thru 4 wrong orders before I stumbled upon it again. Honestly the pork and kimchi soup is my only favorite dish from this place. Like I mentioned, I had tried their other soups and I wasn’t a big fan. Seatings can be tough to find if you come with a big group on a weekends.

Out of all the restaurants in HMART, I frequent this one the most. This place is known for their stone bowl soups. There is a variety of soups available but my favorite is the bulgogi spicy soup served in the stone bowl. I always get extra hot sauce and add in seaweed and kimchi that is available for you on the counter. Seating is limited and I have had to fight for tables many times. It also gets pretty dirty so be prepared to clean up the tables/chairs.

Service is always super fast(no more than 5 minutes) and very friendly at this food court stand, located inside H-Mart. I usually go for #1 bibimbap(rice with mixed veggies and beef, maybe it’s bulgogi? and topped with egg) or #14 haemul soondubu(spicy seafood and tofu soup, served with rice on the side). As other reviewers mentioned, #1 bibimbap has little meat, but I think that’s more authentic to Korean meals – they don’t eat as much meat as Americans do. Everything is served in a hot stone bowl, so you know your food will be hot the entire time you’re eating. Side dishes and a miso soup is available for customers to get what they want, and as much as they want.

Our family went to h-mart and wanted to try Korean food. We were right to order at BibiJo. We had Hot Stone Bibimbop and it was perfect. Tastes subtle, authentic Korean food made with fresh ingredients.

Been shopping here for years and this is a regular stop. Veggies and tofu hot stone soup, both spicy and non spicy are my favorites.

Very disappointing. My entrée Beef with rice had very, very little beef and a raw cracked egg on top of the whole thing. Yuk. Bland tomato purée looking type of sauce. Blah! When I told the clerk how little meat dish had she said the cook just gets skimpy at times and is intimidating if she is told about it. Oookkkk… Nearly $ 9 lunch-total waste of money. #neverforget

Had the spicy pork soup. Not great, but not bad.

Killer kimchi stew. There’s a lot of options in the food court area and they’re all good but I’d definitely go here for kimchi stew first.

I should have listened to others. #1 bibimbap. There was barely any meat! I’d need at least 2 – 3 times the amount of meat. David N. was spot on when he said«it’s mainly rice in a stone bowl, with very little meat». The flavor was alright, but it was a rip. I had to add a lot of kimchi to it. So much rice. Pass on this unless you like eating spoonfuls of just rice. I won’t judge, I just like meat.

BiBiJo is located inside the H-Mart food court. Food is cooked to order and comes out very fast. It also tasted less oily than others. Everything is self-service. Most Korean places give you plates of side dishes with a little bit of each. At BiBiJo you can grab the ones you like and as much as you want. Overall 5 stars. Quick, casual, inexpensive, easy to order menu with pictures, and great food. Go check out this hidden secret, and be sure to browse the grocery store afterwards!

I get the hot Bibimbap at this place, and really enjoy it. Nice option of kimchi and soup that you can serve yourself as sides. Sometimes it is difficult to get a table in the food-court-ish area, but usually people are willing to move around so that you can find a place to sit. The food comes out pretty quickly, within 10 minutes. Not the best bibimbap I have ever had, but it is pretty good!

Get a #20. Bulgogi in a hot stone pot with noodles. I’ve been getting this for the past few years, and while it sometimes disappoints(I’ve gotten too much liquid, or a different type of noodles), when it’s really good it’s fantastic. I add in all of the sauce that comes on the side, and then quickly stir everything around as the onion and bean spouts cook, making sure to scrape the sides so the noodles don’t get stuck. The bulgogi is tender, and the noodles are so, so good. They don’t accept AMEX, which is pretty standard at all of the little food shops in H-Mart.

They have a wide variety of hot stone soup from spicy to non spicy with various types of noodles. I love that the soup comes out boiling hot and remains hot even when I’m done eating. The food is good but it’s located in Hmart so they have limited seating. I don’t like having to rush and scout for a table just so that you can eat together with your group. I don’t suggest eating here in large groups. There are other stand alone Korean restaurants that offer similar hot stone soups if you’re with a big group.

Why eat in a grocery store? It’s fast, cheaper, and still authentically good! If you’re ever shopping in the Korean supermarket, H-Mart, and just want to sit down for some Korean tofu soup, this place is definitely an alternative to Chinatown’s, Tofu Village. This is part of the cafeteria side of the store with all the tables to eat at, so don’t expect a ‘fancy’ atmosphere. I haven’t tried anything else yet, besides the mild hot stone tofu soup w/bulgogi beef because I’ve been hooked ever since the first time! I love tofu soup and the one they make here actually has a bit of a sweetness flavor than some others I’ve had. The flavor is great and addicting and comes out scorching hot(so wait a bit before eating!). For ~$ 8, it comes with a bowl of rice and unlimited side dishes that you can self-serve from the side(includes bean sprouts, kimchee, seaweed, and miso soup). The bulgogi beef option has a half-boiled egg and onions with the soup, enough for one. There’s also other options(like pork that comes w/kimchee in the soup, or seafood, etc.) many options to pick from! The Korean lady at the front is real nice and can make recommendations based on what you want, they can also adjust spiciness levels based on preference. I would eat here again if I want some quick tofu soup that’s still good and flavorful!

I ordered the non-spicy short rib galbi dish. It was served with glass noodles at the bottom with a mix of vegetables and rice cake. The rice cake was my favorite part of the dish. I like this place because they had such great service! The lady was attentive and gracious. When I asked her how many times I can get miso soup and sides, she said I can get as much as I wanted. ;) She also gave me the appropriate number of silverware and dishes I needed for my meal, and I didn’t have to wait very long for the food to be prepared. I will definitely come back and try their other dishes.

This is a delicious and surprising food stall in the middle of H-Mart, a large Korean supermarket(if you’re not familiar with it). There’s not much to say here — you get a sizzling hot stone bowl embedded in a wooden tray. There’s raw egg and meat and rice and vegetables in the bowl. There’s hot sauce. You can add kimchi from the counter. Stir everything together. Let it cook a little until the rice is crispy. And then gobble. The best part is that after you eat, you can shop the unfamiliar(to me) and tasty looking foods in the supermarket. And, maybe, return for round 2.

What an unexpected amazing culinary treat! Who would have thought one of my favorite eateries in this foodie city is in the food court of a grocery store!!! Service is fast and food comes out quick…(less than 5mins) Bibimbap served in a HOTSTONE bowl encased in a beautiful wooden box. What a cool presentation for such a delicious meal. Rice, sprouts, mushrooms, carrots, teriyaki chicken and a raw egg that were sizzling and cooking right in front of us. Again, what a cool presentation. The lady that works this counter is super nice and invited us to help ourselves to the complimentary ginger tea, kimchi, seaweed salad and other sauces off to the side. What great service! This place is a win on so many levels and lastly… it’s CHEAP!!!

So. My favorite place(in Houston) to get Bibimbap is in a food court of a grocery store. I’m not saying it’s the fanciest, and you’re certainly not going to be remotely wowed with the little bowls of sides here(ya get three options), but the actual bowl of Bibimbap is lovely. If you are on a quest for comfort food, head here. I get the #1. Not because it’s safe(think those people who only order Pad Thai at Thai restaurants), but because I like the playing with your food aspect. You order and pay, then wait for your number to be called out. When you pick up your tray two minutes later, go to the far left of the counter and get your soup if you want, kim-chi, seaweed salad, the other salad I never get. Head back to your table(or a table if you haven’t already saved yourself a spot). Yes, you’ve been looking at a raw egg on top of your food — you’ll be fine. Trust me. And the sizzling means — do NOT touch your bowl inside the wooden block. Once you sit, your food should just be about ready to be stirred. Carefully fold it and stir it. The rice will be a little crispy if it was on the edge, next to the INCREDIBLYHOT bowl. That’s good, you want parts to be crispy. Stir, lady or sir, stir. Add in the bowl of red sauce, then some kim-chi. Heck, put all of it in the bowl. Stir. Now eat. I realize if you get one of the soups, your experience is going to warrant other directions. Whatever.

Bibijo Express is my favorite place to eat @ H-Mart. Sure I’ve been tempted by other really yummy looking dishes from the other places but I love, love the soup at BE. Especially the Seafood and Tofu soup served in a cast iron bowl which ensures your soup will be boiling long after you sit at your table. So while it cools down, lean over and smell the deliciousness while giving your face a nice steaming. Lunch & a facial… what more can a girl want? But seriously, it is a tease & it can be an excruciating wait for the soup to cool enough to take that first spoonful. Ohhh and it is so worth it. My mom got the skinny from the owner that they prepare the broth a day ahead of serving. Beef & shrimp based, this broth is packed with flavor. Generous protions of tofu, shrimp, mussels, squid, squash, zucchini, onion, and the pièce de résistance — an egg dropped in. I try to get to the yolk before it cooks but only have been successful a couple of times with a gooey center. The dining area is shared with the other vendors so jockeying for a table can be challenging when it is busy. The tables & chairs aren’t kept very clean(not sure whose responsibility that is but seriously, wipe down the chairs!). I don’t worry much because any germ, dirt, or microbe that get near these bowls are killed immediately and hey I’m still kickin’ so I figure I’m right about this one.
