I love the place. Great food, quick service. The only reason I decided to give 4 starts instead of 5 is that the food is a lot better in Korea. I understand it is difficult to cook similar food in the States, but they do a good job.

Hooray for Jjajangmyun Wednesdays! You get a whole bowl of Jjajangmyun(a Korean Chinese food noodle dish) for $ 5⁄6 if you come in on Wednesday. This happens to be my ultimate favorite Korean dish, so I’m all about it! Along with the great price, they also make it pretty well. The only thing is that the portion seems a bit on the smaller side, since I was hungry enough to eat a whole other meal after finishing this — but maybe it was my «second stomach» usually reserved for Korean BBQ making an appearance for dinner. They also have a special on Tuesdays for Gamjatang(Pork neckbone and potato soup), and on Fridays they have a trio deal.

Seafood noodle soup and black bean noodles were my favorites and they are very satisfying when you are hungry.

I’ve been here twice already. I always get the jjambbong. The first time, the broth was spicy and rich with seafood flavor, and the noodles were just ok. The second time around, both the broth and noodles were not up to par. We tried the jajjangmyun only during the second visit, and that noodle dish was underwhelming. I think that this stall needs to try to be more consistent with the noodles they serve their customers. Otherwise, the portions are pretty good for the price you pay for them.

Jajjangmyun: — Special for $ 5 on Wednesdays. It’s basically noodles, black bean sauce, and onions. There’s technically meat in there, but not enough to notice when eating. Flavor wise it was ok. The noodles were cooked very well. I don’t think I would order this again. Many people like it, so maybe it’s just not my «thing». The free sides are miso soup, yellow pickled radish, pickled japapenos/carrots, bean sprouts, and kim chi.

I went here on a Sunday night around 7PM and it was quite crowded. My order took forever to be ready. My friend ordered next door from another vendor and I didn’t get my food until he was already halfway finished with his. I ordered the jajjangmyun since I was craving some after trying it out at a Korean restaurant in Jakarta a couple of summers ago. The taste was okay(not bad, not spectacular) but it was enough to satisfy my cravings. Portions wise — it was huge, I couldn’t finish it sadly. Price wise, I think it’s very reasonable. I will probably come back here again during a time when it’s less busy since I want to try out their jjambbong(it was recommended to me by a Korean friend). All in all, it was an okay experience. You should probably try it out when it’s not crowded.

The Tangsuyuk was done well, but I was sad they were out of ddeokbokki. They also serve jjajangmyeon and jjambong.

Taste is decent. Not the best I’ve had, but given that there are no other jjajangmyun options in the area, this will satisfy your craving. Tang-soo-yook — DONOTGET. tasted like cardboard. Perhaps it is because we got their special which came with the tang-soo-yook, but it was not fresh. It was definitely pre-made and had been sitting out for hours. Not so much to do with the food, but one star taken off because of the flies that the food court attracts. You start to loose your appetite if you have to shoo away files with every bite you take.

My go to place when I want Jjambbong! I am obsessed with this stuff. Its so flavorful and the spiciness is just right. Prices are great, really cheap for the quality and quantity of the food. Sometimes the wait is long to get your food, usually that’s on weekends.

Much better jjajangmyun than you’d expect at a food court inside H-Mart. My kids love the fish cake(o-deng) as well. Fairly cheap and fast. Our go-to place to eat inside H-Mart.

I absolutely love their jjambbong. It’s the best thing they have on their menu and you can’t go wrong with ordering this dish. For those of you who can’t take the heat, you may want to opt for something else but for those of you who crave spicy, this is the perfect dish. The broth is super flavorful… it’s rich and creamy and has a wonderfully developed flavor from the seafood. The dish comes with a good portion of squid, mussels and shrimp. The noodles are perfect for this dish as well. Not too thin nor too thick with the right amount of bite to them. I highly recommend this dish to anyone who stops by Hmart for a bite.

Big plate, quite enough for adult. Price is reasonable. But there were 2 bugs like mosquitos in my noodle soup! That was terrible! Big head flies always fly around, annoying. Chairs are dirty. Won’t come back.

So. Good. Relatively fast and good food. The kimchi is also good as a side. The noodles are really soft which shows they’re probably made from scratch. Yum!

Everytime I go to HMart, I always eat here. My love for Korean food was fueled because of their black bean noodles(Ja-jeng myeon) I think thats how its spelled(lol). Anyway, its the best ever. They have Wednesday special where the noodles is just $ 5. Lets talk about the noodles. Its so flavorful. Its not spicy or bland. Coming from Nepali/Indian food background, I need spices in my food. Its my top priority but this noodles is in list of my favorites because it is so rich in flavor. I really recommend this noodles, like really passionately. The onions blend so well with pork, my mouth waters again just writing the review! Do try the noodles after reading my reviews ;)

First time ever trying jambong(spicy seafood noodle soup) and wasn’t impressed. It was ok, not terrible but a bit bland. The only reason why it even tasted like anything was because it was spicy. Food also took awhile to come out. Shouldn’t take longer than 15min for one order of noodles to come out on a Monday. Food also had msg which I’m not a fan of. Won’t be back!

My favorite Korean restaurant in H-Mart. Unfortunately I don’t come here with my daddy, but the boyfriend would do for now. If you are a fan of soup(like me), you have to get the spicy pork bone soup and the spicy chicken soup(daktoritang) here. Both dishes are mm mm lip-lickin good. I would come here over and over again just for these two dishes. The way the potatoes melt in the hot spicy soup… and the way the chicken falls off the bones… I just love it. I’ve also tried their jajangmyeon which is pretty good. It’s actually one of the few places I know that serves it in Houston, and it’s so cheap! $ 5 special on Tuesday for a hot bowl of jajangmyeon!!! Be ware when you come during lunch on the weekends… prepare to spend 15 minutes waiting for a seat! Asians are the meanest group of people when it comes to fighting for our own space. We are like hawks standing around watching and waiting silently with our fierce eyes. The moment a seat opens, somewhere somehow someone takes it in the blink of an eye. SOOO the moral of the story is… don’t come here with a group of 10 on a Saturday/Sunday during lunch time. :)

Went here by recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed! I ordered a jjambbong #10 along with the sweet and sour beef #30 and was extremely satisfied. The soup broth was savory with enough spice to wake you up! The meat in the sweet and sour beef was tender and the outside was crunchy while the sauce brought everything together. Definitely returning again to try some of the other things on the menu. The cashier was really friendly and wasn’t afraid to recommend their best dish!!!

Nestled in the cafeteria area of H-mart, Daddy and Daughter(adorable name) ties with Mandarin Café as my favorite places to get jjambong and jjajangmyun. Jjambong is a spicy noodle dish with an assortment of veggies and seafood. The portions here are generous and if you’re not careful carrying it back to your table, it could spill over the bowl, don’t waste the souuuup! You can also get this in a stir-fried version but I like the soup one better. I would not recommend this dish to anyone who can’t handle any spice or heat cause it even makes me sweat, get the jjajangmyun instead! Depending on how busy/crowded it is, it can take a while to get your food(never longer than 10 minutes) but you can munch on the yellow radishes and kimchi they have available by the counter.
