I truly hope I caught an outlier, but based on the donut I had this morning, I can’t share the positive sentiment of other reviewers for this bakery. As anyone should do on a Friday morning, I groggily wandered into this ‘dive bakery’ looking to cram my arteries full of fat and sugar. The selection was a bit limited, but the few options available(the standard glazed, chocolate, powdered sugar etc) were stocked full. Among the dozen I picked, I set my gaze on a chocolate frosted cake donut. My heart palpitated and my beer belly gurgled in eager antipation, but both vital organs were left wanting after the dry donut crumbled unenthusiastically in my mouth. I ended up tossing the rest of the potentially stale donut in the trash and defeatedly opted for a healthier oatmeal start to my day :(I’ll give the bakery another chance just in case I got a bad donut, but round one was not a success.

The donuts themselves are fantastic and a plain glazed donut will leave you raving. I couldn’t give a five star because I found myself eating around the filling. In the jelly filled donuts the jelly tasted like berry KoolAid before the sugar is added, bitter. The cream in the cream filled was fairly tastless and could have used vanilla or anything to make the whipped sugar filling taste worth eating. They had a large selection of cookies and a few types of pastries as well.

Love. This. Place. My hometown favorite, hands down. Try some of their seasonal donuts, as well as the normal selection. Blueberry, apple cider, stuff like that. My favorite, though, is a still-warm cinnamon cake. They melt in your mouth. And the coffee is solidly good. Side note: The cakes are awesome, too. The cake decorator does an excellent job making cakes to request. Side Side Note: They have rolls in the freezer that are really good for dinner. Especially the ones you put ham in to make little sandwiches. But you have to ask because they don’t normally have them sitting out in the open. They only take about five minutes to warm up in the oven.

This is truly a classic donut shop. Very friendly staff, fast service, good donuts, seating available, great for kids. We have been going here every Saturday for the last 4 years.

If there ever was a «dive» bakery, this would be it. Small, hole-in-the-wall, old fashioned little gem on Southland drive. A few old men that are always there chatting over coffee every time I go in. The donuts are nothing fancy, but are down to earth, all-American, gosh darn tasty little treats. The caramel donuts are definitely on top of my list. You gotta try them! However, the biggest reason that always brings me back here is the friendliness of the staff and the amazing attitude of the owner. Last time I went there I found out they don’t take credit cards for small transactions which is totally fine because most places do that. What surprised me was that the lady behind the desk offered to let me pay the next time I came in(even though she had never met me before). This is a small gesture but it goes a long way towards displaying the trust the owner puts in his customers. When you’re in here they really do treat you with respect. I wouldn’t trade this for anything.

I go there for one thing — chocolate icing on their donuts… more like fudge, so chocolaty gooey and yummy. Word of caution — they bag not box the ½ dozen orders. Yesterday my donuts were dropped into the bag icing down and all the wonderful sugary chocolate stuck to the bag. Still highly recommended tho– :)

With cupcake shops springing up faster than pop-tarts from a toaster, there are many options to choose from. However, I frequently find myself less than happy with some of these gourmet concoctions. Some have so much much frosting that you could decorate a four layer cake with the excess. Then others have a frosting so thin that it slides off the sides as soon as it’s removed from refrigeration. And don’t get me started on the bland and dry cake part. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled into Donut Days looking for emergency cupcakes for a birthday party I had neglected to plan for. I was expecting to pay out the wazoo for 24 specialty cupcakes. Most places I called could not even fill my last minute request. I walked into Donut Days on a whim and was excited to see that they had plenty of their large cupcakes in the display. These were well decorated cakes with a perfect mound of piped frosting and sprinkles where appropriate. The flavors on that day included strawberry, carrot cake, vanilla, chocolate, and something with a caramel icing. Not only did these cupcakes look great, but they tasted amazing. Everyone at the party assumed that these had come from some fancy bakery. The best part is that the cupcakes didn’t cost $ 3 or more like in most specialty shops. These large, tasty, treats only cost $ 1.25 each. The next time I need cupcakes I will definitely order them from Donut Days.
