Russo’s New York Pizzeria

We tried this place when leaving the medical center area. Great selection of pizzas, salads, pastas. We tried for Chicken Rustica Pizza which was good and flavorful, and a large Mediterranean salad which is plenty to share.
We had great service while there. The waitress was friendly, quick to seat and help us, and checked in on us just the right amount.

Great pizza, had the meat lovers pizza and was very light and fresh. I like pizza that doesn’t have too much grease, because it takes away from the flavor. The chicken wings were good as well. I would recommend anyone around the med center to check it out!

Went to try to cheer ourselves up after an awful Texans loss with some pizza. Unilocal was able to point us to this Russo’s right outside NRG Stadium. It was super convenient to go there and wait for the traffic to die down.
We were excited to see that this Russo’s had halal options, I believe the only one in Houston! For halal eaters, this was a big deal. My wife and I could finally order meat on our pizza instead of boring cheese or Veggie.
We dined-​in and the waitress was very friendly. We were given garlic bread and olive oil on the house. They had a freestyle coke machine which is always a plus.
We ordered a large half Buffalo Chicken and half Beef/​Jalapeño, all halal, as well as on order of wings lemon pepper and buffalo. Our food came out promptly, much faster than other Russo’s I’ve been to. The food was delicious, they did not skimp out on the toppings. We did not even have any leftovers at the end of our meal.
We will definitely be coming back here again from Sugar Land to enjoy great pizza and wings. A big thanks to the owners for having halal options to accommodate the diverse Houston foodies.

Ate here in a large group so got a chance to sample many dishes and a couple of different Pizza flavor. Really enjoyed the food. Service was great for such a large group

Been here a couple of times during lunch and order dinner from this location often. Pizza is always delicious and never lacks in quality. Staff is courteous and friendly. Owner is usually at the location and loves to check up on his customers and create small talk. Highly recommend Russo’s to all Unilocal followers.

Waited over an hour for my pizza to be delivered. Called about it and was told that when you order online it takes them approximately 20 extra minutes to even RECEIVE the order; something about a fax machine. In 2015, who is still using a fax machine for their orders? Apparently Russo’s.
After such a long wait, I was eager to get to my half-​pepperoni, half-​jalapeño pizza and my girlfriend was excited to finally eat her buffalo mozzarella salad with roma tomatoes. Unfortunately, none of those things came to our door. My pizza was full pepperoni and full jalapeño, and my girlfriend’s «salad» was little more than a bowl of rotten lettuce. No cheese. No roma tomatoes. No dressing. Oddly enough it had some ONIONS and olives in it, neither of which are in the description. This bowl of rotten lettuce, onions, and olives costed us $ 11.
Excruciatingly slow, absolutely disgusting, and to top it all off, pedantically overpriced.

Had an evening dinner here with friends from out of town. Nice, quiet, clean spot. Garlic knots are deliciously seasoned and meat lovers pizza is definitely worth coming back for. My husband and I only eat halal meat, and the owner serves it (by request)! We will certainly be adding this to our rotation.

Ordered Russo’s delivered for a lazy Sunday movie night in. Boyfriend had a calzone, which he devoured. I had a bowl of the tomato basil soup and a kid’s slice of pizza. The slice of cheese was eh, but the soup was pretty good. Overall, it’s a good place for pizza takeout, if you don’t want to try your usual place.

Wasn’t sure because it’s in a strip mall but was recommended by our hotel and so happy we came. Pizza is out of this world amazing New York Village, so fresh! And service is top notch, social service, recommendations on where to go from here (in town for Patriots game!!) Absolutely try this place!

Not the best pizza ever, but it was a pleasant surprise for me. Maybe my expectations were extra low.

Their pizza is made to order, the service is great. All though they are sort staff, their food never let me down. Food is very affordable. I always get a giant slice and I can never finish it all. That’s how huge the slices are. (Maybe 3slices put together.) This is my all time favorite pizza restaurant to go to when I’m in the area!

For a chain restaurant it’s not a bad place for pizza. I typically come here after a playing Ultimate with a couple of my friends. The staff is very friendly, they greet you immediately when you walk in and readily meet your every need. I’m surprised that there’s not a lot of people eating here whenever we come but it’s probably because we come at such odd hours. Regardless, the food is always really fresh and the quality is good for the price you pay! They have a Coca-​Cola soda fountain that dispenses all of the drinks you can imagine. Overall I would rate this place the following.

Great service and terrific food. Baskets of flat bread with olive oil start your meal. We continued with delicious garlic knots (not too garlicky or oily) and a house salad. The lasagna was good a little watery on the sauce. Pizza was tasty with a crispy crust and not oily at all. Make sure you leave room for dessert.

Went there on a Monday night. Not a single person was eating inside at 6:30 or so but did see a few pick ups. They had a special one topping large for pick up only so ordered that.
When I was about to sign the recipes it was for a 24 dollar buffalo chicken pizza so the manager came. Next receipt was for a full price buffalo mozzarella pizza so the third time they gave me the special correct price. Mistakes happen but having your credit card have three quick transactions can be problematic.
Pizza was decent. Not the best by any means but better than a dominos. I could not distinguish where the mozzarella was which is strange (see pic). Crust was quite good but sauce was too sweet and not special.
Service. Despite the problems was very friendly.

Two hour delivery… cold pizza… breaded soggy wings… not happy person all of the pizzas are CHEESE pizzas and thy simply add whatever ingredients on the top depending on what you order. Ummmmmm that’s not right lol so none of the toppings are cooked WITH the actual pizza. It’s weird

I came here on my lunch break. I ordered the giant slice and salad for $ 7.95, I believe. It was on the lunch menu.
First, my server was nice but didn’t listen to what I ordered. I told her I wanted a Ceasar Salad but she brought a house salad, so she had to take it back.
Second, for my pizza, I requested mushrooms, bacon, olives and pineapples. But when my pizza came, it had chicken.
I ended up picking the chicken off because I couldn’t wait for another pizza to be made since I was on lunch break.
The pizza and salad was good just my server wasn’t. Sorry but not sorry.
Btw, she ended up giving me a dollar something discount.

Pizza crust was thin, crispy and perfect. Loved the meatballs on my pizza. And the sweet chili wings were redonculous. So big and crispy with an awesome sauce.
Service was excellent. Clean atmosphere.

Russo’s is definitely a spin on franchise pizza restaurant compared to Domino’s/ Pizza Hut/​and Papa John’s by offering exclusive «New York Style Pizza».
Our Greek Pizza was BIG on flavor. The added anchovies we a great addition to the pizza.
The pizza as a whole was bit soggy and lacked the crispiness I look for in NY style pizza.
The wings didn’t have much BBQ sauce, but still good.
The online ordering system may have a glitch because it didn’t specify exactly when the pizza would be ready.
Overall a good alternative to the mainstream pizza spots.

Quite the surprise! We ordered delivery of 2 different calzones. One was their design and one we dreamed up. Both were delicious but I preferred their design. Delivery was faster than anticipated and the calzones were hot. Good job folks!
