B & G Air Conditioning and Heating

These guys are very expensive. Called them to install a float switch in the AC drain pan. Got a quote of 300 dollars. I got it installed for 95 dollars from another local company. I would recommend calling other companies in the area for comparison shopping before going with this company.

Our AC went out on a Friday evening and we called. They sent out Robert and he established that the Fan Motor was out and said he would be back in the morning and replace. He returned and replaced the motor and then presented me with a bill for $ 735.00. YIKES! I thought that was a bit much. I asked Robert what the break down was for the cost of the motor and the cost of the labor and he said he couldn’t do that. So I paid the bill and then called the company. I asked the person on the phone about the cost breakdown and she asked her boss. Came back and said her boss wouldn’t tell her, but it was really expensive. Really? Researching on the internet and calling my brother who owns his own AC Company, but in another state, saw that the motor would cost no more than $ 300.00 regardless of where you bought it and the total job should cost no more than $ 450.00, $ 500.00 tops. Depending on the mark up. Guess they mark up quite a bit.
I will never use this company again, and I would definitely not recommend them to anyone. Not because of the prices, but because of the fact that they refused to tell me what they are charging for what. It is my hard earned money and I deserve to know what I am spending it on.
