Awesome experience. The barista was super friendly and totally made me an iced honey espresso latte… Definitely not on the menu and SOO good! Sending much love from LA for hitting the spot today with that latte!

Kudos to whoever opened on 6⁄14. She is top tier. Well versed in the transition of the business and very genuine. Thank you for the coffee and the conversation. You made my day

Pretty tasty. The drip coffee was delicious and I liked the ambiance on the weekend as there are a lot of pedestrians walking around the street giving it a very neighborhoody vibe. And there was still plenty of seating on the weekend.

This is a great spot to read a book, study, work, or meet with friends. It’s the perfect size, with plenty of tables and lounge area. The staff are friendly, the coffee and food are good, and the crowd consists of people from all walks of life. I will be coming back.

Great little coffee place. Friendly staff and large central table for a work space. Pour over coffee was great!

I take a lot of work meetings at local coffee shops and ended up at Bull Run. I skimmed though the reviews beforehand and I was admittedly nervous about the customer service. I hate walking into a coffee shop and getting the feeling from the barista that I have ruined their very important conversation or book while they happened to be getting paid. Thankfully, my experience at Bull Run was pleasant and I would happily return! Both individuals behind the counter were very friendly. To avoid separate small card transactions, I paid for my in house Americano and one to go and there was no issue. The place was clean and had plenty of space to sit. There were the typical computer uses, meetings, casual visits, etc. I would like to try the food next time I’m in the area but for now I give this spot(and the Americano) the stamp of approval.

The Nicolette location has become my new favorite. I almost always get the breakfast burrito with chorizo! Super delicious. Although I love it, the taste of the burrito seams to change every time. This might be due to different people making it, but I’m not sure. However, I’ve never been disappointed with it! This is not a a negative thing to me either! I like that the taste varies each visit. It’s aaaalways delicious.

EDIT: Received a message from the manager at this location apologizing for the bad experience and felt it was very genuine. I’ll give Bull Run another chance. Go here if you want to be treated like a second class citizen by snotty baristas and rude customers! Brought my out-of-town parents here for coffee after lunch at Revival across the street because I wanted to show them«the best coffee in the city!» The vibe was awful from the second we got in. We were immediately greeted with judgy looks from the sullen barista who failed to even say hello, simply slouching behind the counter and staring at us reproachfully like we had just told her we were voting for Trump. My mom wanted to try one of their specialty drinks, so she spent ~1 minute looking over their menu. The barista glared at her judgmentally the whole time, never offering help or recommendations, and some hipster bro who’d been standing behind us for MAYBE15 seconds asked loudly, «Do you know what you want yet???» The barista never said a word during the whole ordering/paying exchange, she just angrily started making the drinks while we stood there wondering what we did to incite her wrath. And to top it all off, my extremely generous mother tipped her despite receiving the most unfriendly service ever. Ms. Holier Than Thou Barista watched her put money in the tip jar and then went to make Impatient Hipster Bro’s refill, obviously without thanking my mom for her totally unnecessary generosity. I guess it’s my bad for not wearing my oversized glasses and cruelty-free vegan leather boots that day, and my apologies to Bull Run for bringing my country-dwelling, Starbucks-drinking parents to their coffee shop thinking they would receive the same service that the fixed gear bike riding bearded hipster bro receives. Luckily, I live across the street from Urban Bean so I could bring them to a place that serves great coffee AND actually cares about their customers.

$ 5 gets you a generous portioned breakfast. Coffee is a little pricey but refills are only 50 cents. The place is spacious — decent amount of work space for meeting with others. Nice people behind the counter.

Unfortunately, the customer service at the Nicollet location is too variable. For half my visits, staff are helpful and friendly, and for the other half, staff are grumpy, seem annoyed with questions, and act like they wish they were someplace else. I think it’s particular staff, rather than all staff(I have had terrific service here), but why not hire folks who really enjoy the work? I know you probably get the same questions all day, or get tired toward the end of your shift, or whatever, but try faking it like the rest of us. It’s happened too many times here, so I’ll try back again in the spring. The coffee is very good though, so you got two stars… :/

I have been back to try it again. It’s so close to my house I want to love it the way I used to love anodyne but I just can’t. Still, it is probably deserving of 3stars. Looks like they did away with the grab n’ go salads(bummer) but you can still order food(allow time) and this past time I went in the barista was better than the previous encounters I have had.

They have Sift gluten free donuts! I adore these donuts. I am not gluten free, but they are baked, not fried(practically a vegetable, really). I got a regular coffee and it wasn’t great. Tasted like Starbucks, which I don’t like. Specialty drinks might be more of their thing. Like the location and the neighborhood. I like the other Bull Run atmosphere though. Customer service was fine.

Not only is the coffee great but their breakfast food is also tremendously tasty. I would imagine this place will satisfy every self-proclaimed coffee snob in the Twin Cities, so definitely check ‘em out! …oh and they serve Sebastian Joes ice cream!

The baristas are the nicest, friendliest people around. They make great coffee drinks and are happy to find the drink that is right for you. The space has charm, the music is good, the internet fast, and the bathrooms spacious. What else do you want?

Do not hesitate. Definitely order the quiche here. I’ve had egg pie a couple times here(can we call it egg pie now?). It all started when the daily special was a bacon jalapeño popper quiche and I was skeptical as hell about it. The guy at the counter was freaking out about this quiche though, so he convinced me that it was going to be a good choice. It was a GREAT choice, counter guy. And recently I had the bacon, spinach green onion version and it was also delicious. It comes with peppery breakfast potatoes or mixed greens. Both are winners. It’s Bull Run 2, so all the coffee is(of course) wonderful. But I like the added bonus of the full kitchen… serving good food at that(ANDSEBASTIANJOE’S). And the staff here is always quite friendly. I do hope that they update the interior a little bit eventually, because it’s honestly about 97% the same as Anodyne, and it doesn’t quite fit with the Bull Run vibe yet. Other than that though, I couldn’t be happier to have this new go-to in Kingfield.

Awesome people working here! Great selection of roasted coffee, and vegan food options. Free wifi. Outdoor seating. They have a kitchen — I’ll come back to try the chili. Only downside was my almond milk mocha was $ 6+ ouch.

Came in to see the new floors, love the layout, design and location. I recommend a chocolate chip scone as they are always made the same day.

Solid coffee, cheaper than Starbucks and made with better ingredients. It’s a little slow service wise, though I would definitely say it’s worth the wait. Try the cappuccino for a quick, balanced and flavorful pick-me-up!

Didn’t realize there was another location. The space is kind of small but there was ample seating. Perhaps because most people are at work during the middle of the day. I could imagine it being pretty crowded during weekends. Interesting selection of music. Was really old school folksy? Not sure how to describe it but no complaints because it was upbeat and soothing. Could be decent music to study to. We got two of the specialty drinks. One with Nutella and the other was called Boones something. They tasted ok. The foam art was lacking though. Interior decoration was artsy. Emanated sort of a hipster vibe. Overall a decent experience but I was more impressed with the other location.

My wife and I are big fans of the Lyndale location, so naturally we needed to try out the new digs. As always, the coffee was top notch. She claims that they make the best lattes in Minneapolis and they have no letdown at the new place. If you’re a fan of the drinks at the original Bull Run then you’ll have no issues with the new locale. Where I took issue was with the customer experience. When I walked in there was no one behind the counter. When I walked up to order, two employees got up from their phones at tables in the store to(seemingly begrudgingly) take my coffee order. I know it’s no fun to work in a place with limited traffic, but it was pretty awkward with the amount of apathy they showed. Hopefully that has changed. We will be back for more great coffee and *likely* better service!
