I recently started working in downtown La Jolla. I have stopped by here a few times when I didn’t bring my lunch. Every experience has been great so far. I’ve had a couple of the salads and a ½ of Protein Wrap with a ½ of salad. They also have a variety of blended drinks. I usually make my own but, will try one soon! Would definitely recommend Lean and Green if you’re looking for a healthy lunch.

came up upon this place after a long day at the beach and was in shock about all the healthy, vegan-friendly wraps and bowls. I had one of the best smoothies of my life. Too bad I forgot the name so others may purchase it but just ask for the lovely Ruby and ask her what her favorite smoothie is and she will steer you in the right direction. Thank you again Ruby for your above and beyond service. You can expect me to return with friends soon because Lean and Green is the place to be!

Stopped by to grab some lunch for myself and my mum to eat at Lolla cove. Great service and yummy food! I had the Vegan wrap and she had the Super bowl and would happily have it again!!! Thanks for the wheatgrass shot on the house guys!

Lean and Green Café is a really great quick, healthy option in downtown La Jolla. Their salads(my favorite is the low fat tuna and substitute spinach for romaine lettuce) are great and made to order and I really like their wraps as well(Mediterranean chicken is bomb). They have some good breakfast and lunch deals as well.

This is basically a healthy lunch institution in La Jolla. I’ve been coming here for years, and always get the chicken miso wrap(formerly the«favorite wrap»). Chicken breast, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, slivered almonds, pepperoncini, with their tart and umami miso dressing on a wheat wrap. It’s perfect. At $ 13 it’s not cheap by anyone’s standards, and that’s why I only give it four stars. But it is filling. Looking for a quick, healthy, flavorful lunch in La Jolla? Lean and Green, baby. Lean and Green.

We got to the restraunt at 4:30, and they close at 5:00. I could tell they we’re preparing to close and so I felt very rushed when ordering. I got the Jungle smoothie, it was delicious. I ordered the protein salad with no blue cheese. When we got home, there was a lot of blue cheese. I absolutely hate the taste of blue cheese, so I did not eat it. I am disappointed that I paid almost $ 12 for a salad that I did not get to eat. I feel like if they had not been rushing to close, the man would have got my order right. I was also very surprised at the presentation of the salad, there we’re heaping leaves of lettuce that looked like it came from a salad bar.

It was my first time in La Jolla, and it was definitely love at first site. How can you not love a little village that has it all from shopping and cafes, awesome fitness stuidos, a beach, friendly people, and so much more? While I didn’t have a ton of free time during my 3 day visit, I made it a priority to get a couple of healthy meals in. One visit to Lean and Green Café and I was hooked! I see why they were voted«Best: Organic, Healthy Dining, Vegetarian, Lunch, and Salad» in the 2015 La Jolla Today’s Reader’s Choice Awards. First off, Fabian welcomed me in and couldn’t have been more friendly. He took my order and several minutes later it was in my hands… and several minutes after that I found myself enjoying every single bite of my salad creation! I designed my won salad with the following ingredients: romaine, alfalfa sprouts, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, kalamata olives, pepperoncinis, roma tomatoes, yellow beets, avocado, turkey breast and hard boiled egg whites. I went with the balsamic vinaigrette for dressing. Delicious! I think if I lived nearby, they’d have to create the above and call it «the Gabi.» I loved it so much, I went back the next day for round two! This place also has protein shakes, smoothies, juices, wraps, rice bowls, acai bowls, egg bowls and burritos, oatmeal bowls, a kids menu, and more. They cater and offer free delivery in the village as well. Lean and Green Café is definitely my kind of place! If you are craving some healthy fuel, you can’t go wrong here… enjoy and cheers to being lean and green!

I visited this restaurant today for lunch. I had the miso rice bowl. It was very good. The only negative is that the girl(with partially shaved head) making my lunch wiped her nose with her ungloved hand. Gross. They need to work on proper sanitary food preparation. I emailed and called the owner of this business, but have not heard back. Ok. The owner, Vanessa, reached out to me and assured me that food preparers should be wearing gloves and not wiping their noses.

«Kiss me, I’m organic» is what it says on nearly everyone’s tshirt behind the counter… Maybe it should say«Kiss me, the food is good and the people are nice»?!? :p. On a more serious note, this is a great place for a healthy lunch or snack during the day. My personal favorite is the Miso Bowl with steamed eggs. Delicious… And everyone who works at the café is sincerely pleasant. Best option for healthy eating out in La Jolla.

They are trying… but it wasn’t my favorite. They offer some very good options, but the menu isn’t substantial. I don’t like soy or tofu and I felt like they used it in most of their dishes. Also, who eats cottage cheese?(Did I accidentally go to my elderly neighbor’s house for lunch?) I had the acai bowl which was delicious, but it didn’t fill me up. So I ordered a bowl with kale and quinoa and pico… tasty but nothing to return for. The people who work there are very nice.

I got the granola parfait, they let you choose two fruits to put on top. I would expect a place that calls themselves organic and healthy to use if not organic at least fresh fruits, but to my surprise they use CANED fruit covered in syrup! I also got a smoothie, but I’m assuming the fruits are canned… So I can’t realy enjoy it. EDIT– the owner of the store reached putti me and assured me they only use FRESH fruit.

Come here regularly on my lunch break and have always ordered acai bowls. Originally they had two or three to pick from. Now it’s a create your own acai bowl where they have a list of toppings including: mangos, granola, honey, almonds, strawberries, bananas, coconut, and maybe a few others. 2 toppings come complimentary with the bowl which is $ 7.50, $ 8.16 after taxes, secondly the portion is generous as my bowl is usually filled to the brim. They mix their acai with almond milk so it is not as solid as other bowls I have, which I enjoy as it makes it easier to eat. I have had most of there toppings and the fruit always seems fresh, ripe, and sweet. The almonds don’t are sliced and don’t have any skin so nothing gets stuck in your teeth. However their granola isn’t something to rave about, I would describe it as ‘ok’. What’s nice is they have plenty of outdoor seating and have spruced up some benches with pillows and cushions. All of their outdoor tables have flowers and the inside has complimentary water. It never takes too long for my order to arrive which I really enjoy because I have a strict 30min lunch break. Again I think I am a bit of a regular so some employees know I tend to sit at a specific table so they don’t walk around looking for my fruit. Oh yeah your table maker isn’t a number but a fruit, talk lean and green ! Thank you for the great service and of course wonderful acai !

This is truly a hidden gem in La Jolla. From the first day I found this place a few years ago I was instantly impressed and fell in love. If you’re looking for a healthy organic place to eat for lunch, this is the best option I have ever found! Best healthy food, and its all organic too. The people that work here are all amazing! The owner is always so welcoming and wonderful every time we eat here. I usually come and work here for a couple hours when I visit because I drive 30 minutes, all the way from downtown, just to come to this place! Think of it like Urban Plates in Del Mar, with a touch of Europe to it. I love it. If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Definitely a spot you have to try if you are looking to eat healthy but still have your tastebuds satisfied!

They did very good with GF(celiac) the first day as the manager(blonde gal) was present. The manager was not present the second day and the staff seemed to be less careful(had to watch for cross-contamination). With that said, the food was delicious and GF items were clearly marked on the menu. There were a lot of GF options. [FYI: We’re pretty sensitive(celiac) and didn’t get sick]. Update: Ended up coming back for a third time. The manager, an attractive French man, recognized us from the previous day and remembered that we have food allergies. He inquired as to how they did last time and subsequently what they could do better to prevent possible cross-contamination(which was previously a concern). Especially appreciated his genuine interest in improving our experience. His managerial skills bumped the score up to five stars, instead of the previous four stars. Wish there was a Lean and Green where I live! Tip: We tried a variety of salads, bowls, and smoothies. All were delicious but the smoothies were especially tasty. Plus all of the smoothies were GF so we didn’t have to worry about cross-contamination, which is hard to come by with smoothies.

I really love the concept of this café, in giving health conscious folks different options and using all organic ingredients. I used to go here fairly frequently, maybe once a week to once every other week and I stuck to my regular Asian Chicken Salad. The sizing for the salad is fairly generous, as in they give you lots of lettuce. Chicken was decent, slightly dry but the dressing made up for it. However, during a bout of rain storms in San Diego, the salad that I received was completely red and did not look fresh. These salads come out $ 12, and for the cheapest ingredient to show clear signs of aging was unacceptable. I did not bring it back, because I had ordered it to go and I was not going to waste any more of time by driving all the way back to the café. After almost 6 months, I decided to give them another chance, and got a turkey rainbow wrap. I was disappointed again. The wrap was really small, about 7 inches in length and 3 inches in width. These wraps are priced at $ 12 after tax as well. It was packed with mostly lettuce, and 1 thin layer of turkey. What really struck me was that it was about the size and width of my hand.

The concept of this health food place is good. But the amount of money I spent on my salad wasn’t worth it. I think I spent $ 11 – 12 for a build my own and the amount of greens was insane, there should have been much more of the toppings and much less of the greens. Its a good healthy lunch option if you are willing to spend that much but I would say try something besides the salads.

I was craving some soup one afternoon after a nice nice walk in the neighborhood, specifically some lentil soup, so I ended up here, after using the Unilocal App searching for lentil soup. When I arrived, I was greeted by a nice young lady, and I quickly ordered a large bowl of the Tuscan Lentil Soup and a bottle of green unsweetened green tea. The soup was not on the regular menu board, but on a chalkboard menu out in front. The Tuscan Lentil Soup arrived piping hot. I mean really hot! So much that I had to let it sit a bit and stir it up a bit before digging in. I’m not complaining because I like it hot, and after I tried my first spoonful, I had quite the smile on my face. The soup first of all had great flavor. Not only from the spot on seasoning, but from all the extra herbs, spices, and vegetables they added. The lentils themselves were hearty and a perfect al dente, not to mention quite tasty too. Although, the bowl of soup came with a sufficient amount, it would of been nice to have a side of crostini or some sort of cracker to dip in the soup. Just an idea. The staff here is pretty up beat and they all have a health incline attitude. They make a variety of health conscious minded eats, such organic salads, wraps, and smoothies, not to mention some terrific soups.

I used to come here every time after I hit the gym… and then it turned into every time I was on campus… and now it’s whenever I can! I have yet to sample much of their menu, to be honest. I always get the Matcha Green Tea protein smoothie with an extra boost of vitamin C. When I’m sick, I get the sniffles boost. It tastes like a deliciously creamy, green tea ice cream shake! I know it’s not the healthiest thing in the world, but it makes for a great semi-not-guilty treat ;)

I’ve been to Lean and Green about 4 times now and I am yet to be disappointed. Located in a business center near downtown La Jolla, they offer a wide variety of healthy organic breakfasts and lunches — smoothies, breakfast wraps, oatmeal, acaii bowls ect. They take pride in their healthy food and have been voted as San Diego’s readers choice top healthy spot for food this year. Nothing they serve is all that complicated or complex but it is a great place to stop by for a healthy bite if I’m too lazy to make it myself. Oh, and free wheatgrass shot upon check in if you’re into that :)

OMG!!! I just had the BEST bean & cheese burrito EVER!!! Good god, it puts my grandma’s B&C to shame(and we’re Mexican!!) it’s no longer on their current menu but they were kind enough to make it for me, and I’m so thankful they did bc it was truly delicious!!! Don’t know if it was the black beans or the raw cheese but it was the BESTEVER!!!

Working in the area this morning and decided to grab lunch on my way out. Unilocal lead me here :) It was good! Love the options on the menu. And got a free wheatgrass shot for checking in! I ordered the Vegan Delight wrap. Loved the contents of the wrap and size was perfect. It was a little heavy on dressing though. But it definitely gave it it’s flavor. Price was a little steep for lunch but probably worth it for the quality of ingredients. Staff was friendly. Location was not visible from the street but really easy to find by the sign on the sidewalk. Tucked away in the courtyard of an office building. I’ll definitely come back if it’s convenient in my travels.
