Golden Corral — Restaurant Number: 2564 3950 Wedgewood Lane The Villages, Florida 32162 (352) 391‑1905 On the night of 12÷8÷15 at 17:30 we entered Golden Corral in The Villages to enjoy dinner and found many things old and not hot. But we continued to try to eat what was fresh and looked better. More then an hour later we were about to eat dessert but decided to speak with the manager first about there OLD items still untouched and really sick looking. When I spoken to the manager(Mrs. Janie) she was the most rudest person I have ever talked to. I nicely explained that many items has been sitting here since we got here and are old and cold. She said«WHERE» with a bad attitude. So I started to show her the 5 items that were old and has been there for more then an hour untouched. She then called the worker over to correct them and she walked away. Without any apologies or we are sorry for your experience… NOTHING. This was not the way to handle a problem or even more so a customer. So I walked up to one dish to take a «Photo» and she yelled at me to LEAVEHERRESTAURANT. This is so unprofessional in so many ways. So as I walked to get my family she kept yelling the door is here, get out. I said I’m getting my family and we are leaving don’t worry. So as I got my family as we return to the front to leave she was on the phone with the police for«Taking a photo» of the old food and not leaving(this is what she was telling them). Because she knows that she could have gotten in so much trouble. As we were leaving one of her workers followed us out. We were leaving but before we could get into our truck the police has already showed up. So after talking with the police she said to the police«I want them banned from this restaurant» so if we show up again we(the family) will be charged for trespassing. I have NEVER been to any restaurant where I have had a problem and talked with the manager only to be KICKEDOUT and BANNED! I have one photo of the food and the video starting after I noticed she was on the phone with the police giving them a full description of myself and family. This full encounter with this restaurant was so unprofessional and the need for 4 police cars to show up was unnecessary. Me and my family still can’t believe how she handled this situation and we feel so disrespected, embarrassed and belittled by this matter. After I got back home I called the restaurant to confirm her name as the manager on duty and the lady I spoken to said«Janie» is the manager. I asked for her last name for my letter to corporate and she hung up on me. I hope everyone that reads this will show your support and not subject your family to a unprofessional and poor ran restaurant. I have contacted corporate and a few other channels and will post an update as I know how this is dealt with by corporate

Food is good, but service is thumbs down!!! We got to the door at 10:57 am door was open we proceeded inside cashier was behind her register, watched us walk in come thru there chain maze all the way to counter then looks at us and says«you will have to come back at 11 we are not open yet. We looked at her with the deer in the headlight look and a fellow escorted us to the door and locked it behind us. Meanwhile by now on the other end entrance peeps were at door he turns around unlocks that door let’s them in, walks back inside waits 2 minutes comes back unlocks the door he just shoved us out of. What in the world??? One thing is certain, they haven’t seen the last of us, can you say discrimination!!!

Today my friend Andy wanted to go to buffet. He is a big man. So he loves to eat. As I do, it’s been some time since I been to buffet. Like a lighting bolt up the ass. I remember why I don’t come to these places. Because I am a week person and because I grow up poor, surrounded by wars and poverty. I act like a crazy animal in these places eating til I hurt my body. One more bit. Please don’t forget the gravy. Like in Monte python I am ready to exploded. Fat man in little coat. As I walked out of the buffet. All I could see is people dropping to there knees. Saying hail Buddha. Hail Buddha, hail Buddha. The great fat sick Buddha has left the building. Ps I love you Elvis.

Have seen the commercials for years. But never tried it, until today. We drove by on an errand, the place was packed. Figured the food must be somewhat fresh with all the people. Did our errand, came back and gave it a go. Pleasantly surprised! Loved all the veggie options; corn, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage, okra, zucchini, carrots, greens, corn on the cob. A few of them were a bit mushy but most were pretty good. Had a nice selection of items for the green salad bar, as well as about right different dressings. Didn’t try the steak. But did try the pot roast, a little salty, chicken in gravy, a little bland. Fried chicken was pretty darn good. I ate mostly the breaded fried shrimp. Stuffing was good, mashed potatoes a little thin, but with some gravy was good. Tried the corn pudding, yum! There was also pizza, taco bar, baked potato bar. Dessert, I tried the blueberry pie, a little gummy. But I was impressed by the coconut cream pie. Would we stop again, yes! Especially at the lunch rate of $ 9. Be advised, drinks are not included. No comparison between here and the other buffets we’ve stopped at. Won’t be hitting a Royal Fork or Old Country Buffet again.

It’s a great buffet, not the Vegas kind of buffet but it’s half the price too. Everything I tried was good, hot and moderately seasoned. You have to remember they are appealing to everyone’s taste. I think the selection is hard to believe, I mean 4 different shrimp selections and a nice seafood section. Desserts are wonderful and worth the price of the buffet if you total up what I had. The general cleanliness is above average and the buffet area seamed to be policed on a regular basis. Staff was courteous and informative. I asked a woman where the tartar sauce was and she took me down to where it was and scooped some in a cup for me!

Good buffet, but don’t understand why this Golden Corral in Lady Lake doesn’t have whole turkey at lunch like the one in Ocala. I go specifically for the turkey and veges. The buffet I really like is called the Wood Grill in Harrisonburg, VA. They have 4 in other places, but it surpasses the Golden Corral by a mile. You can’t believe the bake potato they serve you and the shrimp. Same pricing. Wish they could come to Ocala area.

Can’t. Eat. Another. Bite. Must. Push. Chair. Away. From. Buffet. I really feel as if I am going to explode after eating at this place. I feel as if I am about to give birth I am so stuffed. I hate my sister for taking me to this den of gluttony! But man, I do have to admit that some of the food offerings were quite tasty. This buffet is huge and has many options of meats, poultry, salads, fish, veggies, desserts, etc. The fried chicken is crazy good — crispy, juicy, and tender. Plus, the breasts were so large this was fried chicken on steriods! Steaks grilled the way you like them. Tasty beef and pork ribs. BBQ chicken. Multiple dressings and toppings to put on your salads. All of it just basic solid comfort style food. Never will be confused with a Michelin 5 star restaurant, but a good choice of you just want to slip on the big pants and loose t-shirt and have a pig out followed by a buffet food coma. What I also noticed here is that the staff was constantly re-supplying the foods, cleaning the serving areas and tables, sweeping and vacuuming. This seems like a pretty clean and well kept location of this chain. Plus, our waitress was friendly and constantly kept refilling our drinks and cleaning the finished plates off our table. Service this evening was terrific. Another note — for three adults the bill came out to about $ 45. A pretty cheap price to pay for the food baby stuck in my stomach now. Maybe it was the three slices of blueberry pie followed by banana pudding and a brownie. Guh!

Not too clean & staff doesn’t seem to stay on top of things. Food is mediocre. Don’t think I’ll be returning.

Bad food, even the school lunch caferteria food was better than here. The quaility of any of the food is below edible — I have tried the one in Leesburg previous and would not go back due to being just dirty — This one being new in the village is not dirty but the food is just awful…

This is a nice buffet, definately better managed and cleaner than the Golden Corrals in Leesburg or Ocala. The food is very good and has a decent variety. It’s usually quite crowded for dinner, as all the Villages residents are there to get their slab of Grade-B steak. The only issue I have with this Golden Corral is that it always takes far too long for the server to bring drink refills. The drinking cups are very small and filled with more ice than drink, so it takes no time before it’s time for a refill, and it seems that the servers(who only brings plates and drinks) are nowhere to be seen. Other than that, I recommend this Golden Corral.
