Taqueria El Rojo Loco

I was there few days ago along my family, the food was great with the authentic Mexican taste, service was even better, very nice people. I will come back whenever I visit Houston again.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. I have been eating here since they opened, and have a genuine fondness for the family that owns it. They’re always warm and friendly, take pride in their service, and are a real part of my neighborhood.

Im giving 4 stars because of the friendliness of everyone here.
I have been coming to this Taqueria for close to 5 years now. The food is made to order, and is always fresh.
The chips are good, and the salsa is spicy. I like the fajita meat nachos but instead of chips they use french fries, instant fatness!
The hamburgesa (mexican hamburger) is great as well! But today im ordering 4 barbacoa tacos and chasing it down with a freshly made lemonaide.
This restaurant is located in a rough part of town, but the food is worth it!

Although the outside of this restaurant looks a little unpolished its a nice little hidden jewel. I’ve lived in this neighborhood all my life and have waited for a Mexican restaurant to pop up. When I went I ordered ham and egg and potatoes and egg breakfast tacos. They were decent sized tacos and tasted pretty good. I wouldn’t mind coming back here another time.

I was craving breakfast tacos so I stopped by. On the wall they have a dry erase board with the prices on it. When I received my tacos I was charged more than the price advertised. I paid what the casher told me the incorrect amount was, but when she gave me the change back it was incorrect! I am not going back.

Honestly it looked a bit sketchy on the outside. There was not much else in the surrounding area, and most of the shops in the area had bars on the windows. It was definitely a hole in the wall type of spot. No need to charge a premium to cover the rent. They just dished out solid home cooked meals.
I got the Mexican style steak plate. I am not sure what made it «Mexican,» but it was pretty good. The steak was cooked pretty well. It wasn’t too tough and didn’t take me forever to chew. They included plenty of bell peppers and onions to satisfy my veggie portion of the meal. The salsa, rice, and beans were just average. It wasn’t fancy, and I wasn’t expecting that either. It was just a solid meal for about $ 8.
