I love food and I hate to bash on anything that has chips in the name, but this place doesn’t even deserve to have a gift from God, like chips in its name. I’ve only been once, so maybe it was a off day. But I will never know. Unless I wind up crashing on a dessert island and there is one mysterious restaurant… pestro’s…just sitting there. But even then I’ll probably just eat sand…

I been to Petros several time and never had anything that was disappointing. I think the Chili and chips throws people off from the place. I’ve never even tried their chili. Baked potato Awesome Wedge salad great! Nachos are Great. Make you get double meat for $ 1.00 more Nathan’s Hot Dogs

Not a big fan of this place. It’s overpriced and the few times I have went they never get my order correct. The food was so-so, but it’s not my favorite.

I went there Monday for the first time. I ordered the chicken nachos, which was really good. The only thing that will keep me from coming back is the prices. The reason I went was for the chili dog. I heard it was the best in town by several people. When I read $ 4.99 for a hot dog, I decided on something else. I’m a stocky guy. I’m not paying over $ 10.00 for two hot dogs & a drink. I can go to Rooster up the road for better food & better prices. Anyway, back to my order. The chicken nachos are really good, but $ 10.00 is too much for size of the order.

The chili is good, but not great. When I eat here I like to get the Petro’s hot dog. It’s good, but pretty pricey for a hot dog. The potatoes are good too! My kids like the nachos. We always have good service and everyone is friendly. It’s different and that’s what I like about it!

Pretty pricey for some mediocre chili served on some soggy Fritos. They have a bunch of different kinds of bowls you can get; I had the pulled pork Petro, and it was underwhelming.

Petro’s is near Kroger in Tate’s Creek Centre, sandwiched between fast food places. We went through the drive-thru, so I can’t speak to the atmosphere. I wanted to try it for a while, but it does always look empty. I got a medium«lite» chili with reduced fat sour cream and cheese, my husband got a gourmet pulled pork petro. I liked it a lot, it was good chili fast. It’s a good alternative to Gold Star, actual chili with beans instead of chili as a topping. My husband was underwhelmed. It’s pricey compared to the area(again, fast food), but I was fine with that as I think the quality is a little better and the portion was fair.

Underwhelming! This place will be closed soon if a few critical issues aren’t addressed. Mainly, the atmosphere in the restaurant, and the complete lack of good customer service. The food isn’t bad. It’s chili, you can’t really mess that up. But what should be a somewhat simple and enjoyable dining experience is instead a sad and stressful one. No music, unfriendly staff, two tvs on different channels fighting for your attention, it’s just awful. Would not recommend to anyone, unless they are in dire need of a chili fix.

I really, really have tried hard to like this place. The first few off experiences I had, I attributed to grand opening kinks that would be eventually worked out. It seems, months after opening, however, that they aren’t going to get it together. The surly teenage employees, the relatively overpriced menu, and the horrible atmosphere are just too much for me to overcome in order to get their food(which is actually not bad). The two dueling TVs blaring are set to two different channels — ESPN and Fox News. How wonderfully nauseating for a dining experience. There are only two enormous booths and most of the rest of the seating is set up cafeteria-style, with long rows of uncomfortable tables and chairs. I can get surly teenage workers at McDonalds for half the price. Thanks, but no thanks. I can see why I’ve frequently been one of the few people here.

Tried it for the first time and ordered the medium Petro chilli. It was actually quite good. The lemonade was tasty, and the service was great. I don’t know why this place isn’t packed for lunch. Very affordable!

I tried this restaurant based on my aunts recommendation and let me say it was great. The service was excellent and the pulled pork bbq baked potato was amazing. It’s a little pricey but worth it. I will definitely be back to try something else.

To put it simply, I am not a fan and I will not go back. We decided to give this place a try, but sadly we left underwhelmed and felt like we spent too much. The chili cheese dogs, while not bad, were $ 5 each. We also ordered Petro Nachos to split. The chips were stale, the toppings were mediocre at best. We didn’t even finish them. What made the experience worse was the fact that the girl at the register could tell we’ve never been to the restaurant before but still offered no help; she just stared at us while we looked at the menu. You may have a better experience than I did, so give it a try at your own risk.

This was actually my second visit to Petro’s. I’d forgotten my phone the first visit and I really hadn’t planned on coming back becuase of the first visit. I was under«wow’ed» with what I ordered. The first visit I had the chicken nachos. It was a small serving and for the price is rather go to Shamrocks and get my 4 times more of a serving than what I got here. I decided to give it a second try with just me And my daughter. We had the kids Mac n cheese meal and I only had the Petro’s bake potato and a drink. It was almost 12.00. The baked potato was good and huge, but for 6.00 it should include the drink or a side. It is a change of pace, but a bit overpriced for what you get.

Food is ok but there’s no situation where I’m paying five bucks for plain old child dog ever again. Not thinking this over priced joint will last

I’ll be honest, my first visit here wasn’t the best. I wasn’t very hungry and I ordered a salad. Not my favorite salad in the world, but hey, it’s called Petro’s Chili and Chips. Not Petro’s Salads. I resolved to keep my peace and try it again some other time. I came back today and got the Petro’s Buffalo Chicken Gourmet Chili over chips, which is supposedly one of their best selling items. I asked for my ranch on the side(you could also get bleu cheese or nothing) just so I could get a better look at what I ordered and assess the spiciness level. The buffalo sauce is infused into the chili and dang, it was spicy! I’m glad I had the ranch there to cool it down. In some respect, I was a little annoyed at the tall bowl because I wasn’t able to mix my chili up very well. But in the long run, I kind of appreciated it because every bite was a little bit different. My wife got the BBQ Pulled Pork Chili and enjoyed it quite thoroughly, especially on the recommendation to put the BBQ sauce on the side. It made the chili a kind of strange sickly sweet, but the pork was plentiful and a welcome addition to the chili. The hint’o’orange iced tea is excellent here as well. I strongly recommend it along with an orange slice and their nugget ice. A little expensive for my liking($ 18 for us both) but definitely something different and very tasty. We will be back!

Really wanted to like this place, but turns out there is a reason the«chili and chips» restaurant concept isn’t more popular. First, and most importantly, the chili tastes just like a can of Hormel chili and the chips are straight from a bag. Since almost all dishes use these two ingredients as a base, you can guess how everything tastes. We ordered loaded nachos and two orders of the original Petro, one with chicken. Blah. Neither my wife or I finished either. We looked at each other and said at same time, «I don’t ever want to come here again.» If their chili even had as much flavor as Goldstar’s Tex Mex, it might be tolerable. It’s too bad for Petro’s they are about a block from Taco Bell. Go there. Spend half of what Petro’s will cost you.

Excellent chili for a great price! Several different options for your chili. The tea with a hint of orange is ok but a little weak for my taste.

My wife and I were first time patron’s today. I’ll start with«WOW» on the size of the potatoes. Those things are really big. My wife had hers with chicken and it was great. I had the medium original Petro. I had never had corn chips in my chili. I’m a convert now. I took a photo of mine. I had mine without sour cream. The chili was the right amount of spice and flavor. Another benefit is that most of their food is gluten free. WEWILLBEBACKSOON.
