Full disclosure: This review is based solely on my experience at the bar. High Velocity was the perfect place to stop in for a drink before heading out to sit in the sun and watch an Indians game. I ordered the spicy bloody mary and it was wonderful – spicy, well-garnished, and flavorful. If you can’t handle heat, I’d definitely recommend the traditional bloody mary. The bloody marys were $ 10 each, which is on the upper side of average in Indy. Even though the bar was pretty busy, the bartender was quick and attentive. I have no doubt that I’ll be back to High Velocity for another pre-baseball game drink in the future.

In Indianapolis over night for early flights tomorrow. The restaurant gave us a friendly greeting great food and service. I hope you get Joe as your server. He’s a caring and conscientious server.

This was a fantastic restaurant. I have had three sandwiches here including the salmon BLT, the pork tenderloin, and the Ruben. I have to say that these are three of the best sandwiches that I have ever had. They are by far better than any other sports bar I have been too. I highly recommend it. Joe, our server, was polite, quick and not annoying. He did a great job!

Another over-hyped downtown bar. Cant get into this place with 4 and 5 year olds playing next to our booth. The flat screens are nice thats about it. The food was ok. Nice bar if youre staying in the JW Marriot, but I wouldnt seek the place out to go to it.

Just had a great lunch at High Velocity, Indy. The salmon BLT was great and the fish done perfectly. My wife had the Mediterranean salad and was equally pleased. Jacob, our waiter, was amazing.

I stop and eat here when I stay at the JW Marriott and this will be my 4th time here. We decided to stop here for late night bites after being on the road. We sat in the restaurant area as we had a couple of little ones with us. The area is surrounded by tvs. We had a TV at our table that we could contol. My husband liked that. Now for the food: My husband had the chicken quesadillas. He said that they were just ok. They put beans in them and he says he now knows why restaurants don’t put beans in quesadillas. It just doesn’t work. I had the chili crock. It had really good flavor, my only gripe is that they overcooked the meat. My nephew and daughter had the hot dogs. They seemed to enjoy them because they ate them all. They’re the type of kids to speak up when they don’t like something. The hostess and our server were extremely nice. Overall, I’m giving it 4 stars because like I said, I have been there before. The other times the food was really good and it seems that they train the staff to match the service of the hotel.

I came to this place expecting an experience similar to Buffalo Wild Wings. I was incredibly surprised to find a far more pleasurable experience. The salmon was perfectly cooked with attention to detail and preference.

Very quiet sports bar(we went in on a rainy afternoon). I had the salmon BLT without the B. It was very good. My husband had a regular cheeseburger(pretzel bun). Portions are large, so we did not save room for dessert. Maybe next time.

I wanted something small so the hostess recommended the fish tacos-they were fabulous. Pretty good service, no complaints. Considering its in the JW Marriott, $ 15 for 3 Mahi Mahi tacos not bad at all. See you next time I’m in Indy!

Stopped in here before a concert at White River. Despite GenCon going on and it being crowded, we were seated very quickly. Server was nice. We ordered fish tacos and they were some of the best I’ve had. Huge pieces of mahi mahi and clearly very fresh. We also got some slider burgers to share and the flavor was amazing! You could tell nothing here was frozen and used great ingredients. The prices weren’t too bad at all for being inside a 5-star hotel and there is ample seating for large parties. The location is within walking distance to Victory Field, Convention Center, and White River state park as well as many other downtown attractions.

My sister and dined at High Velocity before the Indian’s game last night. Even though there were 3 other major events going on that night, the service was quite speedy. We sat at the bar and all of the bartenders were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed seeing them work together to please their guests at the bar. My sister ordered the cheese fries and I ordered the cheeseburgers. Both had large portions and were filling. My sister commented that the fries had a little TOO much cheese on them but the other toppings were sufficient. The cheeseburgers were nothing special– could have offered a special sauce to go on top. They honestly tasted like the soy burgers you were fed in Elementary school and were very dry. The fries on the other hand were great! Other all our experience was pleasant and the managers made sure we were happy. I believe when a manager takes time to come around a greet you and ask how your meal is going make the experience worth while.

I had a lot of unhealthy food eaten the week I was there, so I ordered my favorite food when I want to eat healthy, Cobb salad, now you can’t go wrong preparing that dish. When my friends and I get there, it was almost 12:30am on a Saturday morning. We waited for about 10 minutes and still has no service, so I asked the host to find out who and where our server was at. Moments later, the server came and took our drink order. I ordered a draft beer which it was cheap compare to other place charges. After rest of my friends showed up, we were chatting and the food didn’t come out at all until 15 minutes after the order was taken. Which we were surprised because it wasn’t busy after all since they are closing up soon. Everyone’s order was all correct but mine is missing one item, the sauce for the salad so I asked the server to see if I can get some sauce as my salad was tasted dry. Then the night supervisor stopped by and apologized about the food not having any sauce on it and she will take care of my bill, I was like okay, sure. By the time we are ready to pay our bills, I noticed that my bill still has no salad listed on there and I asked to speak to another manager and the other manager took care of all my charges, alcohol included, and I was very surprised to see that as most of the places will only comped your food and not your alcoholic drinks. I still leave a good tip for the server as it’s not her fault that my salad didn’t come with sauces. My experience here was great. First time visiting this hotel and first time eating here after the Indians baseball game in the raining weather. I didn’t expect them to take care of all my bill, but they did what they think it was the right thing to do and I would definitely recommend anyone that will be visiting Downtown Indianapolis to visit them. A great shout out to the whole staff and managements.

I ate here 3 times while in town for a show. The location is great, the food isn’t spectacular, but it is good. The prices aren’t astronomical which can be a challenge near convention centers. When you are on the road for a week for a trade show, those are the most important things in my book. Convenient? Yep. Good food? Yep. Crazy expensive? Nope.

This is one of the best sports bars in Indy. Great food– can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers. TVs can be viewed from any seat in the house. It is a little on the pricey side, but the high quality experience is worth it!

Never let it be said that you can’t find something to eat in the late morning/early afternoon on Christmas Eve in downtown Indianapolis. However, it’s difficult if you’re looking for something other than fast food. Thankfully, the wife and I were staying at the JW Marriott and rather than venture out into the cold, wet weather, we opted for High Velocity, the sports bar on the property. High Velocity is a tasteful, modern, cavernous, and somewhat generic space with plenty of HD flat panels for watching sports. Given it was a Wednesday afternoon; they might as well have left them turned off. High Velocity’s menu was fairly standard bar fare. Keeping it Hoosier real, I ordered the Pork Tenderloin sandwich($ 13), which was topped with lettuce, tomato, and raw onion, jalapeño coleslaw, and poblano mayo on a brioche bun. It also came with fries, and a pickle. If Philadelphia has its cheese steak, Indy has its fried pork tenderloin. The sandwich was definitely Hoosier-sized as the pork tenderloin was pounded into a thin, almost Frisbee-sized disc, then breaded, deep-fried, and placed between the brioche bun with the meat extending far beyond its reaches. For what it was, the sandwich was perfectly fried, appropriately seasoned, and nicely crispy without the pork becoming rubbery or jerky-like. It was a tasty, generous sandwich and with the fries, left me quite satisfied. That said, I’m sure the same sandwich could be had for much less elsewhere in the local area, but we were paying for the convenience of it being in the hotel sports bar. If there was any downside to our meal, service was a bit inattentive, but I attribute that more to the fact that the staff was eager to get off shift early since it was Christmas Eve. High Velocity is what it is. It’s not a destination bar or restaurant. As sports bars go, there are plenty of others in the downtown area that offer much more personality and excitement. As restaurants go, there are others that offer more bang for the buck. However, when your choices are limited or your lacking motivation to leave the hotel, High Velocity does the trick.

My recommendation is to not eat here. SERVICE: The service is terrible. TERRIBLE. We almost left before ordering because between the greeter’s attitude and our server being super pushy, the visit was off to the wrong foot. The server took forever to bring out drinks and then the drink was wrong and he insisted it was not so we just had the drink we did not order. It was not good. It was very strong though, if you want something strong. After getting the wrong drink he asked us about ten times if we wanted to order more drinks. He didn’t ask to refill our water or about the food or anything, and seemed completely comfortable trying to convince us to order different food than we desired. Fifteen minutes into this visit I regretted not leaving the moment i met our server. The food order was already in though so we couldn’t leave. To be fair I was scoping out tables with other servers and they seemed to be having a great experience. FOOD: We came to try the Devour menu out. The food was mediocre. I ordered a steak salad and my boyfriend ordered shrimp Mac and cheese. We had some Asian honey wings for an appetizer. We wanted the hot wings but our server was very pushy about how these were better and kind of wouldn’t take our order sooooo we just got the wings. The wings were wings; the dipping sauce that came on the side was really gross though the sauce on the wings was good. The Mac and cheese was good but the shrimp was way over battered, more batter than shrimp. I hated the steak salad. It was bland and wilty. Eating it made me kind of feel angry. The dressing was horrible. We were brought a smores brownie for dessert. It’s a brownie. No brownie on earth is worth the crappy service and mediocre food we experienced today. The vanilla ice cream was really low quality and the chocolate sauce was chunky. I was overwhelmingly disappointed with this entire experience and we will not be returning.

This was our back up restaurant because the other restaurant, Osteria Pronto was closed for construction work. Management proactively called us two weeks in advance and also offered us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. We were a party of 8 that arrived at 9:00 and were immediately taken to our table. It was a round configuration that made it easy for every to participate in the conversation. Wait staff was very attentive and continued to check on us through out the night, but not over bearing. Beer and wine selection was good… with a strong focus on local craft beers. Chicken wing appetizer was spicy, portion size to share for three to four. Portion size of the entrées were very large-enough to share-especially the burgers! Fish tacos were okay-just a bit dry-could have used more sauce. 3 stars for food 4 stars for staff/management-as we forgot to obtain our validation parking ticket and paid $ 22.00 for 1.5 hours. After talking to the general manager the next day-we were kindly and promptly given a refund. Don’t forget to get your parking validated if you park in the garage!

Stopped in Friday night before heading to dinner at Osteria Pronto. They had several beer specials so that worked out great for us. There was 3 bartender that were very helpful and friendly. The food menu looked wonderful. We will go back for dinner. Can’t wait to go back.
