Nice place to go and good hookah really they have after hours part in Saturday night with dj

When we arrived, we wanted to sit outside but nobody came out. The server outside was sitting with his friends who were also there, so he offered them cake and service, but not us. Then we had to go inside ourselves to order, and they did not seem happy to get our order. Afterwards, the servers friends got their cake and their hookah, but after 20 minutes we only got our tea. Never going here again nor their parent location further down Richmond.

This place used to be great — until recently.
What was my go-​to place for lunchtime hookah, has now gone to Sh**ts. Bad bad bad service.
During my most recent visit, after ordering my hookah, the waiter disappeared without bringing my coal. I waited for someone to come out from the back so that I can ask for coal, but more than ten minutes passed before someone came out. No one even bothered to come by and take my order for food. Music was extremely loud, which was pointless for a place that was practically empty.
The ambiance of this place used to be really nice. It was a nice quiet hookah place I had loved to visit frequently. But now the music is blaring everytime I go there, I can barely hold a conversation with my friends.
I heard there was new management.
Dear New Management,
If you are reading this, please take heed of this review and please fix the problems ASAP. Until then, my friends and I won’t be coming back.

The place looks really nice on the inside /​outside area, was kind of hard to find cause of it being on the corner in the back not good lighting to differ where it’s at. But the food is really great, authentic & fresh ! I also got hookah as well, I really enjoyed it, really smooth and great to smoke ! Definitely will return here !

The new renovations are absolutely spectacular! I’ve been to this place three times already and I can’t seem to get enough!
The owner is so hands on… He likes to make sure all his customers are comfortable and enjoying their time. It’s such a «homie feeling» environment.
The waiters are so nice and quick. I didn’t wait long at all for my food. You can tell a lot about a Mediterranean place by its hummos… And let me say I have never tasted such amazing hummos!!!
The place is clean and so are the bathrooms, which is a huge concerns of mine!

This used to be Café Layal. I came after a friend raved about the new owners, décor, food, and staff. Being that I am always on the prowl for a closer hookah place that serves good food and won’t cost an arm and a leg I decided to swing by for lunch.
First off the ambiance was really nice. Lots of spacious modern seating. Plenty of big TVs so you can catch a game. Not overly smokey like other places that have indoor hookah.
The food was surprisingly good. That was my biggest problem with Café Layal. Mediocre food. But this new place was so delicious. I ordered a chicken shwarmah. It was not filled with dry, shaved chicken like Fadi’s or Phoenicia’s but tender, well seasoned pieces of chicken. The sandwich was a good size and came with a healthy portion of crispy seasoned fries. It was only $ 6.99 too.
The shisha was really good. We got an orange head for $ 14.99 but it was 25% off because it was happy hour. They don’t use cheap instalight charcoal like the previous owners, thankfully so.
I hear there is live music on the weekends too.
All in all, I am pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this new Layal. I look forward to coming again.
My only qualm was that their iced tea isn’t fresh brewed ice tea. This is the south and Texans love their iced tea. The fresh, real stuff not the pre-​made drink. I don’t know why these hookah places don’t get that. Arab tea is so tasty too.
