I think the 5 star reviews are from family and friends Felt like a healthy lunch while working in Studio City, went on Unilocal and this popped up. I think the chicken was from last week, and they warmed it up. Can’t tell what the creamed spinach tastes like, it was extra.

Goldie’s is my go to spot for chicken. Everything is made in house and tastes awesome. The Teddy Roosevelt baked beans have such great flavor I always have to get them. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good rotisserie chicken spot.

Goldie’s is affordable and delicious! It is like having a home cooked meal. You can tell everything is fresh and homemade. It might not be the prettiest restaurant, but it is clean and welcoming, along with a friendly staff. I enjoy eating there. The owner is very sweet and will be happy to give you samples if you are curious about something! :)

A great experience. It was a reminder what home cooked meal should really be like. The owner Dennis was there and it’s very obvious how passionate he is about the food, and it shows ! The chicken is great. The Cream of spinach is amazing, as well as the beans. The home made biscuits are delicious ! The rice pudding for desert was to die for. I am planning to go back for some more ! Thank you Dennis for the great service, for sharing your stories and most of all the amazing food !

Excellent food! Everything was amazing! Such great service too! Turkey was moist and so flavorful, as was the Mac and cheese and matzoball soup! My sisters loved the wings in the famous raspberry sauce too

Goldies has by far the best tasting chicken, baked beans and garlic potato I’ve ever eaten. if you have room for desert, they make reeces style dessert that will restore your faith in God. don’t let the owner scare you away, he can talk a lot. this place is worth it because the price is great compared to the portion. the food is all fresh and made in the kitchen. all the staff are very kind. I’ll be back. p. s. owner will probably give you samples… prepare for a palate enlightenment

The food is beyond words! I thought I was just going to pick up some ordinary rotisserie chicken, but nope! First you walk in, and if George is there, he will welcome you with a warm smile and I felt like he was a long time friend. He walked me through the selections, I’m starting with the chicken, I’ll go back for the jerk chicken and hot wings. So many sides! He gave me samples. which only made it harder to decide! There wasn’t one side I didn’t want. :) Don’t just limit yourself with the safe mac & cheese, try the creamed spinach, sweet potatoes and the Roosevelt baked beans and ask about how they got the recipe :). And then the deserts! The Apple Sauce is apple pie on a spoon and should be sold at Gelson’s. Needless to say I’m going back and adding this place to my go-to list. The only thing they don’t do is french fries, but if you want to add them, hit McDonalds after you pick up your food here :)

Don’t let the grim institutional lights sparse furnishings fool you. The food here is really good. I usually get ¼ or ½ white chicken with one of the types of stuffing and cole slaw. I will admit that it’s not as always as hot as it could be, so you may want to ask the staff what they can do about that. However, if you’re in pinch for a dinner to bring home to the family, I highly recommend this place.

Food here is great. The chicken and the beans are one of the best I’ve tasted. Chicken is always juicy and seasoned well. Even the white meat tastes good and I usually go for the dark meat. The beans are the best that I’ve had anywhere. They have meat and Lima beans(I think) in them, and is so tasty. The biscuits are heavenly. They are made fresh and a little seasoned with cheese. If they aren’t warm, just pop them in the microwave for about 10 seconds. I updated the review because I wanted to give a review of the food and not just the to go aspect. But they have messed up almost delivery. I just need them to be a little more careful when packing up these orders. We can’t go back and get it fixed once it’s delivered. But the customer has been great. They have been very nice.

I went here a month ago on a Sunday evening. But they were closed!(even though their sign says open til 9pm on Sunday) Naturally that was annoying. But my wife decided to roll by this past Sunday earlier in the day. Closed. Wtf? I was done with them. But wifey, being ever so forgiving to people who don’t bother to update their posted hours, decided to roll by there today(Monday) and boom! They’re open. The rotisserie chicken is so, so, so damn good. Wow. Really fantastic. Even the white meat had flavor. I f’cked that bird up. The sides were also good– pureed sweet potatoes, baked beans, rice, cole slaw, fresh cucumber pickles(although I didn’t care for the mac & cheese). This spot is definitely being added to our family dinner pick up rotation(but certainly not on Sundays)

I was super excited to try Goldie’s after reading all the reviews on here. I stumbled upon a coupon in a local magazine and figured now was the time. I ordered a full chicken, and requested it to be cut up. Then I saw that they served buffalo wings, so I went with an order of those and picked out a side of creamed spinach and a cold cucumber salad. The food was good. The chicken skin had a sweet garlic flavor, but the flavor seemed to stopped there. The meat itself was typical of any rotisserie chicken that I have tried. Creamed spinach was average, creamy but needed a bit more flavor. Buffalo wings were tasty. I prefer them to be fried and crispy, but a good rotisserie wing is never a bad thing. I did think the service here was really good. Both workers were very friendly and chatted with me while they prepared my food.

Goldie’s was good. Dinner time driving down Ventura. Rotisserie chicken craving. Dropped by and picked up a chicken to take home. Almost had a sweet BBQ flavor going on. Finger licking good. This is more of a takeout or super casual dine in spot — it connected to a connivence store. Guys behind the counter were very nice.

This place is freakin amazing !! Homemade side dishes definitely got me hooked. I ordered a turkey for some post — thanksgiving meals with my kids and it was fantastic. The Teddy Roosevelt baked beans were killer and the creamed spinach and garlic potatoes were unbelievable. Dennis the owner brings out the red carpet and Jose prepares the dishes with plenty of TLC . I definitely will be back

This place is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the ribs were amazing — fall off the bone amazing. The beans medley was delicious and the sweet potato side dish is to die for. The cucumber & onion side is great too. They offer slaw, beets, mac & cheese among other side dishes. Six ribs were $ 17.95 and seems a bit pricey but they were among some of the best ribs I’ve had. Three ribs run $ 14.95 but I would suggest getting one of the larger family meals if three or more are in your party. It comes out a bit less expensive. They also provide a flat screen TV for various sporting events. The turkey was comprised mostly of fatty meat and looked like table scraps. Other demerits for very uncomfortable hard seats, sterile and bland décor and having to listen to the«ding dong» of the front door because this place shares an entrance area with a liquor /convenience store. Probably a better idea to have the food delivered. Bottom line is the food is delicious but the eating area has all the charm of a veterinarian’s waiting room. This place could definitely benefit from a décor upgrade — starting with cushioned seating. The tongue and tummy are happy — the tush — not so much. Food — 4.5 stars Staff — 5 stars Décor /Ambience — 2 stars

Great food great service. I get the ½ white chicken. Great rotisserie style. The sides are all so good too. Tastes like authentic Home cooking. The creamed spinach and sweet potatoes are bomb. Came here two days in a row

When I saw this place on Unilocal,I was super excited to try it. Traditional Jewish food makes me super happy. Came here last week for dinner around 630 and I have to say, I was VERY underwhelmed. The place is located inside a liquor store. It was super empty when we were in there. The girl was hunched over the counter looking at her phone and talking really loudly to the other guys behind the counter. I was really looking forward to trying the matzah ball soup, but when I ordered it, they said they were all out of matzah balls. Really disappointing. We ordered potato pancakes with sour cream and homemade applesauce, a ¼ white meat chicken and ribs combo with Mac and cheese and baked beans, and the cheddar cheese biscuits. The best part was the homemade applesauce. Amazing. Other than that, the food would have been much better if it was either made fresh to order or at least served warm. The chicken was a little bland, the ribs and Mac and cheese were cold, and the biscuits were VERY heavy on the butter. Super greasy and a little stale. Bummer! The owner came in as we were eating and gave us free rice pudding for dessert. It was ok. Nothing to write home to mom about. Maybe we were just in there on an off day. I definitely will go back to try the Matzah Ball soup(I’m in search of a really good one in the area), but won’t be recommending this place to my friends. :(

Drove here tonight because I was too lazy to cook dinner. It’s a plastic container/fork kind of dive and their food is down home type cooking. I got the baked beans, creamed spinach and ½ chicken plate with an order of coleslaw to go. I ate half for dinner and will have the other half tomorrow night. Lowdown: chicken — moist, fall off the bone rotisserie baked beans — wow, just wow! but take note, vegetarians, these have meat in them creamed spinach — another wow, truly delicious coleslaw — the least wow, but still solid(I like super creamy coleslaw and theirs is much healthier!) Everything was hot and clearly made fresh today. I look forward to trying the other sides and will definitely be back. Big plus — the owner is a super friendly, portions are quite generous and they have a family meal deal: whole chicken with four ½ pint sized sides for $ 22 and change. For what this establishment offers, it nails it.
