Come here for the«hangerover ramen» formally the stone pot ramen. VERY yummmy, although there have been a few times where it was bland or too spicy. They use to have the spice level set automatically, or some waiters dont ask and others make you choose. 9 times out of 10 it comes pre determinded so there have been times ive ordered incorrectly and couldnt taste anything in the soup because the spicyness was too overpowering. Even when I try to ask the waiter to spice it how they normally would they look confused and still make me choose a number! So that kinda sucks. Service can also be REALLLLYYYYYY slow here, Like crazy slow, I often dont come eat here because I dont want to wait 30 minutes for my meal to come out. But I keep coming back because overall the ramen is really delicious and I like that it comes vegan. Yummmyyyyy suraaaaa oh and they have outside seating for your furry friends yay!

I have been a Long Beach local for 21 years(basically my whole life) and I have passed this place one too many times to even notice it. I honestly didn’t even know that this place existed! Considering it to be small, we came to the right place for a really good price. A really good friend of mine(who happens to be Korean) came to pick me up and we couldn’t decide what to eat for dinner. So we used Unilocal and it showed us this place being the closest, because we didn’t want to go too far. Our impression was«okay it’s in downtown LB, might be a small place.» Or «alright let’s hope it isn’t expensive». So we arrived to this place(the parking is in the back with two sides, you can choose to park left or right) and mind you, it’s narrow but that wasn’t a problem. Walked in and it was a welcoming atmosphere! Friendliest staff with beautiful smiles, and very attentive. They sat us down immediately, gave us our menu and had given us the right amount of time to figure out what we wanted(it was honestly our first time there). Wide variety on the menu, had traditional and classic dishes from Korea. Menu ranges from hot teas, iced teas, bobas, slushies, soju, wine and beer to kimbap, hangover ramen, cold or spicy buckwheat noodles, wings, side dishes, kimchi, and dumplings(trust me, there is a lot more). Another great thing about this restaurant is that they have take out as well! Anyway, I ordered the bulgogi deluxe fries(the only picture I could get because I was so hungry lol) consisted of bulgogi(marinated beef), korean salsa, french fries topped off with cilantro and cotija cheese. Every bite was a crispy, succulent and chewy tongue pleaser. Soon after, the longer we stayed, the more busy we realized it got. Then I realized people come for taco tuesdays AND thursdays there. Price is very reasonable, affordable but not cheap, and also a generous heap of servings! So be careful how you order, might be a huge portion! But anyway! I will come back for more for when I’m in need of a Korean food fix!

Their tea was super bitter and overly brewed. Their food though was decent and they give you an unbelievable huge amount of food. Their location is a little small but they provide you with huge TV screens to distract you from talking to your friends.

it’s good if you’re not expecting the usual korean tastes… I ordered kimchi jjigae from here as well as the dumpling soup. they each tasted odd like the stew base was made from tomatoes rather than kimchi. the banchan was really salty, too. another time I ordered kimchi fried rice and it definitely ranks low. on a positive note, their chicken katsu was good and so were the pork tacos. kimbap is decent but for the price, and the taste, the quantity isn’t much. :-/

Long Beach is not really my cuppa tea. I don’t enjoy going there for any reason whatsoever, aside from indulging in a delicious, steamy-hot and spicy soon tofu from Sura. When I used to live downtown, I was starting to doubt that there was any decent Korean restaurant within a reasonable distance to be able to take the train and walk… And then I found this adorable little, tiny tofu restaurant The owner is a small older Korean woman who damn sure knows her ban-chan: Korean side dishes, made to be enjoyed with your meal but I can’t help myself from engulfing most of it before my food comes. So I ordered the mushroom soon tofu at a level 7 spicy and I think that was juuust perfect; if not, I’d kick it down to a 6 because my mouth was pretty firey towards the end of my meal(this is coming from someone who lovvvvess spicy food only). It came with a side of steamed white rice and I also tried their Tiger Tea that they had on special. They offer, aside from their not-too-shabby list of beers and soju cocktails, a wide selection of pretty much any boba drink you can think of, and tea and coffee! The service is excellent every time, even the modern semi-upbeat music is enjoyable, and my meal came out to be about $ 12. How can you beat that?!

Worth. Parking situation is awkward, and the building looks a little janky. but worth the try. I come here almost every week for their $ 1 Taco Tuesdays & Thursdays. Quality stuff. The servers are super friendly here. Got off on the wrong foot with one of them over the phone, but really nbd! The inside is nicely decorated and furnished on the right hand side. I’d suggest not sitting on the bar/cashier side. I mean it should be fine, but I won’t say why cause I love this place. I’ve had Spicy Pork and Bulgogi Tacos, I like Spicy Pork best but I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff. So I can only handle like 4 tacos till I tap out. Bulgogi Nachos are bomb! The Crackin Wings are really good too. They have an Asian Honey Tangy flavor to them. I suggest if you like nachos, they have the melted cheese sauce! I’ve only eaten here once and I mainly get togo. I just wish they’d try to keep the fries from getting soggy in their togo boxes. Like cut holes in them and don’t tie the bag. Or put them on a tray like In N Out does. Otherwise they could be really good. Recommended.

I felt really sick but i was craving kirean food because my mom left and didnt make japchae like she said she would lol. But i order from postmates and got bulgogi bibimbap and pork belly kimchi stew. I saved the bibimbap for lunch tomorrow. But the pork belly kimchi stew was amazing. Better than my mom’s.(Dont tell her i said that.) The little spiciness. Yummy!!! Just the right amount for my sick self. Totally would recommend this place and order from her again.

This is the only Korean restaurant that I know of that offers vegan options. They even have a entire page for it in their menu which was implemented pretty recently. Kudos to them for doing this! Parking here can be tricky if you go during prime times but if you go around the busy hours, you can almost always find a spot out front on the street or the small lot in the back. This place has unfortunately been inconsistent every time I come here. Nothing horrible, it’s just sometimes the heat level isn’t always spicy as I like it to be(I usually ask between 6 to 8, 10 is the hottest) or the sauces which normally are thin, come out too thick. Sometimes the amount of food for certain dishes are less than what it was from previous times. I still enjoy the food nonetheless but just wish it would be more consistent especially if I’m going to recommend it to friends. I hate leaving a bad impression if they think my referral was wack. Haha I love the Shiitake ‘Shroom Fries and always order it when I come here. Sometimes the amount is less and sometimes it’s more. Maybe they should measure/weigh it out each time? I’ve had the ddubboki, it’s good but sometimes it can be really gummy and hard to chew. I’ve also had the Labokki which is the same except with the addition of ramen noodles. I’ve only had it once and the sauce was too thick for my liking and there wasn’t enough ramen noodles. The Japche is pretty good. I just tried it last weekend. It’s a simple dish. The steamed dumplings were alright, kinda bland for me and the filling is sorta like mush to me. However I did enjoy it in the tofu dumpling soup. Don’t get the tacos, they’re very bland & dull. If they marinated the tofu and vegetables then I might order it again to give it a second try. The bibimbap is so bland. You literally have to add anything and everything you can to make it flavorful. The rice is nicely crispy though. Even adding the tofu steak doesn’t help because that’s bland too. A note to the owners: please add seasoning to the bland items. Vegan food nowadays is really great and tasty. I know for a fact because I eat it everyday. I love flavor and just because it’s vegan doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to season your food. LOL! I like to support the mom ‘n pop restaurants and I’m leaving a 4-star rating because I appreciate their effort to offer vegan items even though I really feel they’re at a 3 to 3.5 star rating right now.

It was my first time there. Our waiter, Andrew was great. The food was awesome. I’ve ate at a few different Korean Restaurant, by far this place is the best. I ordered the Chicken Katsu and Sujo with OB. The chicken was just a bit dry, but it was still tasteful. I also had the seafood tufo soup. Of course spicy. Unlike Tufo House. This soup still held its flavor. Meaning I can still tast the soup not just the flaming hot spice. Must go again. Price is a little high, but for the quality of food, people, and atmosphere it was worth it. Let Andrew a $ 10.00 tip with change off the bill, but didn’t asked if he ever got it. Hope he did. I’m a food lover. Not a critic who went to school and study food flavors or to be a chef. Go to #Sura you will love it.

I always drive pass they place. So, we decided to try out their Korean taco and burrito. The parking in the back spaces are pretty limited and small. So parking pretty much suck. We went there right after work. Parked in the back and walked to the front. I ordered to go. We ordered two burritos and 6 tacos. Their taco comes in two per order. The Wait time was pretty longgggggg. As we sat there I noticed they were pretty busy. Customers kept coming in. One of the server seen overwhelm and looked super tired. She was always scrambling to her table and always seem like she was going to tip over. Finally we got our food, left, and drove off. When we got home, we were super excited to try out the Korean tacos. When I opened the box, there was ok 3 in there. MIND you, their taco only comes in two per order. So, I was upset, I called the place up. The person who answered was apologetic and said they will make the other three right away and add three more tacos. He said it was a miscommunication with the kitchen. Man… So, we drove back. Got there 15 minutes later and they gave us 6 more. By the time we got home, the foods were cold. Honestly, the Korean burritos was okay. They gave a lot meat in it. As for flavor not as good as Seoulmate on 7th street. Next time I just go stick with Seoulmate.

I love this place! The food is tasty, well prepared from good ingredients. They have lots of vegan options, and their meat dishes are excellent too. They have a great selection of beers and and lots of different kind of soju and boba. I recommend the soju bomb! The staff is excellent, and exceptionally friendly. It’s easy to feel like a cherished regular on your second visit. The atmosphere is also great, as the owners create their own playlists, and they have great taste.

Love love loooove the food here! Nearly all of the food I have tried here has been delicious! Admittedly I am not a fan of their tacos but I think that’s moreover a personal preference with fusion tacos in general. For all the vegans or vegetarians I definitely suggest checking out their vegan/vegetarian selection. They have a fat amount of options and you don’t lose out on the taste. Their vegan tofu soup is the best around. I have tried vegan tofu soup at 6 other locations and typically they taste watered down and throw in random veggies that don’t mix well with the soup. But not at Sura! The soup is so flavorful and taste identical to its non-vegan counterpart. I wouldn’t recommend getting their boba drinks if you want it right away. All three occasions when I have ordered my drink the same time as my food, they either forgot my drink or gave it to me while I’m on my way out. This place has really affordable prices for their portions and quality. Just like many places with delicious food and great prices the service can be lacking. Sometimes the service is great, super thorough, and quick, other days even if it’s a ghost town in the restaurant it’s slow, you don’t see the server for over 30 minutes, and you can ask for things such as a refill on your water like 3 times and never receive it. Overall I love this place and would recommend both meat eaters and non-meat eaters to enjoy a meal here!

Korean, Mexican, vegan… FUSION food here! You will leave here FULL&HAPPY without spending too much money! ;) Menu is diverse! Appetizers, they have your typical Korean appetizers like Japche, and then they have your«Ko-Mex» fusion choices, like bulgogi burrito, korean tacos, bulgogi fries, shiitake fries. By the way, TACOTUESDAYS&THURSDAYS are $ 1 tacos!!! — Tacos are your basic street size tacos, but they are packed with flavor! — I ordered the bulgogi fries. The fries were perfect in size & portion and CRISPY, they were a tad salty though. Bulgogi was perfectly sweet. & then there are the main courses. — I ordered the hot stone tofu bibimbap COMBO, an additional $ 7 with any tofu soup choice. I ordered the tofu & mushroom soup. Both were DELICIOUS. Not too salty, but it was filling! Basically, their food is GOOD. Vegan options are available too! I also loved their TIGERTEA, which is half milk tea & half thai tea with boba!!! It’s not too sweet and they serve it in a big cup! Boba was soft and chewy. I cannot stop talking about how good this place is! *** I had to dock off 1 star though because there’s not a lot of parking in the back lot. either that or you have to park on the street. && also, I don’t know if it was the area where we were seated at, but there was a strong stench, almost smelling like a homeless person or urine??? I just don’t know how to explain it. I hate to say that because I really do like this place. Sorry! Please ventilate inside the restaurant!!! Thanks!

Came in for the happy hour deals and to try those delicious tacos. To start the service was amazing, from start to finish our waiter was cordial and routinely checked in on us throughout our meal. We ordered about 10 tacos varying from the chicken, bulgogi, and pork. Added the nachos and tofu soup. Since my 5 yr old was a little picky we asked for plain nachos with cheese, to our surprise the waiter brought out our regular order of nachos with an extra plain cheese nachos. Wow very thoughtful and first class service. Aside from the service the food too was awesome. Each taco flavor had a nice seasoning to it and the soup was even better. The chips with the nachos were crunchy and didn’t have that soggy feel after adding all the toppings, almost seemed like they were freshly made chips. In all I was surprised to find this place to be as good as it was.

Since LB is lacking in Korean places, we didn’t want to go all the way back to Cerritos, even though Cho Dang is way better, so we decided to try out this place. First off their sides are slightly lacking. They only give you 5 sides. But I guess for the price it’s okay. I got the combo with the seafood + beef. The boyfriend got their bibimbap with the bacon soup. I would have to say that this place was pretty good. After I finished eating I was super stuffed, so this place is good for those of you who are super hungry! We also came during happy hour but decided against getting their happy hour items, because I was really craving some soup!

I came here for a Couch Surfer event. The staff here really went out of there way to accommodate us. Like for real, they did so much for us and made the event very memorable. They even extended their happy hour which was super cool of them. On the happy hour menu on Tuesdays and Thursday’s is $ 1 tacos. These are more so bite size and I would say a decent amount is 5 or 6. I tried the chicken, bulgogi, and tofu tacos. My favorite was the bulgogi. The tacos were delicious and I especially enjoyed the Korean twist with the kimchi on top and what I believe to have been gochujang(?). Either way it was sweet, spicy, savory, and hits all the right spots. I also had the lychee cocktail. It definitely tasted like lychee and was sweet(which I like) but still is enough to give you a good buzz. If you want something different and very very affordable, try this place out during their specialty hours. You’ll be glad you went. Oh, and to the restaurant staff: if you see this, thanks for a great night ;)

Was craving for comfort food and while I was driving back to hotel I saw a tofu house! Took a gamble and I’m glad I did Very cute restaurant reminded me of the tofu house in SF and Daly City but food wise La is so much better. Great customer service. Props to the waiter who was attentive and efficient. Food– ordered seafood tofu soup. So good! The difference at this place you choose the level of spiciness rather than tofu houses back north where you go by mild, medium and hot. I chose level 6 cause I like it mild but with a kick and definitely was the right level for me. +$ 1 for level 10 so it must be spicy! Standard dishes for your sides Would love to come here again if I am in long beach again. Easy parking They also do EaT 24 Prices are reasonable and portions are very big. I managed to finish my tofu soup by myself but I was starving! Clean restaurant and friendly service

Vegan mushroom soup lacking in flavor. It MAY have been because I got the 2 spice level. vegan kimchi was also a huge let down. I thought the hot bowls were not hot enough. Maybe some people are into rice not getting all crunchy, but my egg BARELY cooked. yikes! They were out of goose ipa on draft when i was there. Though there were some minor setbacks as a vegetarian, i think this place is very promising. The shitake mushroom fries were(theyre no botegea louie portabello feies but) still fried perfect. They did have a larger selection of beer, the server was kind enough to give us samples. The non vegan sides were good. ILLHAVETOCOMEBACKFOR A NONVEGANDIETANDREASSESS. FORNOW, heres a 3 star until i fufil my promise.

Vegan Korean food? I can bring ALL of my friends? Sweet! The service is lackluster, but it’s to be expected(plus it’s a small spot). The food is the selling point anyways. The assorted banchan was a fun dance for my taste buds. The sweet chili wings were the perfect balance of sweet and light heat. The fries were too salty for me unfortunately. =( I want to return and try more things!

Don’t let its location fool you. Not in the prettiest part of LB and parking is shitty. But once you’re here you’ll be glad you gave it a shot. Their menu ranges from bibimbap to tofu soup to bulgogi tacos. They have $ 1 Tacos every Tuesday AND Thursday! We weren’t in the mood for some tacos so we just ended up with an order of bulgogi fries, beef/seafood tofu soup and Korean bacon tofu soup. Don’t order the bulgogi fries. Lucky for us, we got it during happy hour for $ 6(og price is $ 9) but even then I don’t think it’s $ 6 worthy. It’s just regular ass fries topped with some sort of salsa, some pieces of bulgogi meat and cilantro. Womp. The tofu soup was good though! Loved that we were able to throw some ramen noodles in it. To top off the meal, I ordered the milk tea with Thai tea concoction. It as good! But waaaay too sweet. I’ll stick with one or the other next time.
