This area of town is hella sketch. But seeing this little gem off a mom and pop coffee shop is uplifting. It’s CASHONLY. They make every effort to make you feel at home. I had breakfast here because I was at a work training and honest to god it made me feel that much better. I love when you can find family run businesses with simple food and great service, it hit the spot and it was quite affordable. Thanks for the free slice of bacon! :D

Came here after a 5k run and it hit the spot! They were cash only so had to run to the atm machine at the liquor store down the street. No biggie. Sat down, had a amazing service and awesome food. At the end of our meal the cook gave us brownies on the house and even offered to pay us the $ 2 fee that we had to pay in order to get the cash. We declined and said it was okay but seriously, how sweet is that?! Super cute mom and pop shop with such caring and friendly people. I love going to places like this because it supports the non-commercial/massive aspect of a business. Overall, comforting home food at a great price and even greater service/staff.

There is one requirement when I walk into a hole in the wall, good food. If I fear using the restroom, then you should serve good food. Although the gentleman who served me was beyond nice, the food was simply awful. Nearest Metro Station: Expo Line at the 23rd Street Station

Great diner food and excellent service. It’s got some unique variety offering traditional diner food alongside some good Chinese dishes.

The service was super slow. There were 4 of us for breakfast with about 2 other tables. It took almost an hour before our meals appeared. I had spicy beef noodles and was really disappointed as the spicy was really too tangy and not much spice, and the noodles were like curly instant noodles. The others had pancakes and the usual breakfast stuff and none of us was impressed. The location was the dodgy and scary part of LA. We won’t be back.

This place will has been a part of my family for as long as I could remember. .5 years old to be exact. I remember my grandmother would bring me to have lunch with my mom when she worked at DMV when it was on Jefferson and Grand

This place is truly the definition of a mom and pop shop. It’s the store on the corner of Grand and 28th, but it can still be hard to miss. When I was there, the sign actually said Kenny’s Coffee Shop? I hesitantly looked through the window and saw the cute little Asian man at the way back of the store waving me inside. But the inside menus and signs all said Seree’s so I guess I was in the right place. Décor is endearing. There are fake orchids in cute little vases on each table. There are also gaudy pictures of customers on the walls. There’s even a composite picture for a USC fraternity hanging on the wall? If they’re regulars, that’s adorable. I had combo soup #3, and it just hit the spot. It felt like a homecooked meal made with lots of love. The portion was large — they filled it to the brim and even had a saucer underneath to catch broth that spilled over the edges. The man working was very sweet. He brought me sriracha, soy sauce, onions, etc. all to the table. He even gave me a bottle of water for free. To come enjoy Seree’s, remember to bring cash!

Seree’s is a special place. The food is great, cheap, and made to order by the amazing owners. As one of the few authentic places around, it is truly an experience. The fried rice and noodles are flavorful and everything has a unique but satisfying flavor. Definitely worth a try

I’ve been eating here since I was a wee little boy(over 25 years) back when the restaurant was located at the Felix Chevrolet dealership across from USC. My dad’s been eating here since before I was born. It never gets old. The food quality is consistent and affordable, particularly for college students in the area(USC). My dad loves it(he goes way back with the owner). My wife loves it. My kids now also love it. The owners are super nice and have always been very pleasant and easygoing. Instead of supporting another Panda Express, Pei Wei, PF Changs or Pick Up Stix where the money goes to expansion and figuring out more ways to advertise in your brain, try a local eatery, such as this one, which has been a staple of LA for over 40 years. It’s no ritzy Beverly Hills Restaurant Row, but it sure is comforting.

A very humble and welcoming place. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. The family is very down to earth and I would recommend it to anybody looking for home cooked meal at a very inexpensive price.

First time I’ve ever been here and I’m more impressed with this small shop then bigger more expensive restaurants. I actually drove by this place three times while I was looking for it. So if your not actively seeking it out you’ll never see it. It like the restaurant is a Ninja and doesn’t want to be found but it’s worth the effort. I had the shrimp omelette with fried rice and toast, I know crazy, and it was delicious. They were not stingy with the shrimp either and super inexpensive. My whole meal with coffee $ 7. In any other restaurant when they add shrimp to a dish its like all of a sudden your the Gates family at Shea Onrie. Calm down its just shrimp not magic sea monkeys with the ability to reverse ageing. Any way this is my new favorite spot for the foreseeable future. BTW cash only.

This quaint mom and pop hidden store is amazing in its simplicity. Being CASHONLY, I only had $ 8 for the $ 8.50 bowl of noodles. But Seree was so sweet and told me to sit down when I insisted to go out to my car to get more money. I was feeling sick and hungry after having only eaten one sushi roll at 9am the day before. Then I found Seree’s and their HUGEPORTIONED hearty chicken noodle soup(Combo 2), loaded with Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, Vegetables, BBQ Pork and noodles in a clear broth. It was just the thing I needed and even in my starvation I couldn’t finish it all. The husband and wife duo are the sweetest people ever and genuinely care about you. As a USC student I felt like their kid being taken care of. They even gave me a Brownie at the end of it!!! Their food is not gourmet or fancy, its simple and nourishing, with oldies playing in the background.

Hello quaint thai coffee shop that has been around for several decades. You looked closed with all the bars around your window and no obvious shiny open sign. This place is hole in the wall(ie. charmingly ghetto), the owner will come out, talk to you with interest, and even open up about his shop that has been in the neighborhood for awhile. His sandwich with bacon was excellent. He’s cash only but was willing to shave off 1 or 2 bucks and even hooked it up with a diet coke. I was baffled by this gesture of kindness. I hope this hidden gem stays open for next time I’m in LA and in the mood for thai

Wow. This place was an amazing Thai breakfast. Definitely a divey place which gives it so much character. I could not say enough about the owners of this place. So nice and attentive. They’re both from Thailand so the food you’re getting is definitely authentic. The fried rice with over easy egg was delicious. Sausages weren’t that good, but the price of only $ 5 for the food and a Thai iced tea made it worth it. Will definitely return.
