I have a very specific palate when it comes to Rosa’s. I’ve never had anything other than their Sicilian and likely won’t ever vary my ordering, since I know I’ve found a winner. The squares are similar to L&Bs with a perfectly crunch crust with sauce ladled over the cheese. Not too shabby for $ 2.50 per slice. Even though the squares are good, I can understand other people’s frustrations. The counter man — an old, half deaf Italian man, is eminently grumpy and difficult to communicate with. Also, the fact that in the 21st century that a popular pizzeria doesn’t take credit is ridiculous. Even with that being said, I continue to return to Rosa’s because the food is ultimately what matters in a takeout establishment. I can deal with the less than friendly service and the single-payment method for a quick lunch on the run.
