I honestly love United. I travel once a year using this airline and I’ve never had any negative experiences. Staff is friendly and very attentive.

I got the opportunity to relax at this lounge before my flight last Friday. Here is the things that I love about this lounge: free and reliable wi-fi, complimentary snacks and beverages, clean restrooms and comfortable seating. I subtracted one star because the woman behind the front desk was a little short with me when I asked for the wi-fi password. She begrudgingly pointed to the sign that had the log-on information. Maybe it’s just me, but I expect to be treated well when I’m hanging out in a first class lounge. I don’t understand why this woman had such an attitude. I think she forgot that she actually works there and is not a member.

With a nearly 7 hour layover before my flight to Sydney(United Global First), I was looking forward to the conveniences of the United Global First Lounge in Terminal 7 at LAX. When I climbed the stairs to the lounge, I found a sign saying that it is now PERMANENTLYCLOSED. Turns out it closed the day before(10÷27÷14). Over the next two years(!), it will be transformed into a new United Club, leaving LAX with no United first class lounge. However, I did ask if I could use the Star Alliance Lounge in the Tom Bradley Int’l Terminal and they allowed it, although that meant changing terminals and going back through security twice before my flight. It was worth it though, the Star Alliance Lounge(the regular one – they wouldn’t allow me into their first class one) is great, nicer than the United Global First Lounge at ORD and waaaaay better than a regular United Club.

This is a little oasis tucked away upstairs from the main terminal. For the moment this is a lounge for first class international customers. It’s quiet, there is a lovely buffet and self-serve open bar, and a menu to order hot dishes. The staff is fantastic, the best of the best who are always willing to help with any concern or problem that arises. Rumor has it that this lounge will soon be transformed into a United club, but for the moment this lounge is the best kept secret of LAX, almost worth the price of a first-class international ticket.

Arrived in Terminal 7 and the United Lounge was right across from the arrival gate and my departure gate was just four gates down. Check in was quick and the employees were very friendly. This is the best way to wait for a flight. Plenty of comfortable seats, WiFi was very fast. Went up to the bar and had a complimentary Bloody Mary. They also had a great assortment of bagels, donut holes, cereal, coffee and tea. Get the United Plus Explorer Card to get two free passes every year.

I usually fly out on Sunday evenings(for my commute to Sydney). Rebecca is mostly working on Sundays who is my favorite. Red Carpet Club downstairs can be a zoo if you go there during peak hours, but Int’l First Class Lounge upstairs is never crowded. An club attendant checks your passport and escorts you to a boarding gate, and to a plane. This is helpful especially when a flight is full and boarding area is chaotic. All people who work there are very nice and polite. In the evenings, they usually have some hot and cold appetizers and soup along with self-served alcohol and non-alcohol drinks. You can invite one guest.

Love UA’s FCIL. They have nice views of the airport, tv’s, plenty of tables. Usually they have some sushi, sandwiches, cheese, crackers and bagel. They also have beer, wine, champagne, tea. A good place to relax before you long trip abroad.
