Really good and really authentic. A friend told me to try this place and I’m glad I did. Good tacos and the tortillas are handmade. The wait in line was surprisingly short and they serve you fast. The girls working behind the counter move quick. I had the lunch plate. Two meats with rice, beans and two tortillas. Drink is not included. Small seating area outside. The only thing I would suggest they do is create a screen around the patio area because of the pesky birds. Priced very well. Must try!

There are two kind of taco places in Houston: hipster tacos such as Velvet or Torchys(which, don’t get me wrong I enjoy when they are good) and Mex-Mex tacos that sometimes even manage to stop my pangs for the sublime street food of Mexico City. Brothers belongs to the latter group. And does very well. This is my first visit. I went for lunch tacos had one puerco with habanero, one carnitas and one lengua on corn with beans. The three are very very good, even better than for instance the immensely popular Laredo, which to me remain Houston standard. Even though the corn tortillas come from a bag(as in most other places), the meats are so good, that it doesn’t really matter. The carnitas are the most standard, and since their salsas are OK but not outstanding, I will leave them of my next visit; their puerco with habanero is much better, for the pork is crispy and the habanero does not overwhelm it, but just compliments it. The lengua is by far the best I’ve had in Houston, much better that both El Gallo de Jalisco of White Oak and even the well loved one at Tierra Caliente(aka Alabama Ice House). This lengua(cow’s tongue) is prepared Veracruz style, with tomato sauce, and cooked for hours on end. Believe me, even if you don’t do offals, try this at least once.

Lots of good food for cheap. The 2 meat taco plate gives you some variety and only $ 8.12. I like the spicy pork, & beef and potatoes the best. Chicken mole is pretty good too. I also recommend getting it with corn tortillas and charro beans. Downsides are not much parking or seating, and not having the different meat/filling options labelled(you pretty much need to point to what looks the best). Line can be long, but moves pretty quick.

Big fan of Brothers Tacos! Sometimes the long line can be very annoying. Especially when the weather is bad or if you’re in a time crunch. With that be said, I am still a frequent customer because they by far have the best tacos in the area.

At 0715 waited in line for about 15 minutes and it was not worth it. The tortillas are not homemade, three isn’t any corn tortillas and the chorizo and egg as I read in one of the reviews that had been«perfected» is far from accurate description of the quality and taste of the good. The customer service is lacking and on the receipt they have a line for a tip?! Huh?!

As far as breakfast tacos go this is going to be your best option in the mid/downtown area. I know several taco places in midtown that serve decent tacos but its something about Brothers Tacos that makes it extra delicious. Somehow they have perfected chorizo and they have a host of other taco options. The little dose of beans that they add(optional) just gives the tacos an extra kick of greatness. Not to mention the tacos are fairly inexpensive.

This will complete my near downtown breakfast taco review series. I think this place is very good but not great. The things I like are: It is open early(5:00 am), it is fast, the place is super safe since it is full of cops, The people working there are very nice, they do a huge business so everything is fresh from frequent turnover. The things that I think could be better by comparison are: The tortillas are very soft but not the grilled texture, this is a pre-made vat type system(helps with speed), the hot sauces are not good. I think this is very good and fast just not one of my top choices only by comparison. None the less, I will be back.

If I had to refer anyone to an authentic mexican taco spot for cheap I’d send them here. Don’t be alarmed by the long lines they really do go quickly. The service was fast and friendly. Its best to take your tacos to go, limited seating on their patio. A must try if you’re downtown, corner of dowling and. Free but limited parking(as you would find in EaDo. I bought two tacos, the breakfast taco was alright but my favorite was this sausage and jalepeno and refried beans. SOGOOD!!!

This is my favorite taco join! This place just never disappoints! This place is consistently delicious, and the tacos are all for a great price. They have all sorts of breakfast tacos as well as plenty of savory ones to choose from if you are not in a breakfast mood. The lengua is one of my favorites, and their mole is pretty tasty. I will almost-always order 3 tacos, but if I am not feeling tacos, I will order a torta sandwich.

First time here. Food was delicious. I had trouble ordering because the options aren’t very clear so my tacos only had meat on them. :/but I would def come back again.

I always see a line at this place and I decided to give this place a second try. I tried this place 20 years ago, I was not impressed then and I’m not now. Bacon and egg taco was pretty good. A good amount of egg, the bacon is not too salty. Not enough beans and if you don’t ask, the tortillas are not left on the griddle long enough to get a good color.(That is an individual preference). It looked like they were getting ready for lunch service while I was there. Lots of choices for plates and tacos. Perhaps I should try their lunch selections. The prices were good and they do a TON of business.(I may be a little biased, since I don’t have to leave my neighborhood to get great tacos)

I mean, who doesn’t like breakfast tacos? Especially cheap, delicious ones? This place is always super busy on the weekends, so be prepared to trudge through a line. You get to pick whatever you want on your tacos, and they are made assembly-line style in front of you. There are predetermined options on the menu board(bacon/egg/cheese, potato/chorizo, etc), but they will make whatever you ask, and charge you accordingly. I found these tacos to be pretty good: hot, tasty, & fresh. The patio/seating area isn’t very big, so be prepared to take a while waiting to sit, or taking your food to go.

These tacos are amazing! A bit pricey. Hence the four stars! But the flavors are divine! Authentic as it gets and you will find variety unlike any other taco shop, truck or restaurant. The lines are long, the cafeteria selection process is enticing, as you will Be sure to buy more than you anticipated too! A must try if you are in the downtown Houston area! Brothers Tacos are on the same level as Titas Tacos in Humble!

Definitely not as good as Alamo Tamale breakfast tacos. These were much smaller, had less filling and pricier. I will give them a star for accepting credit/debit, which is the major drawback about Alamo’s «cash only» policy. And that line moves sooooo slow, geez…

I have been on a search for a while for the best tamales and the best breakfast tacos in EaDo. Judging by the very long line and good reviews about this place I thought I would have found a contender for one of my favorites. The breakfast taco wasn’t bad but the torch he didn’t taste very fresh, and I could see them taking some premade flour tortillas and throwing them on the griddle. Maybe they made the tortillas earlier and are just warming them up but other places make them right before they put the ingredients in. For the same price as a charge for the tacos and tamales get them down the street but with fresh tortillas. And now to the tamales they fall apart as I am unwrapping them and taste kind of dry. I guess I will continue my search elsewhere. Obviously a lot of people like this place judging by the very long line and I do like the fact that they accept credit cards which my favorite place does not. This place also closes hours earlier than my beloved EaDo spot.

Pros: I’m surprised this places is still open! Haven’t eaten here since 2007! From undergrad through my second masters, my BFF and I ate here weekly. Loved it. I liked their tortillas and tacos. I usually got this mixed meat one that had onions and hot links. Cons: 1 out of every 3 times I ordered the double fried pork tacos, I would throw up. Once I had to pull over on the side of I-10 to hurl. I thought it was worth it, but my family begged me to stop eating here. I kinda miss it…

After donating a literal pile of blood down the street this morning I decided two things: [1] I was already pretty white girl wasted on Cinco de Mayo well before noon due to the loss of blood and [2] the rest of the day was #treatYoSelf. Brothers Taco House is conveniently located in EaDo and has earned a sterling reputation from locals long through the years, which merited further gastronomic investigation of the breakfast taco variety. With the million dollar townhouses a block away(that were not there when this was still a rough area«too close to the Bloody Nickel» a decade ago) this place is old school and more in keeping with the traditional look of the area. It’s not super flashy and brand new looking like it belongs in «New Katy» off the Washington strip. The space has character and historical charm in a neighborhood that is very much in transition at the moment. There is a tiny lot fronting Dowling which is probably full at all times, and then there is a large empty lot out back for overflow parking. You get a very nice cityscape from the empty lot at the moment before more construction moves in — so park out there and take in the skyline both coming and going. It’s a popular place so there is always going to be a line. Not just a line, but a line that goes out the front door into the parking lot and onto the sidewalk of the street. I am not a patient person — we all know this. I was not supes thrilled with having to wait in line. But I still sucked it up and did it. The line moves relatively quickly. There were about 15 orders in front of me. But BTH has assembly line service at a pretty quick clip. It was roughly ten minutes — which is ten more than I wanted to wait. I went with the traditional«3B» order: three egg breakfast tacos with beans, one each of the breakfast meats(bacon, sausage, and chorizo.) You want the beans for the texture and the sealant quality on the taco, if not because they are a magical fruit. The ladies behind the counter have battleship formation while one is assembling an order one to her rear swoops in to take the next brother’s order. She confirmed my order before assembling it, so that made me happy. SInce it is one of those old prison cafeteria serving stations you can peer through the glass and watch her assemble the food too. After getting my bag of tacos I shuffled through more of the line to finally hit the register. Just to the right of the register are the salsa cups if you want to grab some. My advice is don’t. This is the worst salsa I have ever had — and I used to live in England. Basically imagine a package of salt, an ugly looking tomato, and no heat — that’s what you get here. Maybe the salsa girl was having an off day, but if someone gave me this at one of those restos you actually sit down at and have a gentlesir waiter, I would send the salsa back, instructing the garçon to throw it in the face of the sous chef with the force and fury of one Janette Desautel. The egg comes pre-mixed with meats in the metal buckets on the serving tray. Just so you know. They don’t slaughter the pig while you wait. They scoop it out and plop it on the tortilla. Bee tee dubs their tortillas are fabulous and I want to buy 30 of them and roll around on them on my bed first, then eat them. They are that good. The worst breakfast taco here is the bacon. Sorry bacon, I still love u. The bacon breakfast taco here contains oddly shaped clumps of bacon. The bacon is as plain as possible with no flavor besides it being heavily salted. This was a grievous bacon offense. I am glad I ordered a spread of breakfast meats because if I got 3x bacon I would be crying on the floor more than normal right now. Not even Taco Cabana would do this to a bacon breakfast taco. The best thing about the bacon taco is that there wasn’t much«bacon» in it so the beans, egg, and fabulous tortilla still tried to rehabilitate the taco. The sausage breakfast taco is immensely better. The sausage is flavorful without being overbearing, and more traditional in shape, texture, and appearance in breakfast tacos that make you happy rather than mad/sad like the bacon we just jawed about. But the real standout America’s Next Top Breakfast Taco is the chorizo. Gat dang, that is one deliciously flavorful breakfast taco. It was so much better than Chacho’s on the first bite I needed a hooker to slap me in the face and spit on me more than usual — but alas, the Ramada Inn out by the airport was too far away to arrange that on such short notice — so I just finished my delicious breakfast taco feeling like I had genuinely reached the nirvana of #treatYoSelf this morning. If you only order the 3B you will get change back from $ 6 so it is hard to complain about the price. These tacos are stuffed way more full than Taco Cabana, so it’s a lot of food for cheap, and most of it quite good. The salsa and bacon obviate the fifth star. But stick to chorizo, bring your own salsa, and you are in business baby.

I stopped here for lunch when I was downtown for a conference and trying desperately to escape the terrible hotel/conference food. Best decision of the week! I had a chicken taco and a mole taco, and both of them were awesome. The homemade tortillas might have been my favorite part of the meal. Service was fast and friendly, and I think I paid less than five dollars to fill my belly. Even the clientele were friendly… I asked some regulars for a recommendation, and everyone was happy to offer some up. I would definitely go back and wish I could right now.

I hardly ever in the downtown area anymore so any chance I stop by Brothers Tacos to get me some homemade tacos. If you’re not Mexican you may not like all of the selections they have. I’m fortunate enough to be Mexican so I can easily identify what’s good and what’s not. If you like chiles rellenos and if you like tacos, you’ll love their chile relleno tacos. I usually get mine with rice and beans in a flour tortilla. You can’t go wrong with the Asado tacos either. The only place to eat is outside so I’d recommend you take your tacos to go. Unless you want to eat in front of a bunch of hungry birds with their beaks open waiting for someone to accidentally drop food. Parking can be a bit hectic but since so many people get their tacos to go, you shouldn’t have to wait too long for a space.

The best breakfast tacos in Houston! There is a line every morning so be prepared to wait about 5 – 8 minutes. It moves pretty quick. You can find parking in the back or the front, but watch out for potholes. I always get the pico dillo taco. It’s ground beef cooked with chopped onions. It’s REALLY good. They fill the taco to the max. Their flour tacos are amazing. While you order you can see them making it from scratch. Prices are very cheap and affordable. The green sauce is limey and not too hot. The red sauce is pretty hot. When I bring Brothers Tacos to the office everyone loves them! I highly recommend this place if you are craving breakfast tacos.
