The waitress was rude. She didn’t look at us while speaking… once seated we watched the staff stand around chatting with each other for 5 minutes, no one approached to take our order or ask if we had any questions. We left.

If I could give a lower score than 1 star I would. FIRST, We ordered two soups one chicken noodle and one vegetable soup with added chicken. She came back with two soups both of them which were chicken noodle. Then we brought it to her attention about the vegetable soup and she said«no problem» came back and put lettuce in it. After we complained she goes that’s not what you said, after we specifically said vegetable she came back with another soup after 10 minutes and said«that’s going to be a couple dollars extra» well how much is extra? An over view of the soups: absolutely tasteless. Hot water with chicken and stale noodles. Which she charged 4.75 for… NEXT, we ordered egg rolls for appetizers with our soups we asked what’s in it and her response was«nothing suspicious» I don’t know what that means I wanted to know what’s in it regarding ingredients. NEXT, we ordered our sushi. I absolutely HATEEEE cucumber and specifically asked 2 times to make sure no cucumber and even crossed it out on the menu and she came back with the«sushi» that was horrible I may add & what you might of guessed it had cucumber In it. FINALLY, we ordered our main dishes that were almond chicken and broccoli and shrimp. I asked for an order of sesame chicken sauce on the side she said we can’t do that, unless it is extra, which everything is. Which isn’t a problem I understand a business but you don’t have to say it with attitude. The almond chicken wasn’t bad but could of been better. But the shrimp and broccoli was smothered in the sauce and was not edible. FINALLY, she counted the total of the cash we left for the bill in front of us. Over view: first and last time to this location. The food did not meet to expectations

No real excitement over anything we had. Sushi was not worth $ 10 a roll, have had better. We get the bill and I feel robbed by the total. Likelihood of coming back here is very slim.

Meh… The décor is very outdated even the pictures hanging on the walls were all crooked. Three different waitresses stopped by to get our drink orders, that part was confusing as all heck. Soooo… It took about 20 mins to get my $ 7.00 glass of wine after I ordered it. I seriously think she was stomping the grapes in the back while I waited. The food wasn’t as plentiful as you get at Sagano’s. I mean it was tasty, but not the same. The worst part, they don’t have Yum Yum sauce! That’s the main reason for my visit. I literally coat everything in the Yum Yum sauce. Drats. I won’t be back here anytime soon :/

Not the best experience I’ve ever had. The service was lacking, big time. After we were seated around the hibachi grill, it took at least 10 minutes for our waitress to finally come over to ask us for our drink orders. Kind of an awkward situation when you are seated around a grill with strangers also at your table. The food was fine. Typical Shogun food. No complaints with that at all. The bill, however, was completely wrong. At first we were given a bill without one of our entrees on it. Then, I alerted the waitress to the mistake. Upon her reprinting the bill, she also added on an ADDITIONAL entrée that was from the group next to us, as well as a drink of theirs. When I then tried to explain this to her, there was definitely a language barrier issue. She was frantic and telling me that she had to take care of other tables. I wasn’t demanding her attention, or expecting her to address my bill while neglecting her other tables. Frankly, it was as if she was just trying to gouge for more money. It was very frustrating, and the hassle wasn’t worth the food quality.

My family and I went here. They accommodated a request for General tsao’s chicken with no breading. The remaining dishes were so so. The portions are fairly small and prices medium. We were shocked to see 18% tip added to the bill for 6 of us. The services wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. What makes them work hard if they are guaranteed a tip? We will not be back unless we have a coupon and go for the hibachi.

We had Christmas Eve dinner here and the food was delicious. It was reminiscent of Golden Harvest or East Lake. The prices for the portions were spot on and the staff was very friendly. The group of 10 that we had were all full after our 8 course dinner. There was a little hiccup at the end when we had to pay the bill. I wanted to use cash to pay part and put the rest on my card. The cashier ended up under charging me and then later on, a few days later, I saw that Shogun went back and upcharged me what they were shorted on. I only signed for them to take out a certain amount. I didn’t feel that was right as it was the cashier’s fault. I’m not sure if I would like to return.

I went here a while back with some friends for sushi. We observed the«chef» sneeze into his hands and continued making the sushi without washing his hands. The quality of the other food items were below average. I would not recommend this establishment.

The food is good so I would advise getting carry out… But DONOT sit down to eat. The service is down right horrible and my boyfriend got instantly depressed as we sat down on the dining room.

Don’t ever get dinner for 2 if one of the dinners is gluten free. They have to make both meals gluten free. So disappointed. If I was told that, we would have ordered something else.

Honestly I wouldn’t even give it one star! I have never been to a restaurant with such rude employees as Shogun! The waitress appeared to be annoyed that we were there, and the employee cooking our food could have cared less if we enjoyed our food or not. We had a friend arrive late to eat, the cook was still working on our food but the rude waitress told her she couldn’t sit with us that she needed to sit at the next table… really? She was never even offered a solution such as ordering off the regular menu so sadly she felt uncomfortable and left! How sad is that? The food was not good, over priced and the employees are rude so I suggest heading down the road to Osaka’a where you are made to feel welcomed and they value you as a customer. Better food and atmosphere! Shogun I will never be back!

Rude server. Seemed annoyed by our presence. Group of 10 at lunch. Only a few others in entire place. Hibachi chef never cracked a smile. We tried interacting with him and he ignored us. Went to push my chair in and hands came out with some sticky goo. Charged for soft drink I didn’t have. Tip was automatically added to bill. Haven’t been here in years and now I remember why.

On a Sunday around 5pm to be seated right away first made me super happy ! The hibachi griller was amazing such a great guy! We laughed the whole time and had fun. The food comes in such huge amounts that you have food for days. The ladies clearing the plates and refilling drinks were super nice and sushi was great:)

My husband and I were hankering for some Chinese for him sushi for me. We had a groupon that said good for Asian food. However, a note on the door indicated it was for Japanese only. Oh well, he’s flexible. He opted for teriyaki chicken. I the Red Wings roll. We shared a plate of veg tempura. Apparently, when you get hibachi, you also get Miso soup and the salad with ginger dressing. When you get sushi, you get nada. Nada isn’t a Japanese side. It’s nothing. The tempura batter was sweeter and thicker than I’ve had before. It was decent but with the thick batter, the veggies were almost indistinguishable. They put on a great show of stir fry. The chef adroitly handled chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops and lobster and veggies. The most amazing part? The 3 people at our table messing with their phones while the chef flipped and flinged their food. The sushi was good though seemed a tad pricy($ 10)for what it was-spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and avocado. I’d like to see some more unique rolls like at Osaka down the street. Plus, you start to feel real left out when everyone else at the table is getting layers of food piled on their plates and you have one little sushi roll. My husband really enjoyed his teriyaki chicken and fried rice. Overall, go for the hibachi show and for Pete’s sake people put down your phones for one measly hour of your lives.

Absolutely terrible. My wife had a few bites of sweet and sour pork and said it tasted disgusting. She then got sick from it and vomited. This is completely unacceptable standards for a restaurant. I urge anyone reading this not to get food from here. I hope good inspectors come here and shut this place down.

This is a family favorite of ours because everyone can get something they like. We usually order Chinese, sushi, and soup during our visits. We have always enjoyed our food. Generous helpings of Chinese meals are served and sushi rolls are ample as well. Everything is freshly made with quality ingredients. A good variety of sushi is on the menu, though perhaps not as many original or unique varieties as elsewhere. If enjoy spicy sushi, you will not find it here. The spicy tuna roll, for example, did not have that kick that is desired. The Rainbow Roll is exceptional and highly recommended. If coming for a holiday, I suggest making a reservation. Service can be wonderful or sub par. It just depends. We have never been upset with our sevice.

This is a restaurant that we regularly go to, they have hibachi, sushi and a dining area with chinese cuisine. We’ve only done hibachi there once and it was ok. I’m not really a fan of hibachi myself. We regularly get the sushi there and it’s pretty good. Our favorites are the Rainbow, philadelphia and alaska roll. Another favorite menu item there is singapore noodles which they make a great version of plenty of meat and vegetables with the rice noodles. The only complaint that I could possibly make about this restaurant is that the service is sometimes lacking. After finding out that another local sushi place used rice flour in the tempura we asked our waitress what kind of flour was used in the tempura.(My wife has gluten sensitivity issues). She replied that she didn’t know. We asked if the sushi chef might know she said«he no know that either». Unintentionally hilarious we still joke about it to this day. Suffice to say we go there for the food which is always good and the spotty service is expected.

Good sushi, atmosphere is very nice. Get a good amount of food for your money. Service was very good when we went. You can make reservations online but I doubt that you ever need them.

Went here with family before Christmas. Unfortunately, 2 stars was about right. First of all, the place was dark and kind of dingy. Not really the type of place I want to be when I’m eating sushi. Service was friendly enough and she was ok with us waiting for family members who were running late. Sadly the sushi was pretty mediocre. We ordered a pretty wide spread– salmon rolls, rainbow rolls, a few fried rolls, etc, and none of it was really outstanding. Hubby and his dad got one piece of sushi that tasted really off, but the rest were all right. Nothing really special but most of it passable although it didn’t sit particularly well. As for the teppenyaki, that was pretty ordinary as well. Certainly not worth the price tag.

I use to be such a fan of this place. So much so that I would stop there 3 times a week on my way home from work for a sushi carry out. This place had changed. The quality of the food is not what it use to be. They have no attention to detail. The last 2x we ordered carry out it was wrong each time. When calling back to discuss the matter they told me I was wrong. There are a few other Shoguns in the Macomb County area that are far better than this location! If u are looking for a hubachi or sushi, I’d go to Osaska down the road or Ichiban. Better quality of food, price & service.
