This was my first time at Freebirds. I had the nachos! They were delicious! I don’t like melted cheese quest sauce so I had the chicken, cilantro rice, black beans, sautéed vegetables, shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack, pico de gallo, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. They sprinkled some lime juice on it as well and offer fresh lime and lemon wedges at the sauce area. The staff was friendly and worked quickly and courteously. The portions were generous! I recommend this location and am excited to try all the different entrees they offer.

Decided to give freebirds another try. Got a little tied of their menu changes and politics so stopped going. It was pretty good but the portions keep getting smaller. Bullritos and unerburrito are better choices.

I love this Freebirds location in Katy! The manager today at lunch(March 4, 2016) was super nice. He could see I couldn’t decide between the Vegan Tempeh and the Vegan Guacamole bowl, so he gave me both and thanked me for being a return customer! The entire crew here is always friendly and food is always fresh. I love that there are vegan options here! Come in and try Freebirds, if you haven’t already — you’ll enjoy it and they make everyone feel welcome!

Very amazing service as well as freshest food in the industry in chain restaurants. So much awesomeness to choose from. I wish you guys had locations in New Orleans or close to New Orleans. You guys would blow all of the tex mex places out of the water. I love Freebirds…

As a FIRSTTIME eater(ever!) at FreeBird’s, I was disappointed NOT by the nachos, but one of the Staff Members. He was a young African American man… When entering the restaurant as a first timer, I was NOT greeted which as someone who has worked in restaurant hospitality and customer service for 6 years and counting knows that«Greeting» is the up most important… It sets the first impression with a positive start. I asked for nachos. I was unaware how the system worked. I was familiar with Bullritos and Chipotle because they were self explanatory with their check list menu, I also like to treat competing restaurants without comparing them to their rivals; however, Freebird’s differed, so I took it upon myself rather depend on the employee who should have offered direction regardless. I asked, «I would like nachos». When approaching the service bar, the employee had a «I am tired and hate this job look on his face.» His expression and body language spoke«OBLIGATION to Serve» rather than«Service with Sincerity» as I say when I work and train… I am aware that we all have our rough days, but as a staff member who is closest to the door should be competent enough to comprehend that THEYARETHEGREETER! THEFIRSTFACE! THEIMPRESSION! From there, he continued to have a smug look… NOEYE Contact. NOSMILE… When I asked for Queso on the pile of chips, he literally put a small ladle of queso that clearly proved to be a selfish amount… I asked for more… he, in such an obligated manner put more… I asked for more because it was obvious that it lacked the greatest incentive… The price was fair. really fair.Nachos were yummy; but the attitude sucked!!!

I use to be a big fan of Freebirds. This location has changed that. I asked for nachos to go, with the cheese on the side, so that I don’t end up with sad, cold, lumpy cheese by the time I get home. I was told this was not possible at this location. Every other time Ive ordered nachos at any other location, this is never a problem and actually kindly suggested by the person making the nachos. Since the employees feel it is too much effort to pour cheese into a togo container, I will get my tex-mex fix from Chipotle from now on. There is no excuse for bad service.

Ok, so normally I don’t have much to say about a restaurant like this because since it’s a chain all the food is pretty much the same at all the locations. We know the food was good. But can I tell you about the impeccable(and I don’t use that word) customer service. Everyone was very nice, had great communication and did everything with a smile. I enjoyed my experience so much after I got my food to go i decided to stay but hadn’t gotten a drink. As soon as one of the waiters passed by he immediately offered me water. Just a kind & thoughtful staff.

It’s delicious, tasty, filling and scrumptious!!! Every time I’ve gone here, Freebirds has never disappointed me!!! I always order the Hybird(the smallest sized burrito) and let me tell you, for an athlete, it can fill me up for hours and hours! 4 tortilla options, 2 different rices to choose from and so many endless possibilities for filling the burrito to the brim allows for any customer to create the most individualistic burrito ever! No burrito is created the same! The guac and hot queso may be extra but it’s worth it every time!!! And you can never go wrong with a mountain side order of crunchy chips! If I’m ever in the mood, and crave the tastiness of a burrito, I drive 10 minutes away to the Freebirds on the corner of South Mason! You can never go wrong with their amazing Tex-Mex!

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and I’m glad I finally did. As another reviewer said, it’s better than Chipotle. I still don’t get Chipotle’s appeal but that’s just me I guess. I think I like the fact that at Freebirds, you have the option of getting Spanish rice in your burrito instead of the cilantro lime rice. I’m not too thrilled with that rice and when you’re eating a vegetarian burrito the rice becomes very important. At Freebirds there’s also no ridiculous line. You just walk right up and have them custom make your burrito. All of the beans at freebirds are pork free which is a huge plus for me. I like their hot salsa and refried beans. The guac is nothing to write home about but it’ll do. In general, the burritos are pretty solid and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here when I get a burrito craving. The service is very friendly and that’s always awesome.

Really nice people making really good burritos. Not as «corporate» as that other place, or as stingy on the good stuff!

Why oh why is Freebirds so good?! Why oh why would you go to Chipotle?! Why oh why would you not come by and try a burrito?! Exactly. No reason. So I did. And I always love me some Freebirds. Great tasty tortilla choices, so many meat and bean combos. The rice! So tasty. Loads of veggies, sauces, chips, garlic, lime juice, BBQ sauce?!(Yes!), sour cream and guac. All good. Get it all. Make them work to roll that giant tortilla baby you created. The devour it. Just don’t forget some sweet tea to wash it down. So so good.

I always have great experiences with the employees — at all locations. They always seem happy to be there & they’re great at starting conversation. It must be a talent they look for in the hiring process. It’s a nice touch that brings me back!

Freebirds = Happiness. My fave, is actually Nachos with White Meat Chicken. Certain toppings, such as guacamole, cost extra… but that’s expected. Two choices of rice. Three kinds of beans to choose from. Staff is always friendly and fun. They embrace their off beat«Keep Freebirds Weird» vibe without scaring off first-timers. Come hungry, leave full and free!

The staff is super friendly, which I have come to expect at Freebirds, yet I never take it for granted. Everything else is up to Freebird standards. I always get the chicken bowl with double blackbeans, chicken, pico, jalapeños & salsa. The end. Healthy and reasonably priced. If your looking for sweet the brownies rock too.

I give them a 3. The food is a 4, definitely, but I can get more of that«4» food at one of the competitors. I was disappointed with the amount of shredded cheese put on it. Cheese is very important to me as many people may know so to get such a little dollop was very sad. I had to pay and add queso to it so I could get some cheese. I’d go back here, but maybe I’d be a bit more pushy about the grated cheese. But I also felt the amount of black beans I got was piddly. Also, while it may be cute for people or their kids to make sail boats out of their leftover aluminum foil, it starts to become less creative when they are all lined up on a wall. Then it becomes tacky and makes me wonder about the cleanliness of this place. So that is what keeps the 4th star away for me. I need more cheese and more black beans people!!! Oh, but the queso was good — very flavorful. It didn’t taste like velveeta with tomatoes in it like at most tex-mex places.

If you like chipotle and mission burrito, you will probably like free birds. It’s an okay place in my opinion, no problems here. Food is alright, I just prefer mission burrito.

I have been here a few times with my rowdy little man. The staff here is prettu good, only oncr did I come across someone who was rude.(I will explain later). I come here because it is closer than Chipolte and much better! I usually get a bowl or quesodillas stuffed with everything a burrito has. I love how fresh everything is, and you have more options for toppings than Chipolte. If Freebirds sold Margaritas we would be camped out here allllll offf thhheee timmmme. I like the outdoor seating on a beautiful day or evening but once a umbrella was broken, I went inside to let the staff know and the guy behind the counter really said,“Uh, I would probably just move tables…” I said,“Thanks for the advice braahh, I think you shouldnt put out broken equipment that could hurt someone when it comes closing down on their head.”

I have been going to Freebirds for years, originally at the College Station locations, and have also been to other locations in Houston. The food is fresh and the burrito makers are friendly and helpful. Yes, they tend to hire hippies, but it’s part of the culture/atmosphere. Make a foil sculpture after your meal with your burrito wrapping… customer art is displayed for your enjoyment. Order your burrito the size(3 available) and the ingredients that you want… there is also a calorie calculator online. Hint: the steak is healthier at FBs than the chicken is, and the same goes for the Spanish rice over the lime/cilantro rice and pinto beans over black beans One thing I noticed on my recent visit to the Mason location was that not much sauce was used during the burrito build. In College Station, burritos are drenched in the delicious BBQ sauce. It’s ok, though… you can get additional sauce near the drink machine. Don’t be scared-off if there is a line… it moves fast. FBs is a good alternative to Subway and much better than Chipotle and Bullritos. At this time, FB also has a Unilocal check-in offer.

This specific location is very hit or miss. Majority a miss. Sadly the portions are forever changing. I order a Freebird and it comes out a hybrid or monster. More often hybrid. Also when I come into this location it always seems like something is very low quantity or zero. Like few pieces of steak left or carnitas. Or no black beans left or veggies. Sometimes the Queso has very little favor and is thick or super liquidity. I had one burrito here a long time ago and every time I go in I hoping the have that experience again. Sadly it’s been quite disheartening.
