I was very impressed with the décor and atmosphere the restaurant had to offer when entering. The staff was very pleasant and our server was so warm and friendly. The food– AHMAYZING. We will most definitely be returning on our next adventure to the west side of town. I recommend the sweet potato tots and Oaxaca burger.

I’m a sucker for great fried potatoes. It’s like my test for a good Mexican restaurant: if you don’t like the salsa, you’re probably not going to care for the flavor of the rest of the menu. French fries and burgers? The fries here are primo. But, a fourteen dollar burger? No? And sideless? Ja. Still, we were curious enough to try the PRB. Tasty, but put your money to better use on the eight-dollar options. It definitely wasn’t worth the cash. I want my fourteen dollars. The poutine(poo-tan) called my name. I fell in like with poutine on a cold, rainy day in an Acadian neighborhood in New Brunswick half a decade back. The offering here is cheesy fries and fully undeserving of the Acadian moniker. And how is it that hipster kitchens burn eggs instead of cooking them? Please die, Hipster kitchens. Customers: just flip the burned sunny-sides far, far away(like to the table across the room) and eat the cheddary cheesy fries with a friend. But they ain’t poo-tan. Eggs, burnt or otherwise, don’t belong on poutine. Neither do cheddar cheese or chorizo. The table service was above the Nashwood norm. But, did I really give a flip about the rest of the menu? Your mileage may vary.

Delicious! We started with the poutine… it was awesome! The classic burger was cooked perfectly to my order and was a great burger. There are so many things that I want to try on this menu… I may plan a trip back soon just for that! Best way to end the meal??? A Cap’N Crunch milkshake!

We came to FLIP after a hockey game in need of some comfort food — and that’s just what we got. Luckily it wasn’t very crowded and parking was easy. The menu overwhelmed me in a very good way. After my first glance at the menu I saw at least 3 appetizers, 3 burgers, 3 sides, and 3 milkshakes I wanted to try. Unfortunately I only had one visit so I had to narrow it down to one of each. The poutine was 1) delicious but also 2) ENORMOUS. That bowl could’ve served probably six people(conservatively) but the four of us rolled our sleeves up and decimated it. The cheddar cheese curds and the beef fat fries were a great match, and the eggs were a nice touch. The turkey burger was unique and fantastic. The burger was juicy and tender — which was a relief considering turkey’s tendency to dry out. The pomegranate ketchup, avocado, and sprouts were clever condiments that went very well together. I shared the Mac & cheese side with someone, which was good. Nothing extraordinary but made for a good side. The Cap’n Crunch milkshake, however, was out of the world. If you like the cereal, get the shake. It’s very thick so you can even wait awhile to digest the massive meal before starting on it. They sprayed some liquid nitrogen over the top of the to-go cup to keep it cold. The service and atmosphere were fine. I’ll need to stop by next time I’m in town to tackle the other things that caught my eye.

The sweet potato tots are on point. The flip mule is also very good. A good date night restaurant.

One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville! I love Top Chef Richard Blais, so when I heard that his burger concept was coming to Nashville, I had to try it. Let me tell you, it lived up to everything that I imagined! The food is fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend the Oaxaca burger, and all of the sides, from the french fries to the sweet potato tots with marshmallow foam, are just incredible. The Nutella milkshake is to die for, and having your drink come out smoking is a really cool and unique experience! I’ve always had great customer service at FLIP Burger, but it can be a bit loud in the restaurant, so keep that in mind. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Had been hearing about this place and passed it a few times and there was usually a crowd(a good sign). When we were meeting friends for dinner, I suggested this because it had a few vegetarian options. Got there and lucked out with a parking place – there is a craft brew place next door so the parking lot seems to stay full. Got in and seated really quickly. Not too shabby for after 7 on a Friday night! Logan was our server and he had a little trouble juggling the bar along with tables, but we ended up with most everything we needed. I have been trying to remember what I ordered(it’s been a bit over a week now) but was so unimpressed that I have forgotten. I’m pretty sure that I got the turkey burger that comes with Monterrey cheese, crushed avocado, pomegranate ketchup, tomato, and alfalfa sprouts… and got it without the bread(had to send it back because they forgot to leave the bun off.) It was okay… a bit short on the ingredients and a bit dry, but okay. The couple with us ordered some fried zucchini as an appetizer and it was really good. The«she» of the couple is the vegetarian and she ordered the quinoa burger(I had heard about it elsewhere but it was not on the menu – turns out it was a «special» for this month. Had I not already known about it, she would never have been told) and it was fabulous! My hubby ordered the Butcher’s Cut and liked it, and the«he» of the couple ordered The Stack, I think: 2 specially seasoned slider patties stacked with American cheese, grilled onions, tomato, shredded lettuce, b+b pickles, flip sauce. Plus Logan was very attentive toward keeping his beer glass ever-full. Downsides: No desserts… just milkshakes – meant to order one but forgot! It’s LOUD there… very hard to visit with each other. Will I go back? Maybe – Nashville is so full of places to eat that it would take years to get to all of them! Why eat in a mediocre place more than once when there are so many other choices???

Ok. I came back after my first, not so pleasant, experience. I came with five other people on a Saturday night. It was busy. Justin was our waiter and greeted us in a timely manner. We ordered drinks and there were only two issues. One — they had Dos Perros on the menu but no longer offered it on tap. Secondly two people at our table ordered wine but it took a while… because they ran out of wine glasses. Something about the restaurant did not consider the demand? Anyway, we ordered. We received five dishes in a reasonable amount of time. It took the sixth dish a few more minutes. Kind of awkward. The food was hot, cooked to order, and delicious for all of us. It took a minute to get ketchup. Someone forgot. But the food was really good this time. I would recommend this place but be prepared for spotty service and not everything on the menu is available. It was much better than my visit on December 5, 2015.

We met with friends to try this Burger Boutique. We were seated right away and the staff was great! Logan was our server. He was excellent and very attentive. I had the Butcher’s Cut Burger with Sweet Potato Tater Tots. Both were excellent. The blue cheese on the burger was good but just a little overpowering. It was still a great burger. The sweet potato tater tots were great… not a one was left. If I had to kick about anything it would be the parking and noise. However, this would not keep me from a return visit sometime in the future.(A little pricey)

Oh. My. Goodness. The high energy here matches the juicy, creative delicious burgers. Matches the unholy milkshakes. Matches the swift efficient service. Matches the smart, friendly, with-it bar keeps. We had the Stack, the Lamb burger, the Oxaca. Those Nashvillians hankering for an in-n-out styled French fry… Look no further and high yourselves here. I am utterly besotted. The great fresh energy. The fit out. Modern. Almost shagadelic, baby. But just this side of Dr Evil. The burgers can be swaddled in a gluten free bun or a giant crispy sheath of tasty lettuce. Or, if you don’t suffer from demon gluten or carb arse(or if you don’t give a rat’s), a puffy cloud of white bun. The burger renditions are grown up and yet playful. The sweet potato tots and burnt marshmallow dipping cream. Wrong. Yet oh, so right. Not cloyingly sweet. A charred compliment to sweet potato. Moonshine shakes. I recommend this only be done in conjunction with an Über transpo plan because that sh*t sneaks up on you. My boys had the Nutella and the Krispy Kreme shakes. Shook me to my foundations. The ice cream was full. Fatty. Stiff and creamy. And fully flavorful. I think we might take over the shop front right across the street l from here. And we will use all means necessary. Am I high from this experience? Yes. I’m taking this corner very hot. Not more than 10 mins away. Damn. Damn. Dreaming about the Flip burger and when we can get back here.

Sadly over priced for what you get. The food was ok. However it did not excite my palate as much as the rave reviews here suggested. The seats are very uncomfortable. Those alone will keep us from going back. Trendy does not have to be a hard seat.

Trendy little burger joint with no wait on a rainy Sunday evening. Pleasant workers and food came out quickly. Ordered the Poutine as a starter and it was a good choice. Those cheese curds and gravy really hit the spot and a fried egg makes everything better. I split the Oaxaca and the Chorizo burger so I could try both. Oaxaca was the winner for me. Prices aren’t bad here and nice to experience Top Chef winner’s eateries.

Fucking pathetic. I got a Classic Burger and fries for take out. The fries were so salty that they were inedible, but they looked nice at least. The burger. Wow. I’m not even sure what to say. First, they use a FROZENPATTY. Unless they somehow have perfected a way to make perfectly shaped patty that looks like a hockey puck. It was also burnt and dry. Look, it’s possible to make a medium well burger that isn’t dry and crispy. Oh, and my partners equally disgusting burger came with a regular bun when he asked(and paid for) a gluten free bun.

Great simple, sleek design! I would give a 3.5 if possible. I ordered the turkey burger with avocado. The roll was warm, toasted, and tasty. The burger was a bit too salty but the toppings were good. I thought $ 8 was a little overpriced just for a burger. I tried someone’s beef fat fries and those were pretty tasty! The service was good and the restaurant not too busy. I did notice the volume on the music kept going up and down – very annoying. Overall, it was a fairly good meal but didn’t blow me away.

The restaurant is quite nicely made from the inside, the bar from far looks pretty interesting but once seated feels ok. Ordered the southern burger which is beef deep fried like chicken with batter. looks wise 5 star taste wise truly 3 stars. The meat is just too bland no flavor cooked right but no flavor at all. The beef fries are decent a different taste as they are cooked in the beef fat. What really rocks about this restaurant is the milk shakes, tried nutella as everyone suggested it AMAZING. Hopefully they read the renaming reviews which have all mentioned that the beef is flavorless 8⁄21 — got contacted by the manager to give it another shot which i definitely will in a weeks time.

I have been to Flip Burger now three times. I went the first week they opened, and I am glad to say service has improved drastically since then. You can typically go here on a weeknight at prime hours(630−8pm) and immediately get seated. There is complimentary valet outside which is always a plus. So far I have tried: 1) The Oxaca– An angus beef burger with avocado and cilantro-lime mayo. Its good but not life changing and not particularly unique in the ingredient combo either. 2) Lamburger– lamb with marinated veggies and feta cheese. Now this… I dig. 3) The Stack– AKA a miniature, more classy big mac. Thumbs up! 4) ALL the fries. I think they are over fried and nothing special. And Im still annoyed when burgers don’t come with fries. SERIOUSLY? Thats like pie without ice-cream. #outraged

Ok let’s talk about this new hipster burger joint for a sec… It’s AWESOME! I love that I can find other options and dietary substitutions that fit my taste. It’s a win win for my boyfriend and I — especially for two people that have opposite taste buds. I can get my hippie food and he can dive on in to a manly hearty burger. I’m telling you, you gotta check this place out. Not to shabby price either.

I frequently drive down Charlotte and noticed Flip a couple weeks ago. The outside of it looked so welcoming and different so I decided to give it a try… and let me tell you it is a must stop for anyone looking for an ambient environment and great food for a great price. The décor itself gives you a natural«hipster» feel. It is casual, but still has the feel of a nice sit down restaurant. They have a large patio for outdoor seating which is perfect for any gathering. The waiter was absolutely wonderful. Since I had never been there before, he went through the whole menu with me. They have a «Nashville» themed appetizer of the day that changes daily. But each appetizer included the infamous Nashville hot chicken spices and sauce. The menu is very unique and diverse. There are quite a few options other than the traditional burger. They have a falafal burger for vegetarians as well as seafood, lamb and chicken options. I stuck with the traditional burger. I just had a cheeseburger which was delicious, but what really made this trip stand out was their fabulous fries. This place has the best fries I have ever had. They had a wonderful herb seasoning on them and they were divine. Overall my experience was wonderful there and I recommend it to anyone wanting a burger!

Beef fat fried French fries? Sweet potato tots? Unique dipping sauces? Expensive but if you want a unique burger and sides, save your pennies and come here! My guilty pleasure was The Southern. Chicken fried beef patty, pimento cheese and homemade pickles. Well worth the calories for the amazing crunchy/soft texture and flavors. The space is slightly futuristic/modern with a good amount of outdoor seating. Good beer selection and if you are into«adult» milkshakes, they can make it happen! Be warned they don’t have the appetizer sampler like ATL does, but a friend and I easily split the fries and each had a burger and we left feeling satiated but not gluttonous.

My girlfriends and I were up for trying this hip new burger«boutique» that recently opened. There’s even valet; that’s fancy, right? We were told it would be about 25 minutes wait for our table at FLIP Burger Boutique, but in reality it took nearly an hour’s wait on a Wednesday night. That’s what we get for going to the popular, new place! It may have taken longer because we needed an wheelchair accessible table, but I wish they had an established waiting area vs. a ton of people standing huddled around the hostess stand in front of a drafty door. I kept almost bumping into this group’s table/chairs as more people entered. One of the reason FLIP is so popular is its creative director, chef Richard Blais, winner of Bravo’s season 8 ‘Top Chef All-Stars.’ I don’t watch the show, but I knew that the restaurant’s ties to reality TV were no doubt responsible for the packed crowd on a weeknight. The place had modern décor with a throwback retro feel like a diner; it kind of reminded me of the décor in a themed Disney restaurant or something. Because we’re super cool chicks, we decided to order milkshakes to start and dig our spoons in. There was likely double-dipping, but we’re blogger buddies so WHYNOT? We got a Krispy Kreme shake and a Turtle shake, both delicious. There were doughnut bits in the Krispy Kreme shake, but it wish it had tasted more doughnut-y. Maybe some cake mix would have helped a little? Sprinkles? Still, like I said, both delicious. Well worth the Lactaids that Lauren and I popped beforehand. Jenna ordered some Braised Brisket Empanadas for the table to split, and they were delicious. They had this cilantro lime mayo that was a really great complement. I didn’t get a photo of these, because we ate them so quickly! As a big-time burger fan, I was anxious to try the main event. I deviated a bit and did not go for a «classic» choice, instead going for their Chorizo burger: chorizo-spiced pork, hashbrowns, fried egg, manchego, Spanish paprika, almond romesco.(I skipped the smoked mayo, as I’m not a mayo fan.) Overall, the portion size was generous; I could not finish the whole burger after indulging in the earlier bites! The burger had great flavor too, though I think the«hashbrowns» were actually fries added to the burger. I added fries to my order(they don’t come with the burger) and wish those were a bit more crispy. They did not exactly win me over on the fries, though again the portions were generous and there were enough to share. I really appreciate that FLIP really thinks about its ingredient sourcing. That means local pork, organic beef, sustainably sourced fish, and sauces made fresh daily. Would I come back to FLIP? I might, if a friend wants to go. It’s not bad, though I hope the wait times start to die down. Burger Republic is still my favorite burger in Nashville, and I also prefer Burger Up and The Pharmacy over FLIP. But like I said, I would come back if someone else really wanted to, to mix it up and try some of the more creative burgers.
