I brought three rolls of film with me from Waterford here in late March this year. I had a friend recommend this place to me because they completed around 15 disposable cameras for him in an hour and they were done with great quality. A week after I dropped off my film I had to call the store because they had not attempted to contact me about the status of pictures being done or not. When I called the store they informed me that my photos were ready to be picked up whenever I was ready to come get them. Because I live in Waterford, and Waterford is just over a 40 minute drive to Livonia, I did not make the drive back to Photo Express for about another three weeks. When I got to the store on an early Saturday morning I walked to the counter and told the woman who was working my full name(obviously so she could go find my pictures.) After about two minutes of looking she turned around and asked me to verify my name and spelling of my name. After another quick look through the front and back of the store I was told they could not find my photos. I was told I could leave and wait for them to call me when they finally found them. Because I had dropped off 110 film and someone specific who only works on week days processes this kind of film, I was told they could do nothing for me until monday when that employee came into work. I explained that driving to and from the store was a hassle and out of the way for me — I did not want to have to leave and wait for them to finally find my pictures they had misplaced. Feeling very frustrated and feeling like I was not being taken seriously, I went out into my car and called the store and asked to speak to the manager. I explained the entire situation to him and he assured me he would call me promptly and let me know what was happening with my photos. Two minutes later I got a call back — because of my handwriting they had written down my last name as an entirely different name, but all of my pictures were ready to be picked up that day. Thankfully I did not leave the store and start driving home. The manager did take a whole $ 1 off my entire total for all three rolls of film I dropped off.(big whoop) I was told to leave the store and wait for a phone call in a few days because of the carelessness and lack of interest the girls working at the counter had for my situation. Even though I kindly expressed in a patient manner that it was extremely out of my way to even be here giving them my pictures and money. Who knows if I would have even get a phone call from them about losing my pictures; they never attempted to contact me once during this entire process. I still have not gone back.

I’ve worked in camera stores and photo labs for 15 years, and even worked as a photo lab technician for much of that time. I haven’t printed anything since I left my last photo store job, because I didn’t think anyone was left who could do a good job. Express photo is one of the only shops in the Detroit area that still uses a chemical printing process. I ordered my prints online, and was pleased with the prices. I picked them up the next day. I was in and out the door in 5 minutes, with 2 beautiful 8×10 B&W prints for under $ 9.00. I will definitely use them again, and recommend them to friends and family. Their hours make it possible for me to pick them up on the way home from work One note: They are in the second mall east of Newburgh, on the north side of 6 mile. Google maps couldn’t quite get me there.

We had portraits and banners made for our daughter’s team. When my wife picked up the order, there were several mistakes(wrong pic used, incorrect names). My wife went back later the same day to pick up the corrected items. There were still mistakes. I came back the following day and was told the items were not ready due to someone forgetting to do it. The quality of the correct items were good, but no excuse in taking so many attempts to get the items correct.

The staff at Express Photo & Camera were super nice and efficient. My family and I were preparing for my grandfather’s funeral and needed a large photo(16″ x 20″) printed same day and on a weekend. They got the job done! The price was very reasonable too. Many family members commented on how good the photo looked. Whereas, I called a big box office supply/copy store, and they were unable to give me a straight answer on whether or not they would be print the photo. I’m glad a went to Express Photo instead.
