The Lake Elsinore Casino should actually be broken up into four separate businesses: the casino itself, the hotel(Econo Lodge), the restaurant(4 Jaxx), and the Lounge. This review is for the Lounge. We have visited this bar a couple of dozen times in the six years that we’ve lived in the vicinity. We like the atmosphere(most of the time)… It is actually a mix of businesses, all in one room: the bar, of course, lot’s of TV’s for sports, a couple of gaming tables, and food — it shares the kitchen with 4 Jaxx Restaurant. We go there to enjoy the drinks and the food, and we prefer the atmosphere in the Lounge to that of the restaurant. This place has been undergoing a lot of renovations over the past several years. The most noticeable is the fresh cleanliness that it now has. In particular are the restrooms which adjoin the Lounge — very clean and modern with the latest in water saving technology — very nice! We went last night. And even though the restaurant looked pretty deserted, and the casino was sparse(of course, it was still relatively early, 6ish or so), the Lounge was jumping. We were able to snag one of the booths(there are four, I believe) upon arrival, but by the time we left a couple of hours later, it was Standing Room Only. We had several drinks, an appetizer, and dinner. The Long Island was very well made, and the other drinks(rum & coke) and the house wine were all good. We shared a veggie tempura appetizer(zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower and onion rings), and then had the Smothered Chicken and the Shredded Beef Tacos. This is where there is some disappointment. The tacos were on the salty side. When we told our server about it, she immediately took them back to the kitchen and replaced them(at our request) with ground beef tacos. Unfortunately, they were also disappointing. On the greasy side, and more mush-like meat than we would like. We’ve had the tacos here before, and it was actually one of our standbys. We are hoping that this is a one time occurrence. The chicken was ok, but somewhat undefined, would probably not order it again. As I said earlier, the entire complex shares the same kitchen, which they are obviously trying to re-cast in a better light than before. The menu is enormous. It features breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, pizza, comfort food, new American cuisine, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, steaks, seafood, salads, and MORE! Maybe they are trying too hard for variety instead of quality.(Jack of all trades???) The best part of the evening, though, was the service. We were served by Kaitlyn. She was impressive! Until things got extremely busy, she single-handedly dealt with the bar(which was pretty full, even when we first got there) and the booths. And we never felt neglected. She was also extremely friendly. We both hope that she is around there for a long time — she’s a huge asset. In addition to everything else, the prices are very reasonable. For four drinks, a glass of wine, an appetizer and two dinners, cost was around $ 60 plus tip. Our hope is that the owner continues striving to improve, and that the kitchen become more focused on quality, rather than variety. But we will definitely be back!
