United Coin & Precious Metals

This guy is a crook… He lied to me about my coins that my grandfather gave me but still offered to buy off of me… I went down the street to la Jolla coin where I was offered the correct amount for my coins.

Searched the county for quite a while to find a coin/​metals shop in a nice neighborhood with knowledgeable help and great prices. (not too much to ask is it!) Found United CPM and Peter (owner and store operator). Peter is upfront with pricing (just check his website) and has a substantial inventory of precious metals (both gold and silver) as well as numismatic material. He is more than willing to share his extensive knowledge in the metals market as well as coin collecting/​investing. His knowledge of collecting can be seen in the poster displayed in the store showing his PCGS number 1 set of proof Barber halves that he put together over many years.
United also purchases jewelry and other items of silver/​gold and Peter is upfront with his purchase details and pricing.
Very happy with this owner operated store.

INVENTORY!
I don’t give out 5 stars very often but this place is deserving. I had been to a few places around town looking for silver American Eagles without any luck. A few places had Maple Leafs but overall, nobody had much of anything. I was in Del Mar for work so I figured I’d give this place a call since La Jolla was on my way home. I spoke to the owner who said he was closing in a few minutes but he was going to be around a while doing paper work and if I wanted some Eagles I could come by. So I went and found out this shop has a ton of inventory. Gold and Silver Eagles and just about everything else. The owner, Peter, was a real class act. This is a great place that has a lot of inventory.

I was looking for a spot in town where I could trade in a few coins that my grandpa passed down to me. I heard about United Coin and Precious Metals from a neighbor and decided to drop by. I met the owner Peter who was kind enough to tell me all about the gold coins I had to trade it. He proved to me their value using a current market evaluation website and proceeded to offer me the going rate for which was twice as much as I had hoped for. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the legitimacy of the business and honest customer service.
