Three words: peanut butter pandemonium. I am in love with this sundae special that is being offered right now! The long lines can be slow here during peak times, but it is worth the wait. Also, take note that sundaes come in 2 sizes and the small is more than enough to share. The large sundae is just asking for diabetes…

After a nice day at the beach with my boyfriend, we decided it would be perfect to end the day with some ice cream. We drove around for a minute or two and found Aunt Carrie’s. There was a long line outside, so you know it must be good. I would have given this place 5 stars, but they do not have soft serve :(. I was debating between two flavors and the girl let me try the one i was unsure about eating. I had the small pistachio, which small is definitely big enough, while my boyfriend had the small coffee oreo. Both were good, the pistachio has A LOT of nuts in it, i was expecting a lot less. The coffee oreo is very strong, but it was still good.

Delicious! Giant portions! The specialty sundae called the dirty fisherman was amazing.

It’s ice cream near the beach/beach houses. Prices are what you should expect for the area. Not sure if they make their own ice cream or not. They do have some flavor a you’ve never seen such as cow tracks or dinosaur crunch but they are just rebranded flavors(moose tracks and cake batter, respectively). They do have lots of parking and the girls hustle the best they can for the unrelenting waves of dairy seeking tourists flocking from the 2 clam shacks across the way.

Very pricey $ 2.70 ish for their single scoop ‘kiddo’ size. Looking for a butter pecan, they did not have but suggested a caramel pecan. Tasty but does not beat Brickley’s especially when considering the price. Staff very nice.

I came here for the first time back in July 2011 and came back last month while on vacation. I had a regular cup of the peanut butter chocolate which was alright it satisfied my craving for ice cream but I didn’t find it to be the best ice cream I have ever had. Later in the week I tried Brickley’s ice cream and found theirs to be more flavorful. The next time I come to Narragansett and I have an ice cream craving I will probably be going there. I also found their ice cream to be a little pricey.

This is a great spot to grab some ice cream close to the beach. As mentioned, parking is off street and in a big lot. It’s a quick walk across the street, down a path and you’re on a very rocky beach. It’s worth checking out. They have a number of picnic tables set up out front in area covered with mulch. The service here was very good. The staff was friendly. And was very patient as our group«ummmm…hmmmm…well…» placed our orders. There was a line when we got there, but it moved quickly. The ice cream here is good, however, it’s not a standout. But you’re near the beach, it’s most likely summer, so it’s more about the experience vs. going for amazing ice cream.

Parking and location are fabulous. They have plenty of picnic tables and are at a prime location to the beach. The staff is very pleasant as well. For the ice cream, they get it from Bliss and the Ice Cream Machine. The variety of flavors is wide and they also offer sugar-free, low-fat frozen yogurt, and last night had low-fat vanilla ice cream, which is what I had. I had it on a hot fudge sundae — traditional style with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. They put on plenty of nuts and a ton of whipped cream. So much that I think it’s what made the sundae extremely sweet. The hot fudge went over the edge and it was served that way, which normally makes me cringe but since I was eating it outside, it was acceptable. My daughter reports that her kids’ size ½ vanilla oreo and ½ cookie dough was very good. The oreo looked like it was chock full. The dish was rather small and they piled it over the top, so it did end up making a mess too. My husband had a Dell’s and he reported it was somehow off — maybe too watery. One thing we really didn’t like were the spoons. Both my husband and I had little cuts on our mouths they were so sharp. I would go back if we were in the same area and would probably get a cone.

My small vanilla and hot fudge sundae was enormous, like 2 – 3 scoops big. It was much too much. The ice cream itself was kind of hard and dull tasting. The hot fudge did what it could for the sundae. For $ 5 – 6 bucks, it’s a disappointment.

Stopped at Aunt Carries right before they closed for the season and LOVED the ice cream… So creamy, so tasty, SO delicious… ranks right up there in some of the best ice cream I can remember! Will DEFINITELY return next Summer!

After trying most of the local homemade ice cream shops in the area, I tried this one last night and… Brickley’s is still the best for flavor, texture and the homemade waffle cones. I had the Mocha Chip in a waffle cone at Aunt Carries and it was just way too sweet and no mocha flavor, maybe chocolate light but definitely no coffee flavor at all. I wanted to like it but after a stomach ache all night, I just won’t be going back. But the staff was friendly and fast so I gave it 2 stars just for them.

Rhode Island is chock full of ice cream shops. Aunt Carries had the best that I tried. Smooth, and creamy even for the the frozen yogurt, which I had in chocolate peanut butter cup, with a huge glob of peanut butter stuck in the middle. The Ice Cream shop is located directly across the road from Aunt Carries seafood restaurant.
