Who doesn’t love The Burnt Truck? This is the OC original Gourmet Slider Truck and the standard set to all Burger Trucks in OC, LA and SD as they have been churning out the American street fare since the beginning of the scene’s existence. I can’t think of another truck that would dare trying sloppy joes, fried chicken, beef dips, cheese steaks, and meatloaf between buns usually hitting a home run. In the event that you have never tried The Burnt Truck before, The Fried Chicken Slider is their stone cold lock. Buttermilk fried chicken, garlic potato spread and country gravy come together in a symphony of flavor in what may be my favorite recipe for food truck sliders. If it sounds like it wouldn’t work, trust… it does. Mated with Tater Tots, this is one hell of a lunchtime treat. Another of my personal favorites is the Cheeseburger. A no-nonsense Burger consisting of Angus beef, American cheese, grilled onions and in a nod to California(the sadly ubiquitous) avocado spread. These sliders are outrageously good. Other standouts include the(cliché at this point) Korean BBQ Burger(you will be shocked to find it has Short Rib on it) and the aforementioned Beef Dip. Many swear by the PB&J Burger, but I really didn’t feel it. I am not keen on the whole super sweet Jam on a burger fad that Slater’s seemingly turned into an OC rage. With so many other wonderful offerings this is hardly a problem. The food is very good, that is no question. That flavor combinations are getting a bit long in the tooth and I would love for The Burnt Truck to bring about the next«it» slider. That said, if The Burnt Truck is in the area, you are nuts to not seek them out. An OC classic.

My favorite food truck. I wish they still came to my apartment complex! Nothing better than a fried chicken and mashed potatoes slider. So good. We have tried everything on the menu but those are our favorite. Can’t wait to try Burntzilla.

My sister and I love this truck! They’re sliders are so tasty and unique. My favorite is the shredded beef slider, which was so flavorful and delish. I also love the fried chicken slider with mashed potato spread. Yumm. My sister loves the fried mozzarella with fig jam slider. Always really friendly guys there to take your order and comes out relatively quickly despite everything being freshly made. Keep up the good food!

We had some great food tonight! The fried chicken was super light and crispy. I tried the bacon gravy fries and they were delicious. The staff was really nice and they treated us to free peanut butter and banana sliders for dessert. Overall the perfect meal for a fun night out with my friends.

Sliders! I went to Total Wines & More and found a bunch of lunch trucks in the parking lot. There was at least a hundred folks out there, obviously repeat customers because they brought their own chairs and tables. One had a TV and a blow up couch. I picked The Burnt Truck because it had the longest line and wanted to see what the hype was all about. I went for the combo which was two sliders, tater tots, and a drink for eight bucks. For the sliders I picked the cheeseburger and fried chicken. Both were very good and the service was great. Nice experience and if I ever ran into them again I would give them another try.

The Brunt Truck goes all around the Orange County areas and this time I found it in Irvine near UCI. I ordered three sliders: The cheeseburger, fried chicken, and Peanut Butter and Jelly with Bananas. My bf ordered the same except he replaced the PBJ with a Vegetarian slider(deep fried mozzarella with some sweet tomato paste). The cheeseburger slider is good. It all comes on sweet Hawaiian bread and their green(lime?) aioli tasted great too. I can tell the the meat may have some asian flavors fused into it, but it was definitely my favorite slider overall. The fried chicken was well made too. The chicken was soft and tender, not too try. There was a layer of gravy and a layer of mashed potatoes on the slider too. Yummy. The PBJ was good but I could have gone without it. The peanut butter itself is creamy and crunchy and tasted really good. So did the jelly, but it was an odd flavor when you put it all together with the bananas and the sweet Hawaiian bread. I think the sweetness of the bread didn’t go with the flavors. Each item by itself is good. The Vegetarian slider was okay but I could’ve gone without it too. The mozzarella was a little cold and the tomato paste was overly sweet, once again, adding to the already sweet bread. I guess I was expecting something more savory. If I see this truck again I wouldn’t mind stopping by for the cheeseburger slider again, overall my favorite! Oh, and did I mention there are tater tots on the side? Who can resist that?

Fried Chicken slider was ok. It had mashed potatoes in it with cheese, kind of reminded me of something from KFC. Beef slider was not good. The meat tasted weird and only one bite was taken out of it. The French fries were obviously from a bag and had been thawed out. Not good. Definitely not recommending this one, sorry guys.

Damn I love this truck and they always end up outside our front door… if you get a chance grab either the Vietnamese sliders with cilantro or the fried chicken sliders with mash potato spread… sweet hot damn they tasted great!

Minh was awesome in helping me set up a fundraiser at our school in Fountain Valley. They were early to get ready, and were more than capable of handing the consistent lines of hungry parents and kids. Everyone left with a smile. They JAMMED through a busy crowd like nobody’s business. All this, AND they donated 10% back to our school! Looks like we’ll have a regular Food Truck night Courreges! Thanks Minh! xoxo

I think the chef’s special today was their Carne Asada Fries, and judging by my coworker’s response, and my sliders, they should keep them as a staple! Ordered a meatloaf slider, fries, and then asked the guy if he could make me a Carne Asada slider. He advised me that it was chopped meat, so it may fall out, but I didn’t care. I was on a Carne Asada mission or bust. Low and behold, the lead chef either heard my desperation or was in a great mood — they made me one! Sooo gooood. Guacamole on top, and then asada on the bottom. Toasted hawaiian rolls. My meatloaf slider was equally delicious, but white people style. The meatloaf is definitely juicy, so don’t expect dry or solid. It will drip. And you will love it. My coworker inhaled her carne asada fries. The regular fries are regular fries, but they didn’t screw them up, and there was enough salt, so I can’t complain they weren’t super duper gourmet. You get a napkin with your sliders, so you’re all set to go, and it’s ready in about two minutes. Maybe less. All about efficiency and I think they may be trying to get it out super fast so you’ll come back. I’m not going to lie, I contemplated going back to the truck for a different slider.

I’d have to say… I absolutely LOVE the Burnt Truck! Their sliders are always exceptional, and the gal taking my order is always nice to us, even knows our name(that goes with saying, I’m quite the regular on Sundays). The only reason why I didn’t add another star was the service we got last night. My boyfriend sent a Facebook request a few weeks ago asking for them to make a meatloaf slider. After receiving a message from them saying that they made it and it’s on the menu, we were soooooo excited! So we go to their normal Sunday Spot near the Irvine Spectrum, waited in line, only to have the cook behind the lady taking our order that there is no more meatloaf! Turns out they were in the middle of cooking it and she told us to return in 15 minutes, which we were willing to wait 30 if that was the case. Just the fact that the cook yelled«NO» to the lady taking our order diminished our enthusiasm for a slider that we were looking forward to eating for 3 days. Very unimpressed with the way the cook handled the situation. But! This review has a good ending! The meatloaf slider was absolutely AMAZING! Piping hot and covered in the BT Ketchup Glaze with crunchy onions on top surrounded in the classic Hawaiian roll. Definitely Burnt Truck quality of a classic homemade favorite. If you are sitting in line contemplating whether or not a meatloaf slider is going to be as amazing as the other menu items, well… ITIS!!!

Burned by the Burnt Truck. Sick all night and the next day too. Sad thing was, so were a couple other people that ate with me. Bummer. Nobody likes Montezuma, especially when he’s an hourly visitor.
