We have gotten all our daughters birthday cakes from here and they have never disappointed us. Going on 9 years.

Will never go back. I was an extremely frequent customer of this bakery, not because the baked goods were great but because of how close it is to me, but I went back with one of the cakes I had bought that tasted funny and could not believe the rude and nasty attitude the staff I had towards me. They also intended on re-​selling the cake I had just returned! They don’t even deserve one star but Unilocal won’t let me post my review without rating them.

Did we all go to the same bakery? Are those other reviewers paid?
This ‘Italian’ bakery is mostly Salvadoran/​Mexican and Guatemalan. The attempts to create Italian pastry are poor. There are loads of Italian authentic bakeries on Metropolitan Ave in Forest Hills with better food.
If you like Latino bakeries (I’m not a fan), then they have pupusas. A place with this name should have better Italian baked goods. And, for what you get, its very expensive.
The cream in their Napoleons was without taste, and their black and white cookies were dry and crumbly, and not sweet. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
FWIW, Venue next door had better food at more reasonable prices. It’s not a bakery.

Great bakery! I love their rainbow cookies the most. It’s the best place to get a cake and you can’t go wrong with the chocolate mousse — it’s always a winner. They take custom orders, but I haven’t placed one. Aside from that, the staff is always very friendly and extremely helpful.

I have had their cheescake, apple pie, little pastry tarts and their café. All were excellent as expected for homemade baked goods. They were a little too sweet for me but that can be washed down with some coffee. The family that runs this place are super friendly so stop by if you live nearby.

I discovered this bakery through Unilocal!& decided to give them a try & have them make my birthday cake. I called in and told them what i wanted though i have never visited this place before. When i went to pick up my cake i was completely blown away as to what i got. I got more than what i expected and for the price, it was more than worth it! Not to mention it was out of this world delicious!!! Despite the wrong spelling of my name, which they fixed in less than 5 mins., i was completely satisfied & can definitely say i will be back!

Excellent bakery! My sister had custom ordered a red velvet sunflower birthday cake for me and it tasted the bestt. I had custom ordered an optimus prime vanilla&fruit sponge birthday cake for my sister and it was a hit with all her friends! Me and my coworker had bought the chocolate mousse and vanilla sponge cake for our boss’s birthday and both of them tasted fantastic. My sisters looove their tiramisu and the cheesecake too!
Basically, La Dolce Italia was the official bakery for my family — the best local bakery anyone would ask for! The staff is always sweet and kind and their prices are ridiculously good too.

its really like the only bakery in the area. i do give them alot of credit for there strawberry cheesecake is very good and there chocolate mouss cake is excellent. i enjoy there coffees as well. i placed orders for birthday cakes and its always been good and no problems also the staff is friendly and after 6pm they have specials on cookies and breads which is nice.
