I’ve been going to Archie Moore’s, NH for five years now. Now I’ve got the holy power of Unilocal to help me review how amazing their turkey sandwiches are. Yes, it’s the only thing I get besides the wings(which everyone already knows is awesome). Carl«Pop» is the man during the lunch/day shift, along with the night bartenders — most of which apparently share the same first name?

I have had hot wings from quite a few different places on the west coast and the wings here definitely live up to the reputation and are far better than the rest I’ve tried. I got the original hard fried so they we’re extra crispy and they are addicting! I am saddened by the fact that I live 3000 miles away.

Came in here for lunch the other day with some coworkers. Before we got there, I was briefed by my coworkers and told that their buffalo chicken wrap is supposed to be delicious. I went with their advice and ordered it. They were right, it was really good. The waitstaff were really friendly and the service was prompt. Next time I come back I’ll probably try the wings, because it seems like that’s what they’re known for.

I’m from Rochester, NY about an hour east of Buffalo. It’s chicken wing capital up where I live. Went on a Tuesday night. Place was pretty busy. Sat at the bar. They seemed under-staffed. The older bar tender with white hair and glasses seemed to be taking care of more people than anyone else. He wasn’t very talkative but no biggie. The wings

We came here with one thing on our mind: wings. You’ve heard about ‘em, you know they’re good. Ask for them well done if crispier wings are your thing(we did). Order extra blue cheese if you’re sharing with a condiment hog(I sure did). Yeah, they’re more expensive than you’d expect but that shouldn’t keep you away.

Archie Moore’s is a solid traditional pub with a typical pub atmosphere and has been open since 1898 and is still going strong. Several of the day bartenders have been there for 30 and 35 years, a few waitresses 15 to 20 years, that should tell you something about the management over the years. There are 4 Archie Moore’s in the surrounding towns but this one seems to hold the chicken wing record of 3,000 lbs. per week, consistently. I’m told on Super Bowl weekend they bring in a small refrigerated tractor trailer full of wings which is parked in the lot and they serve up over 7,000 lbs in that time span. The Bartenders are friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of this little New Haven Landmark, drop by and see if you don’t agree that Archie Moore’s is a bright local hidden gemstone delight on Willow St.

If you are from Buffalo, NY and looking for new havens wing place(wait, that’s ME!!!), this is it. The restaurant prides itself on their wings and it really shows. The only bummer really is that if you are a beer snob they will not be able to satisfy. They have some craft brews, and they offer the typical genres of beer, but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary; I won’t dock a point for this because although they are a bar, craft brew lovers is not their target audience. They care about wings and that’s all that matters. Have their potato skins, and if you want less noise than a bar would normally be then get their for an early dinner I. e 5pm or earlier. And don’t fear bringing your kids.

Great wings. Friendly staff. Plenty of TVs to watch sports. Normally I’m much more wordy in my reviews, but this place is about as straightforward as it gets. I wouldn’t waste my time with the sandwiches or salads. Don’t bother with the golden potato skins or the calamari. Save that space in your stomach for as many wings as you can handle!

Disappointing. I don’t see what all the rave is about. The server is the only reason why I’m even giving it more than one star, she was a total sweetheart. But the food arrived cold, the buffalo chicken barely had any buffalo sauce & the fries were hard. I’m not a difficult customer so I just ordered the clam chowder, which to me was OK. My bf ordered the buffalo style chicken dip & I can honestly tell you that he had about 10 – 13 tortilla chips(very little compared to the size of the dip). We’ve yet to try anything else, and doubt we’ll return. For what we’ve spent, I thought we would of gotten at least a fresh & hot entrée. *two thumbs down*

We were there on Kentucky Derby day, and had to wait over an hour for our food. The wings are your standard hot wings — we liked ‘em, but not worth that wait.

Unpretentious best describes this place. If you live in the neighborhood, chances are you’ll see someone you know. Those are things, mostly good ones. A little pretension would probably make the beer list better. I have a long-standing, principled objection to wings of «hot» or «buffalo» or other varieties: are they worth the fuss and mess?(Hint: no.) Maybe that’s why I never crave Archie Moore’s. Still, I’ll tag along with my friends and enjoy myself.

The wings here are amazing. The rest of the food is pretty good and it’s all decently priced. Great for a casual night out. I’ve been to the Archie’s in Derby and it was disgusting.

We decided to try this place because we kept hearing about their wings. When we got there, it was too crowded so we decided to take out. They mixed up our takeout order and we had to wait even longer as a result. Wings was really nothing special and their burgers were bland and dry. We decided to never go back after that. Worst dinner meal, we were so disappointed.

Very comfortable, lively bar. Great food menu that will give you great proportions. Known for their wings, but I think the other food is just as great.

Good wings. Good service and good beer selection. This day was very busy and really loud. I was with a party if 10 and our waitress did a superb job

So not all buffalo wing snobs may agree, but in this man’s humble opinion Archie’s does this legendary American staple justice with their rendition. Wonderfully saucy, with a richness that only comes from an unhealthy dose of butter, I once told a fellow Archie’s lover that I could fill my daughter’s sippy cup up with it and suck on that baby all night long. Yeah, the wings aren’t the juiciest or meatiest, and the sauce isn’t the blow-my-mind-better-than-sex buffalo sauce that you’ve ever had in your life-long explorations to find the quintessential buffalo wing in CT(J Timothy’s Taverne in Plainville is probably where that’s at), but come on now, you gotta admit they are pretty damn good. Plus the no frills atmosphere and staff where you feel like a vintage Coke sign truck blew up all over the walls is the perfect setting to down some local Sea Hag and slop it up with some wings. The fried pickles are damn good here too, with a great crispy breading and served in quartered spears instead of pickle chips just the way I like them. So leave judgement at the door and if you’re looking for some good olé’ pub food in a casual, blue collar setting, Archie Moore’s is your spot!

If you’re craving flavorful, succulent wings then Archie’s is the place to go. The fries are always piping hot and plentiful, but it’s especially hard choosing between Cajun and sweet potato. Our Canadian friends also recommend the poutine saying it’s one of the best they’ve had outside of the motherland. Archie’s has plenty of tv screens showing various sports if that’s your thing and also a good selection of beers on tap. The service is quick and friendly.

It’s all about the wings. Yes they are crispy and awesome. The burgers and sandwiches are also good. Fries are very good. Place is very small and kind of cramped. I’m talking about the new haven location only. Not really sure if the other locations compare? Anyway will I go back. Yes u betcha!

Great place. The atmosphere is very old school. It is rustic, warm and friendly. This was the first trip there but they made you feel like old friends. The food was really good. I have to admit the burger was over done, but still very tasty. The wings are buffalo. That is all you get bur they are the large wings and they are done perfectly. All of the menu items were very reasonably priced. I am just grateful I do nor live close or I may camp out here.
