Update: service and food are still excellent. The waitress Ty was especially great this time around. We had a chicken taco salad and the calamari plate and could not finish all of the great food.

I have been coming to this restaurant for about two years, after having driven by it for a few years before that without ever stopping in. This is a great diner located near downtown, the New Pike, and downtown hotels. Prices are reasonable, and a lot of food it prepared fresh (Soups, veggies, etc) in the restaurant rather than purchased pre-​made.
There is a huge menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, specials every day. They have Greek, Mexican, and American dishes to choose from. This is one of the many restaurants in Long Beach operated by Greeks.
Food is reasonably priced, service is always prompt, attentive, and friendly. Its one of the few places that still bring water to the table without being asked.
I’ve never found it to overly busy at any time that I have been in there, so waiting for an open table has never been a problem.

This has been here forever! When I worked at the hotels, I used to refer everybody here. Don’t know what you want? Too much on the menu? Some Greek fix? Some breakfast? Lunch? Dinner for breakfast? It’s Long Beach, laid back, no stress.
There’s something for everyone, don’t make it to be about LA style! Me and my partner come here almost every weekend and the parking lot is always packed.
This is a dine and eat place, nothing fancy, no need babysitting or tableside service, just get your hunger fixed then go run some errands.
Local’s tip: It’s better if you have a party of 4 or less cause if you have a large party, good luck getting seated. Or break up your super large party into 2 smaller groups. These tourists tried to block me from making eye contact with the servers/​bussers when I came into the front door but hey guy, you’re in my hood. I know these folks for over 20 years now, with a smile and eye contact. They know me. They already got my coffee and order down.

Dunno about the ‘bland’ taste of food some people reviewed about. In my opinion, these people probably over salt their food or have been used to many years of ingesting super high sodium foods. They get confused how food is supposed to taste and are used to over-​seasoning or over-​salting, ajinomoto kine, you know those kine people. Them people sound like the ramen 10x a day people, having some salt with their food, not the other way around. Chicken supposed to taste like chicken, not salt.
Right?

Best chicken fried steak I’ve had in the west coast. Can’t imagine anything on the menu disappointing

My fiancé and I love it here. A bit pricey but it’s worth it because they give good size portions. They are friendly here also. They accommodate my every need. The pancakes are the best. I’ll be trying the Red, White, Blue French Toast soon because I saw a lady had it and my mouth was watering lol.

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from our anniversary getaway. It was the perfect spot! The food was fantastic, the prices were great and the staff was very helpful. Unfortunately I had a little bit of a medical emergency while we were there but the staff was so kind and even called the paramedic for us. They were very cooperative. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back!

This has turned to my regular favorite. The staff is super friendly and hilarious. My partner and I both shared our birthday breakfast there Jan 21 (the same day) and when we return today the lady from Greece remembered and gave us free pancake hook up Thank You.
The food is always just right and HUGE portions. We usually stick with The Longshore Man.

The food is always delicious. They are always super friendly. Generous portions and great selections to choose from.

I am writing this review from a standpoint of food quality and delivery of the food. As for the atmosphere it is your typical road stop like restaurant, but in a city. If your looking for a posh restaurant this is not the place, but if you want to get right to the point and get some good food, here you go. Place was very clean. Server was nice. Ordered the Colossal Angus Burger. One pound of meat. Ate it fast. Great burger. I would highly recommend this place.

I really like this place! we’ve been here many, many times over the past 8 years & maybe once it wasn’t great. otherwise, it’s always very satisfying. i’m presently sitting here enjoying a delicious bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup loaded with mostly white meat (not that I mind dark, I love it) and couldn’t be happier at the moment. the server suggested squeezing a wedge of lemon in it and yum, my tummy is super satisfied! speaking of lemons, their lemons are never gooey and gross. they are fresh cut and kept on ice to keep them fresh. I usually avoid asking for lemon from most places because they’re slimy & gross. but here, I know it’s weird but their lemons are super fresh.
speaking of which, it’s pretty slow at the moment as the rain is keeping everyone away. but the staff is all quietly doing little tasks keeping the place clean & neat.
I if u are looking for an old school diner that serves fresh huge portions this is your place.

The portions were generous and the food was delicious. I had filet of sole and still have half a potato and veggies for lunch tomorrow. I shared with mom as well. The chicken rice soup was so good-​perfect for the weather! And the service was great. The man kept our drinks full and constantly was making sure we were doing good. Definitely will be back

Great breakfast spot!
Waitstaff was prompt seating us and on-​point with refills… not «hover-​y» or «overly» efficient; which is what I prefer!
The Earthly Omelet is my fav! A little untraditional with spinach, mushrooms, and cream cheese… but, wow! It doesn’t disappoint.
Otherwise, for lunch… not my first choice, but good enough to come back.

Great place for breakfast, service is excellent! Pancakes made from scratch are delicious. Hash brown is a little bit flavorless.

Their menu here is bit crazy because its so big. I thought a lot of it was over priced, like their milkshake. I ordered strawberry milkshake and I taste no strawberries in it at all. Portions are big, but food is sub-​par. My nachos were not the greatest. I don’t recommend ordering that either. The staff seemed friendly, not attentive, but nice.

Great breakfast spot. I love the pork medallion breakfast. Huge menu with tons of Greek and Mexican delights. Also full of American comfort food.
It’s a Long Beach staple.

Food. Whenever I’m in the area I make it a point to stop in. One of my favorites is the meatloaf sandwich.

Ok so what I found out here on my very first visit was that you either come starving to death or be tray to take tons of leftovers home because their portions are Huge!
The food itself is not bad either. I ordered a meatloaf with mashed potatoes and OMG they gave me a mountain of it with a pretty big sized meatlof patties.
Pretty good for a dinner. I’ll be back.

This is a standard diner that you find in most cities and it’s definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area.
The food is delicious and the portions are huge. The prices are decent and the service is good. What more could you ask for?

This is a very local café for Long Beach’ers. It’s an old school café that serves a million different dishes. From Spanish Omelette to Gyros… they have just about everything you are craving for.
There are plenty seats here. From table to booths to bar they have it. I’ve never waited for more than 2 minutes for a seat and drinks are always serve immediately.
Service here has always been consistently good and attentive. My water, coffee, and orange juice are always filled without having to flag down someone for refill. The servers are always more than happy to adjust your meal to your preference and gets it right the first time.
Lately I’ve been ordering the granola and bananas and it’s simple and good which is very refreshing. It’s like going back to the basics. Nothing fancy and that’s a good thing! It’s My go to little breakfast starter. Their omelette is what you expect; huge portions with fresh vegetables and piping hot.
LB Café is becoming my staple after a workout and I don’t ever leave disappointed and never overly full and gross!
