Boudreaux’s New Orleans Style Sno-Balls

Seriously and absolutely have a hard core love for sno-​balls even to the point that I actually own a small industrial sno ball maker and order flavored from a place in my families home-​town in Oklahoma. Was so thankful when this place opened that I almost actually wrecked when I passed it for the first time and saw the sign! Needless to say they know me here by now and I should get personal marketing props for how many customers I have sent their way ha! Love this place and my personal favorite is the Granny Smith Apple with Sno-​Sour!!!

Being from New Orleans and loving snoballs, I was anxious, to try this «authentic New Orleans snoball» place. I am often a skeptic, when I hear «authentic New Orleans», because I have been let down so often. The last time I had «authentic N.O. snoballs, and I wasn’t, in N.O., was in the Outerbanks. 2 bites and I threw it away; horrible ice and syrup.
That was not the case, with Boudreaux’s.
I am a bit of a snoball snob, having a cousin that owns one of the most famous and best N.O. area snoball stands; Sal’s.
Boudreaux’s ice was incredible. Not that awful Snow Cone stuff. The syrup was also good. It was crazy how I left my ½ eaten snoball, in the hot car, while I ran in a store and when I came back there was not juice to drink through the straw, but the ice was all juicy and flavorful. I do like drinking the juice, but I wasn’t disappointed. I want to go back and try different flavors.
My favorite N.O. snoball flavor is chocolate and I did not see it listed. I might be able to hook the owners up, with great chocolate snoball syrup, if they are interested!
Only one small negative comment. The cashier was not «authentic N.O.», she would have been friendlier.

Perfect summertime treat! So refreshing and cold. Authentic New Orleans snow balls. Plenty of flavors to choose. My favorite is rum flavor. I wish it was real rum but the flavor is dead on. Service is fast and friendly and the snow balls are a nice change from ice cream. Prices are right and there are plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy your treat. Keep an eye out for the location because it is a little hidden off the road.

Great location, price is right, and the texture on these snow cones is so awesome. It’s soft with tiny ice crystals, vs the larger pellets of my childhood. They have a ton of flavors, so I’ll definitely have to return to try more. My only complaint is that the honeydew flavor was reminiscent of root beer. It was a limited-​time flavor, so maybe that’s why they were discontinuing it? I wish I’d gotten some of the evaporated milk to make it a root beer float!
