The first time we came to Jerry’s was 2006. It was really good back then. We went back a few times over the years, and it progressively got worse. Found out it was sold a few times. Now it makes sense. Now it’s closed. Saw that coming… Hope someone reopens it, and runs it properly. Should be a Gold Mine!

We should have listened to the reviewers and not gone. .but we were in a hurry and it was across from our hotel so we took a chance. First, their menu is abnoixiois! And not in a good way. In a way where they are overwhelmed and don’t do any one thing that well! I’ll spare you the gritty details(like watching the waitress in the kitchen drop the nachos on the counter and scoop them with her hand back on to the plate and serve them to a table!!) To the horrible, slow service and(overpriced) food. I will say, if you must go. skip the billion items on the menu and order the Napoli pizza and add pepperoni.

We went there specifically because they had a happy hour that lasted from 4 – 11. However there was no bartender available and we were told there wouldn’t be one for another hour. We stayed and waited patiently. We ordered food: I ordered a Ruben, one of my friends ordered the cheesesteak, my other friends both ordered the seafood platter which was disgusting might I add. It had previously frozen shrimp and fish which was definitely a HUGE turn off being that they are soo close to the marina. The Resturant is huge with a lavish bar however the food was not that great and the staff were so so. They seemed nonchalant about the bar being close even with the huge advertisement of their happy hour outside their main entrance. Over all my friends and I were very disappointed.

We came here with a party of 10 people, and before deciding on Jerry’s I read some online reviews, so I was a bit worried, since we had kids and seniors in our party(and they tend to be more picky about food options), and also about price, since 10 people can run up a nasty bill. But overall the experience at Jerry’s was good, here are my points: — Our waitress was great. I forgot her name, but she was a young black lady that was very attentive and always had a smile on her face. If anything was wrong she immediately apologized and fixed it. — The hostess was also very nice. We stayed till closing time(11pm), and she walked us to the door and asked us many questions about the food and service, she really appeared concerned that we had a pleasant diner experience. — We ordered many different things, but mostly pastrami grilled sandwiches, which were very good. Sure they are a bit greasy, but it is Pastrami! It is supposed to be like that. We also had a Cesar salad, Matzo ball soup, chocolate chip pancakes, onion rings, etc. All good. — Yep, the price is a bit high, but as others commented here: it is SoBe. Rent is high, cost of doing business here is high. Our bill was about $ 22 per person(including several beers!), so it is acceptable for the area. Conclusion: was I lucky by getting this particular waitress? Was the cook in a good mood when he prepared our dishes? Maybe, but it is undeniable that it was a good experience for us, Recommended.

Going to this place was a pretty weird experience. Where to begin… My boyfriend and I went in around 11pm on a week night so maybe these aren’t their best hours? I don’t know. Anyway, our waiter made me feel pretty uncomfortable. He was abrasive and indirectly called my boyfriend gay for wanting a regular pastrami sandwich instead of a reuben. I wouldn’t really consider this good service. The food is average at best. I order a tuna salad wrap and I guess my boyfriend gave in and got the reuben. This wrap tasted like any other tuna wrap from a crappy diner. It wasn’t totally inedible, but it wasn’t doing it for me. The reuben was extremely greasy, which also made the bread soggy and disgusting. To top it off, their prices are kind of outrageous for what they’re serving. I really wish we didn’t waste any of our precious vacation time at this place. Go to La Sandwicherie instead.

This place is good, but pricey! It was $ 80 for 4 people getting breakfast food. The food would have cost $ 30-$ 35 max at ihop. Unfortunately, this is the only place like this around the area, so you kinda have to go if you want a decent breakfast.

One star is one too many!!! The food is below average, service is the worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant, the manager a complete moron! My niece ordered turkey bacon dish, the waiter messed up & brought over a ham dish, after letting him know that is not what she ordered, especially since she doesn’t eat pork, he took it to the manager & he refused to change it, take it off the bill or remake some thing else, his words were, «you order, you have to pay for it.» That was the second chance we had given them, but will never be back!!!

Well, to try and start things on a positive note: the reviews are accurate. If you read before coming here, you shouldn’t be surprised at what you get. Unfortunately, what you get isn’t very good. Oh, positive note over. I didn’t want to come here. It was getting late and I needed to arrange a last-minute meeting. Without many available options, I chose Jerry’s and readied myself for what was to come. That was about the only thing ready at Jerry’s. It took nearly 20 minutes to even be waited on… in a nearly empty restaurant. Again, had I been expected more, I would have been upset. As it was, it was par for the course. Our wait staff changed over in the forty(about an hour total given the initial wait time) minutes we were there. Each new waiter brought a longer wait. Knowing better than to get food here, we opted for a liquid diet. Two beers, a whiskey and a coffee = $ 44. I looked at the bill, looked up, looked at it again, shook my head, laughed a little, said ‘getthephookouttahere’ under my breath, paid the damn thing, and vowed never to come back. Though, I have to take some ownership. The reviews are accurate. I knew better. Sad to say that Jerry lived up to its reputation.

Nope… it’s not A-OK anymore. Just OK but not worthy of the 3rd star. That’s too bad. Jerry’s has always been pricey for what you get but hey… it’s South Beach. You don’t come down here to save money. The menu is gargantuan but they have removed some of the old standards. The food is ok but not at all worthy of the price. The service is kind of grouchy. I’ve been to Jerry’s about 5 times out of convenience and am always left feeling like, «well that was a rip off, but I’m no longer hungry.» Definitely just ok. Do yourself a favor and walk a couple more blocks and go to La Provence.

Poor service and the food is completely nasty. I ordered an omelette and it wasn’t even cooked all the way. How are you a famous known deli and you don’t take pride in how your food is prepared and serviced to customers? The waitress kept forgetting things. Just horrible. Did I mention the FOODISHORRIBLE??? Don’t waste your money eating here!

Was here 5 years ago and loved the onuon rings so much that this was our first stop on our return to the area. Couldnt find a parking spot with two bikes attached to the truck so we illegally parked next door so we needed to sit outside and watch out for the tow truck. Bad mistake because we had to wait 25 minutes for our server to appear. He appologized and from that point on he well represented. Wife ordered the California melt but they were out of bacon which the sandwich needed. Dollar for dollar she probably would have preferred the ruebun instead. I had the patty melt. It was thick but dry and the onioms were to big for the sandwich. We both had onion rings and it curbed our future desire for a return vusit.

Yes, the prices are a little high, but that’s because it’s on Collins &14th Street in South Beach! Are you expecting regular middle– America diner prices inside a gargantuan Art Deco multi-million dollar real estate? The portions are enormous, beyond what any normal human can consume, and they serve Yuengling. The service was a little slow, but who even cares?

I’ve been coming here since I lived on the beach a decade ago. The food has always been consistent and the waitstaff, while occasionally aloof(you’re on SoBe, that’s just the way it is. And waiters here are better than most other restaurants on the beach) they are generally eager to please. This place is a south beach institution and the matzo ball soup has cured every ailment I’ve ever had; from hangovers to colds to broken hearts. I will always come back when in town. Much love.

Mediocrity at its best. This«deli» if you want to call it that, is more like a giant cartoon smörgåsbord. The menu is too big to prepare all the items well, so what you get is mediocre, at best. However, the lady who works the bakery/to-go counter is their saving grace. She is kind and always tries deliver the best possible product. Large cupcakes for the price, but nothing to write home about. Over $ 15 bucks for a whole sandwich is just ridiculous.

On my trip back to Miami, I offered to pay for lunch when we hit up South Beach, and this was a mistake because my father HAD to go to Jerry’s Famous Deli. What makes it famous? It’s overpriced, the service sucks, but hey the menu is huge. That has to count for something right? Actually the combination of poor service and huge menu worked in our favor as it took us at least 10 minutes to look over. The only good thing about the service was that the first thing she did was give us water. For the record, this is one of those places that doesn’t have sweet tea, which is also a travesty. After a while, my family settles on the various sandwiches –Dad: Corned Beef. He was happy. –Mom: Whitefish Salad. She picked out bones –Me: Chicken Schnitzel: It was ok –Sister: Brisket Au Jus Panini. Only 5 minutes after the rest of us got our food, and without the Au Jus. As much as I loath South Beach, this is just another reason for me not to attend, especially with the family.

This place was god-awful. First thing, it smelled like an airplane bathroom. How do I know what an airplane bathroom smells like? Simple. I am one of those unfortunate people who have to use those disgusting things a million times during a 2 hour flight and being that I just fly in to Miami the day before, well, let’s just say the smell is distinct and very memorable. Second, our waitress(who was really nice and so pleasant) listed off a dozen things that were on the menu but the restaurant did not have. Made sense. How can you possible have everything when your menu was no less than 10 pages? Really, you ask? 10 pages? Yes, really! So my friends ordered and I opted for really bad coffee since I had ZERO confidence in a place that smelled like stale urine and had a menu the size of Novella. The extra star is my thank you to this place for forgetting to charg me for bad coffee.

I’ve dined here before on a previous trip to South Beach. Popped-in for breakfast on this trip and it was a very, very long wait for even less-than-mediocre food, and our server was unfriendly and rude. This establishment & experience right here is why I’ve historically disliked Miami. I doubt I’ll ever go back to eat at Jerry’s. Just not worth the time or money.

After a fun night, we needed a Happy Birthday Breakfast for my sister. After all the light meals, we went with the full on brekky. With one of every beverage to replenish the body ~ we needed two coffees, two waters and please… two mimosas. That’s when the Birthday fun began. As we ordered our breakfast — we casually mentioned that we were celebrating my sister’s birthday. That’s when the shots came rolling in. The nicest staff and I think owner, kept sending specialty shooters. I think we had about 4 or 5 each. I ordered the Florentine and my sister had French Toast with eggs and bacon. The food was delicious. The home style potatoes were cooked perfectly and they had this Cholula Lime Hot Sauce that was really tasty with my eggs. We finished off our meal with two more mimosas and we were officially buzzed for breakfast. I think we sat there for at least two hours, laughing, eating and drinking. We were super happy and went over to thank the nicest staff for making our morning. Not only was the food really good, but the service was incredible. No wonder Jerry’s so famous. ;)
